Innocence, purity, exuberance and sweetness is Jaya Lakshmi...the album is a musical Lotus Blossom that celebrates harmony and devotion.

Ocean Of Mercy, Jaya Lakshmi's first Album..........2006-10-01

I enjoy this album immensely.
However I like her newer album, Jewel of Hari much much better. and the funny thing is that these albums both grew on me, kind of crept up over a period of time. In fact when I first bought Jewel of Hari I actually hated it. No I really hated it. I don't know why, it was just one of those strong first impressions. But what is weird is that I listed it to sell on Amazon, and by the time I had a buyer, I popped it back into the CD player for a listen, and lo and behold, i loved it. So of course I had to ship it out. But I copied some of the songs to my computer. I ended up loving the songs soooo much over time, that I had to go out and get the album again, and this one as well.
This is her first album. What a spirited Woman musician. She went against all odds, traveling with her young daughter, a single parent, singing to her guru, and totally emersing herself in Divine Bliss, in the Ocean of Mercy. Smiles to this album.

If you enjoy chanting and Kirtan, then this is a great CD to purchase. Jaya Lakshmi has a sweet voice, a voice like and angel. This is a great CD for yoga,(I'm a yoga instructor), even massage, or just plain relaxing.

Not Just For A Devotee.......2005-03-21

I would like to think that if something similar to this was first chanted thousands of years ago, it was done with the same soul-filled passion that Jaya Lakshmi does it with. Her beautiful voice and spiritual fervor blend together for a truly unique musical and mystical experience. The music is performed flawlessly, as English mixes with what I think is Sanskrit, in this lovely and moving piece.

Fans of music from India are sure to love this. The often upbeat melody, that at times seems almost modern, will also appeal to anyone that is interested in hearing well played music from another culture. The sublime voice of Jaya Lakshmi becomes almost ethereal as she reminds me of a beautiful gopi dancing the Rasa.

It's about devotion.......2005-02-12

Mr. Anderberg obviously doesn't realize that the single focus of this album is the love and adoration of Krishna, not the prattling of "subjects in any way related to eastern religion" that he seems to think it is about. If he wants to call adoration of God "drivel, pure and simple", well, that's his business. I think he totally missed the point. The whole record is devotional--pure, loving, and sexy.

Ocean of Mercy is an album that should be in everyone's music collection. Throughout this album, Michael John manages to touch a myriad of human trials and difficulties. Although we may not individually have had to deal with each one, we know and understand the pain of loss, disillusionment, difficulty of forgiving and letting go, need for mercy. This album heals the heart and soul, subtly placing before us examples of how to deal - God's example of endless mercy, Mary's example of saying "yes" to God, a deceased mother's example of letting God be the judge, a deceased child's message of forgiveness. I never tire of listening to this album, which still makes me cry and touches the depths of my being. It is always a much appreciated surprise when I buy one as a gift for a friend, as it speaks to our humanity and response to that humanity from above.

I ran across this album while searching krishna das. I bought it a couple of years ago and it is really irritating. Not authentic nor well "popped" up. A dud

Poor singing, plastic instrumentation, dogmatic lyrics, sloppy engineering. Sankarshan Das means well and pours his heart into the recording, but this shouldn't have left the congregation. Painfully amateurish at times, 1 Star for the beautiful cover art.

kudos to Sankarshan das for his brilliant work.
The songs bring in a sublime taste that one can hardly find in any other devotional music. If you are looking for music which will elevate you to a higher level of conciousness then this is the one, you found it.

Selecting the best track would be a tough choice since each song is a gem in itself, but tracks 1 and 4 especially are my favourites. I would definitely recommend this cd to everyone.

Wonderful Way to Introduce Vrindavan to the World.......2002-11-27

Having been on sacred pilgrimage to Vrindavan, India on numerous occasions I was delighted to hear the Vrindavan song on this wonderful CD. The Vrindavan manifested in India is a manifestation of the original Vrindavan that exists in the spiritual world. When I listen to Sankarshan's recording I feel myself being carried back to Vrindavan. If you're looking for spiritual bliss and you're tired of suffering in the material world then I highly recommend this CD, From Hare Krishna With Love.
