Product Description
Guitar legend Adrian Belew will be the primary guitarist for the brand new concept CD by Man on Fire, titled Habitat. Adrian brings his signature style to this release, providing a stunning array of searing solos and unique textural soundscapes to the recordings. Adrians contributions add a whole new layer to the CD, which Man on Fire believes to be their most definitive musical statement to date. Conceptually Habitat details a variety of different lives existing within the confines of a single urban city block. Each of the tracks paints a musical portrait of one or more of the individuals living within this block, allowing for the CD as a whole to reflect many varied emotions and dynamics. In addition to the contributions from Adrian Belew, Habitat features the amazing artistry of former Kansas violinist David Ragsdale, who adds an intoxicating combination of gorgeous, melodic atmosphere and fierce technical virtuosity to the tracks on which he performs. The final mixes of Habitat were mastered by veteran mastering engineer Brad Blackwood (Evanescence).
Customer Reviews:
AMAZING!.......2005-11-21
First and foremost, BUY THIS CD! This is an amazing album that mixes elements of modern music, ambience, and progressive hard rock all into one sick mix. In this musical journey you experience the lives of 10 people on 1 city block. The music is very complex, sometimes catchy, rockin, melodic.... probably more. With Adrian Belew playing guitar and solos from an ELECTRIC VIOLIN by the guy who played for Smashing Pumpkins, your in for some real treats. If your a fan of music get this CD. Think King Crimson meets RPWL meets modern alternative.

Album Description
Produced by D. Braxton Henry, the album is an explosive collection of propulsive metalcore complete with visceral death-derived change-ups, gripping hooks and an all out brutally uncompromising sound. Frontman Bucky Garrett's caustic duel vocal stylings yield a ferocious blend of melody and rabid fervor that is not easily matched, while guitarists Marc Serrano and Joey Turner pack a violent punch as they shred through each track with a sense of urgency. Backed by Keith Reber and Mike Miller's frantic rhythm on the bass and drums respectively, ADF deliver a aural assault unto each listener.

Nothing Special.......2006-09-07
You've definitely heard this before, but performed by other bands. The singing just RUINS the disc. And the music sounds overproduced and appealing to a mainstream crowd. If you're looking for something groundbreaking, look somewhere else. Let this disc gather dust in the secondhand bin and check into quality metalcore like Between The Buried and Me, All That Remains, Dead To Fall, Into The Moat, The Red Chord, and Converge.
A Dozen Furies Lives up to their title.......2006-08-09
I would have been lying if I had said I didn't have my preconceptions about this band. Once I heard the first song, their concept from fire burned all of mine. This is a very good cd on it's own recogniscence. It does kind of sound like everything else that is out there right now(Killswitch,Shadows Fall,Avenged Sevenfold(when they were good) but, these guys are pretty good musicians and they really do bring it. The title track and "The Cycle" are my favorite songs. The guitar riffing is spectacular and the drummer is insane and very Vinnie Paul influenced. Pretty good cd. If you don't have it then go and get it.
yeah its good-4.5 stars.......2006-06-13
Ok, I will begin by saying this: I personally dig the scream-sing combo in metal music. If you don't like screaming & singing, this is definitely not your cd. On with the review..
The album begins with a peaceful but ominous acoustic piece entitled "The Gift". It makes me examine the moon and the sky on the cover of the album. Then the opening chord of "Awake & Lifeless" rings out, and the fire starts to make its way into the picture. Then, everything kicks in, and the intensity leaves your head spinning. The fire now engulfs the entire cover (metaphorically of course). But when the chorus arrives, the fire moves to the right side of the picture and the music rests in an almost flawless medium of harmonious singing and head-kicking instrumentation. This album has a great mix of insane blistering screaming and melodious singing. The music is also very tight and technical, containing tasteful yet insane soloing and precise and hammering drums. I love the panning of the two guitars in "Idea & Some Rope" and there are some awesome technical beats, fills, & breakdowns in "The Cycle". But every song has something to offer, mind you.
The only reason the album doesn't get a full five stars from me is because as catchy, creative, and well-done as it is, it sounds like other metal albums/bands and therefore lacks originality. This album is a worthy purchase though, don't get me wrong. I don't think you would be disappointed.
pretty typical of what's already out there........2006-05-22
yes, a dozen furies won battle for ozzfest (and yes they were better than the other bands up there), but that doesn't mean that they're worthy of 5 stars, or even 4 for that matter. nothing stands out about their music that separates them from any other "metal" act already out there. i can't even finish the cd all the way through just because it all sounds the same.
if you're looking for something innovative and memorable, you won't find it here.
Beyond Amazing.......2006-01-09
I saw this band on Battle for Ozzfest, and actually got the opportunity to see them live with CYN and Manntis. These guys have more energy than I can even say live, so immediately when this CD came out, I bought it, and all I can say is that if this album was a woman, I would have sex with it in a second.
Every song is amazing, and it's not the kind of hardcore you hear that's really dark and makes you feel depressed, the riffs and beat are pretty upbeat, and they throw a lot of melodic singing into it, so it's not all screaming. A majority of it is screaming, don't get me wrong.
You'll just sit there, air guitaring wishing you were part of the band, going crazy headbanging. It's amazing.
I've been playing guitar for 7 years, and these guys give me a huge run for my money to follow their guitar riffs, even while staring at the tabs.
This CD is amazing, why are you even reading to the bottom of this review? Scroll back up and buy this CD, you better. All I can say is if I was personally selling this album, I would say "if you're not satisfied, you can have your money back" That's how sure I am that you'll love it.

Album Description
Heavy, yet diverse in it's content, this recording has all the qualities of a great cd! No two songs sound the same but there is no mistaking it is CollisionKorse.
One thing this cd has is a raw heavy guitar sound that is still clean, clear and full of power. The solo's are ear piercing and never over effected with reverbs or delays.
