About the Artist
Erin Kamler has been singing, chanting and practicing Kundalini Yoga for over eight years. A native of Ann Arbor, MI, Erin began her career in musical theater and went on to sing off Broadway and on numerous albums. Her passion for the art of meditative chanting can be heard in live performances throughout the country.

Adam Smalley has contributed his expertise in film music for over ten year. As a Score producer, Music Supervisor and Music Editor, his work ranges from projects such as "Thin Red Line" and "Gladiator" to "The Lion King" and "Being John Malkovitch". The films he's contributed to have grossed over two billion dollors. Adam is proud to make MANTRA GIRL his chanting debut.

Dan Powell lends his creativity to record, commercial and films throughout Europe and the US. An extensive world traveler, he has gathered musical influences from Africa, India and Southeast Asia, where he developed a specific interest in Indonesian Gamelon music. Based in London, Dan has worked as a sound designer and composer for fifteen years.

Exquisite.......2006-04-05

Intricate harmonies, soaring melodies, Erin has the voice of an angel. I have generally been less than enthusiastic about most of the mantra CD's I have heard, and consider myself to be somewhat cynical and not easily moved. The first time I played this CD on my pc, I really enjoyed it. Then...I queued it up on my high-end home stereo system so that I was able to hear the fullness and richness of the music, and sat in stunned silence, tears pouring down my face. It's simply beautiful.

waste of time and money.......2005-11-08

I've been rabidly collecting mantra music for some time and was hopeful this album would satiate my appetite, but after a few listens, I've concluded this album sucks. Ths music is bland, her vocals don't touch a nerve, and the whole project generally lacks shakti. Beware of buying (overpriced) music from Amazon that doesn't allow you to preview any tracks! Not only that, but the artwork is wrong. She's inverted some of the chakra symbols, duh! Don't waste your money on this... go and buy Deva Premal, an artist with real talent and integrity.

If you just want a soothing female vocalist cd, then this is ok. If you want mathematically corrupt western 12-tone equi-temperment sounding pseudo-mantra-muzak, this is the CD for you. If you think mantra is about harmony and not melody, buy this! If you want the real deal, look elsewhere.

Music for the happy heart.......2004-08-26

An excellent CD for kundalini yoga practices, or just for some joyous singing along. I have considered the other comments that the music is not "traditional" enough, therefore it is not valid. In my opinion, that is the equivalent of saying that if one is not listening to Gregorian Chants, one is not listening to "authentic" Christian music. You would be missing out on a whole lot.

Erin Kamler (Mantra Girl) provides an interesting, modern, upbeat interpretation of more traditional mantras, which is appropriate for kundalini yoga which is an interesting, modern and upbeat interpretation of traditional yoga practices.

The tracks range from rousing ("Gobinday")to relaxing (the healing mantra of "Ra Ma"), empowering (Adi Shakti) to ethereal (Sa Ta Na Ma). Kamler prints the lyrics phonetically in the album cover for easy reference and singing along.

I highly recommend this CD, especially in conjunction with her instructional DVD's. I like to play it at home, in the car - wherever! It just leaves me feeling happy.

STONKING GOOD STUFF!.......2004-08-17

This is a great CD!
Only one of the songs is in English but the music essentially has a Western Feel. There's some real foot-stomping bassy numbers as well as floaty ethereal ones, and I'm a sucker for great female vocals (she does have a really great voice.)

It's something different, but even someone with pretty 'mainstream' tastes will take to it. Thank God it's not more of that new-age cheeseycrap I've heard so much of.

Sing along and do some mantra yoga!

More music please............2006-03-12

I would more accurately give the Trinity cd 3 1/2 stars for lack of music. It's enjoyable to listen to. The songs are ambient and repetitive in a good way- the ongoing mantras are soothing. Mantra Girl has a pretty voice- nothing earth shattering, but very pleasant. The major disappointment is in the length of the cd: a mere 21:52 minutes long. For the price I feel the music should be considerably longer. I just loop it when practicing yoga. But I still enjoy Mantra Girl's Trinity and Truth in my yoga collections. The songs are uplifting and motivational, which is very important to me during my yoga practice. Trinity is also enjoyable to listen to at anytime really, yoga or no yoga. Why couldn't she just give us more music?
