4 out of 5 stars Say hello to the Nordic Goddesses of Hardcore Music!.......2001-02-12

This is a good album by the Doughnuts, their only full length album at that. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of production on the album that seems a bit shakey. These babes can flat out tear it up and seem to be having a lot of fun while doing it.

Asa (lead singer) sounds much more heavier on this album. On a first listen, it may be hard for you to discern whether or not Asa is actually male or female, especially if you don't know much about the Doughnuts or have never heard them before. It takes a little time, but you will soon discover how beautiful yet powerful her voice is.

Great guitar work on this album, just like their first release. Sarah and Sarah (Doughnuts guitarists) really rip it up. These girls amaze me with how skilled they truly are. The Drumming by Linda is very solid, but tends to be drowned out by the guitars. This is not to say that the production on this album is horrible, but it could have been slightly better.

The last track on this album (Animal) is absolutely AWESOME and more than makes this CD a worthy buy. It's easily my favorite Doughnuts song. I can listen to this song over and over again, I never get bored with it. This album also contains a couple of bonus tracks, but these are more like the girls having fun and clowning around than anything else.

Buy this CD and open your ears up to the music of the Doughnuts. This is some very good hardcore/metal music produced by some very talented women.
