Daydreaming .......2006-02-19

I have Wunjo on an LP (vinyl) that I found at a store in Westport ( a section of town in Kansas City, MO). I had no idea what it sounded like and actually bought it for the art work on the cover. I didn't get my old turntable hooked up until October (about 4 months later) '92. It's one of the few albums I still remember the exact date (Oct 8) that I first heard it. A light sleet was falling, I could hear it peppering the roof top. I put the album on not expecting much and heard it in the background while on the phone. The song "Sowelu" started playing. It starts with a slow, melancholy sound. The last 4 minutes of "Sowelu" are like music you could imagine hearing in some beautiful dream. "Sowelu" last for over 19 minutes. I started it over from the beginning and loved the entire song. The song titles are all based on the traditional Viking Runes. The meanings in English are subtitles. I admit, I'm not smitten by the entire album because some of the songs, although beautiful, can get tiresome with repetition. Although not the same this album reminds me of some of Patrick O'Hearn's music. I searched and searched to find this on CD but to no avail. But about 3 years ago I went to Giles Reaves website and found it available from MP3. The artwork is different as is the title (Joy). All the songs are named by the former english subtitles. I don't know if it's DDD, but it sounds like it. I still have the original LP with the original artwork. Also, the price is quite reasonable.

Been looking for 20 years.......2006-02-08

I had this on cassette in the 80's....loved it....loaned it...lost it. I've been looking for it ever since. My joy at finding the title faded quickly when I saw the price that's being asked for a 20 year old recording that I had on a $10.00 cassette way back when, though - but I'm still tempted...

I won't waste your time. If you like real deep slideing bass into a new galaxy this is it. If your mind is fried and you need something super mellow this is it. Why do you think it's priced at $40.00?
