Takes me to another world.......2006-12-15

If you like the first cd then this one is just as good. The first track goes deep into relaxation making me feel like there is life beyond our every day experiences. This cd will make you think as you relax. listen and experience it for yourself.

I'm a long time fan of Dr. Thompson and have alot of his material.
Without futher ado; the first track is a great piece of ambience, period. Track 2 is ruined (imo) by a grating hiss that's in your face - or ear.
Seeing that he's both veteran musician and doctor perhaps there's therapeutic value in this. If so, he should've included a brief note in the booklet. But track 1 is long enough...

At first I thought this cd was a sign of him washing out. I think I heard a few disharmonic moments - as in mistakes.
This, along with the unpalatable hissing on track 2 gave me the impression of a cheap commercial plug.
But the second and third time around I found track 1 to be very good indeed. It's certainly not like taking a valium tho as it's
got a balance of brainwaves...as compared to say, the Delta program (which has more than delta but i'm talking concentrations).
Others have said there are better cd's for therapeutic effectiveness. Probably. I have the Insight cd which uses a new layering technique and is supposedly top of the line (ie., as good as centerpoint and tmi's cd's - only cheaper and shorter). But this uses rain as a mask. Very boring but you can Really feel the change in states of consciousness. You can actually feel yourself go into - and out of - alpha/theta/delta. Tho with this, it Could be that with just rain you're more aware of the changes.

So I've a bunch of these types of cd's. Now it could be that I don't listen to them enough. But to me, they really don't do anything - besides the enjoyment of listening of course. To, we all go into these states naturally at night anyway.

I can't stop!.......2005-01-19

This cd makes me feel as though someone stuck their finger in my brain and stirred it around. I can't pinpoint what exactly feels different, but I find myself thinking about turning it on all the time. My boyfriend says it helps his ability to concentrate. We've both been sleeping tremendously better. I didn't understand all those other reviews saying it cures 'the blahs' til now. It really perks me up on a break at work. It's easier to stay grounded. I can't wait to try the others!

Brainwave Maestro Composes A Classic.......2004-10-28

I've been following the works of Dr. Jeffrey S. Thompson since 1989, when an acquaintance gave me a cassette recording of one of his earlier primitive works. "The Doctor" has had, since that time, several phases of innovation which have mainly been a progression from the use of multitudinous sculpted sounds and even "noise" to a much more accessible sound with classical aesthetics of beauty, primarily synthesizer based. He recently has developed a technique of, in his words, "creat[ing] pulses directly within the sounds themselves instead of pasting the music on top of sound pulses" (as is quite common with brainwave composers.) This means the pulse is somewhat "hidden" and one is not distracted from the music. Cool. This disc is completely ambient and therefore a superb meditation tool. I must also mention that this is one of The Doctor's BEST productions since he began using the "wall of synthesis." Sometimes he has had what i thought were glitches of noise perhaps from a dirty potentiometer. But, with Thompson, one never knows if that noise is actually there intentionally. This disc, however, is very clean so headphone use is care-free. Finally, his focus on the "Awakened Mind State" makes this a valuable learning tool for serious consciousness explorers. If I was going to recommend one Thompson disc that is on Amazon to someone who knows nothing about his work, this would be the one.

This stuff really works. I plug myself in a couple of times a day - and WOW! Instant meditation. No kidding. A great way to relax and worth the $20 or so for the CD. Copy it to your ipod and take a break at work when the stress starts to kick in.

This CD when I use it a half hour flys bye instantly, and feel very relaxed, I plan on hooking my eeg monitor up and checking to see what is really happening but havent done it yet, I'll get back when I do.

An Awesome Experience.......2006-11-11

I have been interested in brain entrainment technology for many years and have sampled many of the raw tools that are out there. Awakened Mind System is by far one of the best that I have heard to date. When it first arrived, I was skeptical. Upon hearing the first chord, I knew that this was something very special. This CD is so good for a whole lot of reasons. As other reviewers have stated, it can be used for many different activities. It can be used to meditate, for exercising, as a background at work, as a sleep aid, as a de-stressing aid, as a self discovery aid, etc. It really is a multi-purpose CD. Since I have been using it, I simply feel better. More at peace, and am able to deal with situations better. Very, very impressive.

Not falling for it, huh? Oh, well...I thought I could steal your money like "Gerald" suggested...hey, I do take money orders and most major credit cards, does that help?

Anyway...

Today I finally got this CD. I ordered it about two weeks ago, but it arrived today. I couldn't get it out of the package fast enough. In fact, I postponed an appointment I had so I could listen to it.

Hey, I have my priorities.

I have quite of few of Jeffrey Thompson's CDs and every one of them is magnificent in their own way, but for some reason, I really reasonate with this one. I am going to be cliche' here, but I truly felt as though something magical was taking place when I slipped on the headphones and cued up track one.

Because I have had surgery on my lower back and continue to have difficulties with my lower spine, I devised a meditation where I take a deep breath in and then I slowly "move" energy (envisioned as a golden light) up the spinal cord, into the brain stem, throughout the brain, into the pineal gland (the area between the eyes) where I hold the breath for a slow count of three and then I release the breath and then I take another deep breath and reverse the process. Yeah, it does sound like a kundalini exercise, but it's much softer and more gentle and I really felt greatly refreshed and spiritually as well as physically strengthened after this exercise.

Kundalini kind of wears me out. Maybe I'm doing it wrong...I dunno. Are you supposed to do it with a bucket on your head, wearing your grandmother's panties while drinking a cherry slurpee? That's what I was told...

But this CD really made an already good meditation, a great one! I cannot wait until I use it tomorrow night in the meditation class I am guiding. Yeah, it'll be on "open air" speakers, but I find the even without headphones, Jeffrey Thompson's CDs produce deep feelings of relaxation in my spiritual guests...I refuse to call them students as they have as much (if not more) to teach me than I have to teach them.

So, do I recommend this CD, of course I do. Like I said, I did have to wait, but maybe it just wasn't in stock, but it just gave me an opportunity to practice patience and knowing that everything is just as it needs to be.

I feel so good listening to this cassette, I really don't want to switch back to the rock CD's. At least not for a while. My stomache just feels so much better.

I have the cassette. Really need a CD so I don't have to keep turning the cassette over. It isn't 8-track. My unit doesn't automatically switch direction (it will automatically kick in a 2nd cassette on the "A" side, but that is another story).

Amazing experience.......2007-02-06

The Dynamic Transformation music feels like traveling through the galaxy. You have to hear this music with a good pair of headphones to understand what it feels like.

I am speechless. I listen to this CD almost everyday at work on my iPod shuffle. You forget everything around you and focus on task at hand with a very high level of concentration. Simply brilliant!

This is the only CD that I feel deserves more than just 5 stars.

Since l976 when I first tried biofeedback and learned I could control
my brainwaves, I've been experimenting with ways to get better at it.
I've done a year of training to help my ADHD, I've meditated since l980,
I've been a professional clairvoyant..spending thousands of hours in an
"altered state" while I work.
Whats so wonderful about Dr. Thompson's various CD's is that you can
simply choose a brainwave, the way you pick out a pair of socks, and
apply it to the need of the moment. God Bless the 21st century, its
inventors, the music equipment that carries the message, and especially
Dr. Thompson for his bold, beautiful, magical music that makes the

Most people probably wouldn't classify this as music, but if you are into spiritual meditation this CD is for you. The second track literally puts me into another world. The track definitely seems to generate high energy.

The Chill-out that Dare Not Speak Its Name.......2004-04-10

Unlike much of the competition in the "meditation/chillout/relaxation" field, this music manages to be ethereal, complex, and interesting all at the same time. It's meticulously recorded and free of the twee and irritating "angelic" trappings that make so much of this genre so schmaltzy and unlistenable. In fact, this set stands on its own as music for its own sake, although it also accomplishes its stated purpose (relaxation, meditation, whatever) quite well too. One might be skeptical of the "awakened mind" claims made in the liner notes-I don't know if merely listening to music that purports to "map" the EEG readings of spiritual adepts will give the listener a shortcut to satori, nirvana, or the Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From The Center Of The Ultraworld-but the music's relaxing effects are real. As ambient music, this stuff is head and shoulders above most of the product released under that label and in some ways is superior to Brian Eno's later-period stabs at the genre (e.g. Neroli, Shutov Assembly). One can even put it on as background noise and not be labeled a SNAG (sensitive New Age guy), and that's a rare thing.

Good Product But Ordered By Error & Returned.......2005-12-22

I find all of Dr. Thompson's products worthwhile & interesting, so I ordered the Brain Fitness Kit, not realizing I already had the recording, having purchased it, previously, under the Product Name: Awakened Mind System. It is my mistake that, I did not fully read the title: Brain Fitness Kit: Awakened Mind System. The Kit does have some Yoga position cards that did not come with the other product.
