"Numinous" was pianist/composer George Skaroulis' second release, and is considered to be a classic in the new age/ambient genres. The title refers to the supernatural or divine, and of having a deeply spiritual or mystical effect, and that is certainly an apt description of the music. Introspective, a bit melancholy, and shimmeringly beautiful, Skaroulis creates a musical painting that will touch all but the most jaded of hearts. Skaroulis has been one of my favorite artists since I first heard his "Second Nature" album a few years ago, so it's fun to go back and retrace his musical steps. His Greek heritage is apparent in some of the instrumentation and spirit, but the mood is quiet and serene, making this a great album for reading, relaxing, massage, or just letting go of the cares of the day. Despite the calm and soothing sounds, I found this to be a great album to wake up to. Give your ears and soul a treat! Very highly recommended!

This is one of the best CD's for relaxation. I am a massage therapist and several clients compliment me on this choice of CD. I love it for myself. All songs are very soothing. It was commissioned for an art gallery on spiritual paintings and it is so pleasant I can play it over and over for all my clients and never tire of it.

The first time I really listened to this album was on a roadtrip through West Texas and into Big Bend National Park. With violins, mandolins, twangy guitars, and melancholy horns; the Theater Fire emanates the same solitary wind that I remember of the West Texas desert. The songwriting is fantastic with tales and characters of the old west, and yet anyone can relate to their situations in these musical tales. This album is definitely worth buying.

the guitar is amazing! the lyrics on this EP will make your mind understand what it has for so long been trying to figure out. i do not know what the other negative reviewer was thinking. If you enjoy amazing music, buy this EP, you will not be dissapointed.

The album was lacking in every aspect. The vocals were immature and the bass overpowered the songs. Still, the songs were monotonous and dull. The album did not capture my attention. Maybe these kids should go back to the garage where they belong.

This cd is excellent! The melodies are haunting and harmonious. The lyrics interwooven with the thoughtful arrangements make this one of the best new artist finds. Very rare do bands create such beautiful and personal music intending to bare their soul with such honest passion. MUST BUY!
