No words to describe.......2005-09-01
There are really no other proper words to describe the music on this CD other than to say THE BEST. Haunting, melodious, peaceful, and it brings you a step closer to nature regardless of whether you are sitting inside a room or in your car while listening to the CD. I've become a fan of the Native American culture ever since I heard their flute music for the first time. This CD is packed with melodious and haunting sounds of their flutes, the low frequency sounds of their drums which sound like thunder, and to top them all of with a good sprinkling of the chirping of birds and the shrieking sounds of the soaring eagles. The first song "Creator's Prayer" gives you an idea of what to expect in the rest of the CD. Simply the best. The more I listen to the CD, the more addicted I get to the subtle sounds of nature which I miss while leading a city life filled with highway noise, cop car sirens, and tv mumbo jumbos.
Wow!.......2004-12-31
Absolutely beautiful! I just wish the CD was longer. The songs just carry me away to a peaceful place (especially the first one). I listen to it about every morning when I wake up; that's how good it is.
Trible Winds.......2003-09-19
This music is great. The best so far. I use it to metatate. I can close my eyes and picture my great-grand father as a child on the reservation and I can see a happy child in the yeay 1866.There isn't much out there to put me in a space of peace.
"THIS KNOWLEDGE WILL COME TO YOU...".......2002-02-13
You must be quiet to understand the beauty in this Treasure. Quiet inside yourself. Every inch of you, every cell, every fiber of your being. I have owned this a long time and haven't fully appreciated it until now. Why? Because I wasn't truly listening. To listen you must slow down, come to a stop, be calm and OPEN. Now and only now, can you Listen. Oh Yes. Eyes closed, mind empty of all thoughts and TRULY LISTENING...
The music is very POWERFUL. Its power is so subtle that I didn't comprehend it at first. Now I do. The Indians deserve our respect. They are in touch with their Spirits.
I leave you with a quote from "Wind In My Mind" which epitomizes the essence of TRIBAL WINDS:
"I ONCE SAT ON A HILL AND AS I GAZED ACROSS THE LAND
I HEARD A SONG ON THE WIND
I TURNED AND WATCHED THE PRAIRIE GRASSES MOVE TO THE RHYTHM
NOT JUST TO ONE SONG--BUT TO MANY
AS I FOCUSED ON THE HORIZON I REALIZED I WAS HEARING THE SONGS
OF ALL TIME
I WAS LISTENING TO TRIBAL WINDS."
Soar my friends. This will aid you in your journey. My Highest recommendation to the Seekers. TRIBAL WINDS is a FIND.

Soulful and engaging.......2007-02-18
I first encountered Sweet Honey and the Rock in 2003 at Michigan Wymns Music Festival. They were fantastic. Recently, one of my chorus mates suggested the track I Remeber, I Believe as something we should sing in our spring concert. Our director agreed and I couldn't be more trilled. I purchased two copies of the CD, one for myself and one for the daughter of a friend of mine. It is a permanent part of my car audio collection. Try Sweet Honey out and you'll fall in love with their five part harmonies, their personal touch, and the sweet voices of a wonderful, soulful group of wymn.
Holy Music.......2006-08-14
I bought this CD for one song, We Are, a powerful anthem that I had been taught by a dear friend. However, every song on this CD is powerful in its own right and has served and nurtured me over time. Sweet Honey is an amazing a cappella musical group that has evolved out of the African American political and historical experience. With Sacred Ground, Sweet Honey focuses on the spiritual dimensions of political and social challenges such as prejudice and poverty. The result for me, is always a sense of renewal and energy that feeds the soul, soothes the heart and harmonizes mind and body. Sacred Ground is an invaluable CD for any one who works with dispirited and often disembodied people. While most "new age" music, emphasizes a certain spaciousness, Sacred Ground which has its roots in traditional gospel and folk music argues in favor of groundedness as a source of heartful strength. Its just this side of divine.
Great Pick.......2005-02-25
This is really the best. Great sound and beat. Excelent recording sound and meaningful music.
Voices of real angels!.......2002-10-04
I got hooked on "Sweet Honey..." several years ago when I an interview on NPR. This CD really shows off their voices. It also shows how 'into' this genre they are! Highly recommend this CD. Heck, I highly recommend all their CDs!
An Amazing Work.......2000-09-26
I cannot express how grateful I am for this CD. It while I was listening to the amazing voices of these women that God helped me find my way out of a depression (I know it sounds corny, but it's true). While nothing compares to seeing this group perform live, all of their albums are incredible and a must to own. This one has a very spiritual focus, while others sometimes focus more on secular problems. No matter which album you choose, if you like music that is beautiful in every sense of the word, Sweet Honey in the Rock will not dissapoint you.

Another in Earthbeat!'s Tribal Collection series, Tribal Waters is a marriage of contemporary and traditional sound. It's a celebratory synthesis, bringing together nature sounds, bells, spoken word, chant, drumming, horns, flute, and keyboards. Presented by artists of multiple tribes (largely from the western United States), each song is a meditation and prayer, a call for mindfulness. Tribal Waters as a whole is like a river running through all terrain, weather, depth, and velocity. It can be enjoyed as a centering touchstone as the listener allows the sound to unwind and heal while he or she is bathed in beauty. This collection is a reminder of our connection to one another as well as to the earth, and of the great reverence we must hold for that which sustains us. --Paige La Grone

More music, less talk.......2007-01-04
I buy CDs like these (Native American flute and drum) for the music. I find it very soothing when I want to relax or as background music at small get-togethers. On this CD somewhere towards the end of the first track or maybe the middle of the second track, a man begins giving a speech or maybe a sermon about clean water and how soon we won't have any, yadda, yadda, yadda. It's not that I'm insensitive to the serious current threats to our environment. But I thought I was buying soft music to relax to.
not what I expected.......2006-05-18
Based on other reviews, and my love of many Native American recordings, I thought I would love this CD. I was wrong. Just not my style. Next time I'm definitely going to have to listen to the tracks before I buy. A few of the songs are nice, but most just not what I like.
A spiritual bathing.......2005-09-07
If you seek the elusive tranquility in a hectic life, this selection will bring it to you with its balance of natural and musical sounds, complimented by sage and poetic thoughts.
looking for music to remember the Lewis&Clark expedition.......2005-08-02
I haven't listen to the whole CD yet, but from what I could gather, the name and the music samples make me think this is the best music companion for my trip down the Columbia river. I'll be on the river 200 years to the date when Lewis&Clark continued their journey from the Snake River, into the Columbia and finally the ocean.
I'll let you know if it work indeed.
The Best Ever!.......2004-04-08
This is the first CD I have ever bought, or heard, from Native Americans. Now, I listen to it over and over and over again, no matter what I am doing. It is very beautiful with a variety of calming, moving sounds. You can feel the music move right through you, clensing your mind, body and senses.
I definitely recommend this CD above all others.

Sweet Honey in the Rock celebrated their musical, political, and personal triumphs in style and in public with this benchmark 1993 album. Still on the Journey offers a banquet of songs that center on love and living, struggle and death. After 20 years and many lineup shifts, the all-women African American a cappella group continues to demonstrate what a beautiful instrument the human voice can be. A mildly self-indulgent rap self-tribute is offset by the mournful "Spiritual." "Come By Here" illustrates the group's unique capacity to layer vocal lines into a loose net of improvised rhythms and melodies without losing the thread of the song. Here also Sweet Honey dabbles for the first time in vocal percussion. Reflections on Africa come into crisp focus in "Wodabe Nights," while "Wanting Memories" makes it clear that, though the journey has been long and hard, Sweet Honey has no plans to rest. --Sally Weinbach

Rockin with Sweet Honey!.......2005-08-02
This is a great cd. There are one or two pieces that I wasn't that thrilled with, but overall I give this a strong recommendation. This group is amazing, talented, and create music like I've never heard. It will get into you and you won't be able to let it go!
Sweet honey in the stereo.......2001-07-27
Sweet Honey in the Rock is a group you should see live at least once in your lifetime. Isn't great that we have albums, cassettes, and CDs in the last century? Now the beautiful, powerful music of this group will be around for as long as humans and their CD players are around.
No Sweeter Sound.......2001-03-27
I first discovered Sweet Honey in the Rock when I was in High Shool, and heard their "Beattitudes" during a special on Martin Luther King Jr. I knew then that I wanted to hear more. This is one of my favorite CD's , and belongs in the collection of anyone that cares about music that matters both lyrically and spiritiually. I've never had a chance to hear them perform live, but the moment I get the opportunity I will be there!
My current favorite sing-along, lift-me-up, make-me-think CD.......1998-07-14
SWITR sing complex, rhythmic songs of passion, change and hope. And, in my opinion, this is their best. Every song is a winner. This is the one I grab when I'm not sure what I want to hear, and then I find myself just hitting the repeat key on the player. With the current research showing that complex music played for toddlers increases ultimate brain function, this will be a first birthday present for my grandson.

Celebrating 30 years as an unparalleled music group with this release, Sweet Honey in the Rock demonstrate again that they are an American treasure. While technically proficient a cappella singers, Sweet Honey are so much more than a study in vocal pizzazz. The women do indeed gather and tell stories for the generations, chronicling modern life and its struggles and victories. Sweet Honey mask nothing emotionally and draw the listener into each saga, whether they're lamenting violence in the title track, detailing the history of voting rights (or lack thereof) in Washington, D.C., in "Give the People Their Right to Vote," or sharing the tragic tale of a civil rights activist in "Ballad of Harry T. Moore." Founder Bernie Johnson Reagon leads her group through a diversity of styles, ranging from the '70s soul sound of "Solid Gold" to the gospel of "Come unto Me." After three decades, Sweet Honey are as relevant and fresh as ever. --Michael Lyttle
Album Description
30th anniversary album presents Sweet Honey in their award-winning style with a contemporary sound. Features predominantly new, 2003 original material, with contributions by Toshi Reagon written especially for Sweet Honey. Earthbeat/Rhino.

The Women Gather Sweet Honey in the Rock.......2005-08-29
I'm a new fan of Sweet Honey in the Rock, so wasn't sure what to expect from the cd, having only seen them on public tv. Their music is brilliant, unique, all a capella; not easy listening, however. Very political.
As Always, the best.......2003-02-01
Sweet Honey delivers message of love, struggle and social resonsibility through their rich, stirring a capella vocals, and celebrate 30 years together with this new CD. This one presents a wide range of styles and vocalizations of mostly contemporary songs written by the group, or new arrangements of old songs, such as Isaac Watts' "That Awful Day Will Surely Come." They address everything from addition to voter rights (or lack thereof) in the District of Columbia. A lush and thought-provoking CD as only Sweet Honey can create.
What a treat!.......2003-01-30
I've been a fan of these phenomenal women for some time now and I was thrilled to see they released a 30th anniversary album. The CD is an inspiring and uplifting experience from start to finish and I cannot get enough of it. I highly recommend it to EVERYONE, no matter your age or musical tastes. What a treat!

Sweet Honey in the Rock send their joyful noise throughout the audience on this soundtrack to the Raise Your Voice documentary, part of PBS's American Masters series. As the all-female a cappella group traces American gospel to its African roots, they all but dare listeners to resist becoming part of the music. On the environmentally conscious, central African "Chant," the singalong encircles the hall, providing a stirring response to Sweet Honey's call. A strong social conscience informs material such as "Joan Little," an expression of solidarity with an abused prisoner, and "The Ballad of Harry T. Moore," a tribute to a slain civil rights organizer. Instrumental backing propels the funky "Ballad of the Broken Word," written by Toshi Reagon, daughter of Sweet Honey founder Bernice Johnson Reagon. Yet as the soaring spirituality of "In the Upper Room with Jesus" attests, vocal power is all this group requires to overwhelm a responsive crowd. --Don McLeese
Album Description
Founded in 1963, this Grammy award winning group of talented, versatile women singer-songwriters creates a rich tapestry of sound steeped in the traditions of Black sacred music-spirituals, hymns, and gospel reaching into the more contemporary stylings of blues, jazz, hip-hop and R&B. For over three decades this actively touring group has, with great beauty, power, and expressiveness, inspired audiences with musical portrayals of struggle and triumph encouraging social and political activism.

great stuff.......2007-01-21
First off, I'm surprised there are so few reviews of this cd and on this guy. I only heard of him through a collaborative work he did with Maria Maldaurr and Rory Block called "Brothers & Sisters" which I strongly recommend if you are a Bibb fan.
He's a great musician and in time I'm sure his lyrics will get better. Some are just so predictable but he's got the right sentiment(s) and his heart is there - front and center.
I don't know why this is so different from other works - I've only heard Painting Signs but haven't yet had a chance to really LISTEN to it. I think I need a road trip, endless scenery and a good sound system. But for here and now -- man, he had me hooked from the first song.
I've got too much stuff also, but not enough music. I need to hear more of Mr. Bibb. Don't forget to check out Sisters & Brothers, I think it has the BEST version I've heard so far of Don't Let Nobody Drag You Down. I hope he's as nice as he sounds.
A voice that is smooth like butter!.......2005-04-23
I went on a very long car trip with only this CD. I thought I would get sick of it but instead I kept on singing to it as the miles rolled on. I now count two of these songs as my all time favourites. Eric Bibb really grows on you and this CD is great because there is a real mix of nice slow easy listening songs and toe tappin, spoon smacking, good tunes.
More Good Stuff From Bibb!.......2003-09-27
Natural Light is a slight departure from other Bibb releases and contains some nice smooth jazz/blues tunes such as "Home Lovin' Man" and "Tell Riley" as well as some very good ragtime, soul, zydeco and some spiritual stuff all mixed together. The CD consists of 13 tunes with 10 originals and 3 covers, Randy Newman's "Everytime It Rains", Jon Randall Stewart's tired "Circles" and the out of place, "Higher and Higher." Interestingly, Bibb's original compositions are so good that they overshadow the weak cover selections rendering those covers to mere filler on the disc. Bibb's vocals are as soft and soulful as ever and the performance is excellent. The disc could have stood alone with just the original compositions.

Fall in Love with Life.......2003-09-13
In August this year, I attended the yearly Jazz Festival in Eilat, known as ' Jazz in the Red Sea'. I am not a huge jazz fan, so I enjoyed many of the performances but felt no need to buy any of the CDs by the acts performing.
Then, the very last concert of the very last night, went to see The Paul Winter Consort and the Dmitri Pokrovsky Singers. To say that the act was phenomenal is an understatement. It simply blew the competition out of the water - and stood head and shoulders above any other act in the Festival.
Dressed with what I presume are traditional Russian cloths, the Dmitri singers dances, stormed their feet, played the violin (badly - the only weakness in the set), and most importantly sang - raised their voices in wonderful, exotic harmonies, completely unfamiliar to me, someone who listens mostly to Rock, Blues and other forms of music derived from the European and America traditions.
After seeing a whole variety of Jazz acts, The Paul Winter Consort came off as even more impressive. I can't put the finger on what made Winter's group them so great - there were many able pianists, bassists and drummers in the performances, but somehow, the Consort was so much better. No doubt it was because the music was so much better - not just effective, but often sterile Jazz, but wonderful combinations of styles and forms.
Paul Winter (who, due to a malady in the mouth, had a man holding his lips while he played) was not only a fantastic saxophonist but a bandleader extraordinaire, straight forwardly and warmly communicating with the crowd. His Sax lines mirrored and complimented themes from the rhythm section, the Dmitri Singers, and occasionally recordings of whales, wolves, and so on.
It was a fantastic concert, and you can hear much of that charm, beauty and power here, in the record that Winter and the Dmitri Pokrovsky Singers made some 15 years ago during the last days of the Cold War. This is a true epic of World Music and Jazz. You'll love it.
Mesmerizing; sweeps you away!.......2003-05-26
The lively, dissonant Russian folk-singing of the Dmitri Pokrovsky Singers is deftly accompanied by saxophonist Paul Winter, keyboardist Paul Halley, cellist Eugen Friesen and guitarist Oscar Castro-Neves, with Russ Landau on bass and Ted Moore and Glen Velez on percussion. The result is a fun, joyful blending of east and west, old and new. The intensity of the Russian tonalities is punctuated by whistles, shouts and even a few wolves and whales (which always sound great in duet with Winter's fluid soprano sax), while the jazz consort smoothes out the dissonances, yielding to their unique character but blending them into compositions with an undeniably modern flavor. The resulting album is a triumph. Fans of world fusion music and innovative musical arrangement, don't miss this one!
The passion of world harmony fused with light jazz.......2002-09-20
I first heard this recording when I bought the cassette about 12 years ago from a bargain stand. It immediately became one of my most cherished recordings, primarily becuase of the first song, "Kurski Funk", which is one of the most uplifting, rhythmic vocal harmonies I have ever heard. If you are open to it, it reaches down deep inside your soul and awakens something primal. I can almost feel myself leave this planet when I hear it, and I can't sit still. It is trance-inducing. Most of the other songs on the CD have a smiliar effect, their rhythms capturing you, posessing you feet to tap, stomp even. The harmonic choruses are interspersed throughout the entire album. My only complaint is likely a result of the fact that I am NOT a jazz fan, and probably jazz is not even the right word. Although the saxaphone and "Paul Winter" sound is very nicely woven into the songs, I have always been a bit saddened when the singing and dancing melted into the more melodic instumental portions of the songs. The singing in "Kurski Funk" especially could never be prolonged enough for me. Songs such as "The Horse Walked in the Grass" took a little getting used to for me, but now they are part of the whole Earthbeat experience and my innards dance to that tune, as well.
I was so surprised when I heard the "Kurski Funk" on "SURVIVOR"! I felt I had been robbed! My precious jewel of a song that no one I knew had ever heard, and that had been my soul's mate for so many years, had been commercialized! Well, I hope the commercialization will help to spread this music to the world. I misplaced my cassette, and got a car with only a CD player, and have been looking for the last year for the EARTHBEAT CD. Thank heavens I finally found it and my soul can sing again.
Unexpectedly different. But don't let that put you off!.......2001-03-31
Not many years ago, I had the good fortune to see the Dimitri Pokrovksy ensemble live, at one of Paul Winter's "Winter Solstice" concerts. The ensemble, a group of young Russian singers, thoroughly captivated tha audience with their energetic songs and dances that trace their roots back to ancient Russian village music.
Sadly, the event took place only months after Pokrovsky was prematurely lost to them. That Winter Solstice concert became, de facto, a remembrance . It was an experience to remember, and all concerned deserved kudos for making the occasion a celebration of the life of Pokrovsky.
This album is an alternate, and more permanent, celebration of the unique vocal and instrumental sounds that Pokrovsky and Winter combined in creating this music. That the original idea for the collaboration predated the collapse of the Soviet Union by a few years, requiring permission and a co-production from from Melodiya, the Soviet state record company, is all the more remarkable in these days of an open Russia.
The final track, "Garden of the Earth," adding American village choristers coached by the inestimable Susan Osborn to the group of Russian singers, is a fitting conclusion to a good musical time had by all. It brings to mind another garden song of affirmation and hope, Benrstein's "May Your Garden Grow," the concluding song in his opera, Candide. Consider this coincidence, whether purposeful or serendipitous, as high praise.
Speaking of coincidences, it is more than mere coincidence that the opening theme of the TV show "Survivor," titled "Ancient Voices" on that show's theme-music album, is derived literally from "Kurski Funk." Paul Winter and Dimitri Pokrovsky must have had a good idea there, back in 1987, when the album was first released.

Globalulabies.......2006-02-03
This CD was the one of the best purchases I ever made. I was a preschool teacher for 18-24 months olds. Nap time was always hard because the music we found was not always the best. Trying to find the right kind of music to keep children asleep was necessary. We even played a local radio station that had a 2 hour classical segment. The problem with this was the same as most of the music we played. There was always a few songs that was not really nap time appropriate because they were too loud.
I found this CD and realized it was a winner. The children loved the music. We even had one that slept closest to the CD player sing the songs every day to put himself to sleep. The music is so relaxing I even played it at home to put myself to sleep. Friends of mine who are expecting will be receiving a copy of this CD from me with a note attached saying "Best nap/quiet time CD you will Ever find!".
Many happy returns.......2005-10-12
We received this CD as a gift from a family member and it quickly became a bedtime favorite. Our daughter also 'learned' the lyrics by listening, shaping these new and unique sounds she had only been exposed too in this CD. We ended up buying a CD player for her bedroom so she could listen at night, but we often brought the CD down to the house stereo tso we could all listen in. My favorite memory of the music was when I was pregnant with our second child. My daughter would lay next to me,cup her hands around her mouth and sing Owayare to my bump. After her new sister was born she sang it to her again, almost like it is their own secret song. You can't go wrong with this CD!
Wonderful Night Music for Children.......2004-09-10
I bought this CD a couple of weeks before my 6 year-old Daughter was born and it's her favorite. We have lots of other lullaby CDs, but she asks for this one all the time. She likes it so much that she has read and memorized all the lyrics, even the ones in other languages, and she corrects me if I try to sing the songs and get the lyrics wrong. She especially likes the "Good Night" song also mentioned in some previous reviews. This song encourages global awareness with the lyrics: "We are all one family, let's hold tight, and fill the world with dreams of harmony, tonight", followed with "Good Night" in a lot of different languages.
This CD has lullabies in different Styles but they are all very beautiful, and quiet enough for bedtime. Also all the lyrics are loving and appropriate for young Children. I have found that some other world-music lullaby albums pick lullabies that mention illness, death and suffering, which may be what children from the cultures depicted are exposed to on a daily basis; but as the Mother of a very sensitive child that asks innumerable questions on hard topics, I feel that not all children are ready to be exposed to death on a daily basis. It is my opinion that lullabies should help children feel loved and secure. Also, some other lullaby albums have such upbeat music that it would be hard to go to sleep while listening to them.
I recommend this CD wholeheartedly as a gift to any young person (not just babies).
Beautiful! Lilting lullabies in various languages soothe us.......2004-06-25
We csme to this cd from our other current favorite cd, "A Child's Celebration of the World". Freyda has a song on there with "Good Night" in 9 languages, and I wanted to learn it. I got this cd for the liner notes, and learned the song. (It is wonderful.) In the process we discovered these extraordinary additional songs that Freyda has arranged and sings. She has a language coach for most of the songs, as they are in a wide variety of tongues. Her music is gentle, sweet and lilting, interesting while also invoking rest. This is my favorite cd now for cuddling my 16-month old daughter in the evening. Sweet dreams to you... P.S. The other cd I mentioned is our favorite "waking up" music.

This CD and another one by the same artist, Accoustic Attitude are amoung the favorites in my music collection. Extremely soothing combination of instruments and vocals help me to relax and reflect. I listen to it all the time, and wish that I could find more music by Freyda.

The fourth album from modern bluesman Eric Bibb is a get-out-of-bed delight, the kind of record that makes you feel like being productive. As with his previous efforts, Home to Me contains some strong folk elements, especially on the slower, mellower numbers such as "Singin' in My Heart." The son of folk musician Leon Bibb, the Eric Bibb met and learned from such luminaries as Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger. Though Bibb's career is based in Europe (he lives in Sweden), he has cultivated a growing American following, which is only appropriate, as his music--a flavorful mix of folk, country, and soul over a solid blues base--is very much a U.S. creation. Even "Mandela Is Free," which contains African-style chants and rhythms, is sung over a folk-blues accompaniment--and what could be more uniquely American than fusing disparate musical styles? Full of sunshine and good feeling, Home to Me is a perfect summer release, guaranteed to provide warmth all through the year. --Genevieve Williams

Soul singing and Delta guitar playing with passion!.......2001-05-30
Original songs and inspired singing and playing make this cd a memorable experience all around! Play him on The Blues Power Show at 1490 KOTY AM Yakima Nation Reservation Radio in south central Washington state.
Eric Bibb's passion for music is evidenced!.......2001-03-06
Mr. Bibb provides an entertaining and charismatic rapport of appreciativeness toward his live audience. His soul-felt blues voice and acoustic guitar abilities attest to his innate gift as a musician and songwriter. On this album, the melody to the song "For You" is almost haunting--add the lyrics--together they show his heartfelt passion for his music.
GREAT MIX OF UPLIFTING BLUES.......2000-10-11
This is a great album, It is not dull at all. Maybe the person that wrote that review is unfamaliar with the blues, it is a great album. It has ballads, blues, and hula sounding music including a duet with Taj Mahal. GREAT ALBUM!
Y-A-W-N!!!.......2000-08-14
What a dull, lacklustre performance. This CD is dull, dull, dull. It lacks any variety at all. To say it is bland is an understatement. Eric just drones on from track to track to track. There is nothing to excite the listener at all. It's the type of CD that you'd be tempted to play if you are suffering from a severe case of insomnia! I'd suggest forget about buying this CD & check out Ben Harper instead.
Outstanding!.......2000-07-22
When I first heard Come Back Baby on the radio, I thought "Oh, please don't let this be another heavily cliche'd blues tune" after hearing the title. I couldn't have been more wrong. Eric's haunting vocals and subtle blues licks (with enough Lightnin Hopkins to be a good tribute) are capturing straight from the soul. Too bad Amazon didn't preview this track 'cause it's the reason I bought this album.
