I love this bos set, especially the second one Edelweiss is simply great, it's filled with passion and truly shows the beauty of music.But if you had already bought Ave Maria and Edelweiss please don't buy this one, they are the same, this CD is just perfect!

Wow...That was my first word when I listend to this CD.

I like classical numbers more than like traditional songs of
other countries, so the 1st one was wonderful
(Of course as well as the second one.)

When you want to relax, you may choose the 1st one, but
if you want to be excited, choose 2nd one!!

You will feel as if you were out of this world.

When I received this album, I found that it was much, much more than I had expected. The angelic, pure, innocent yet DEFINED voices of these boys add the spark to your day. (at least to mine!)

The first CD is absolutely beautiful choral music which is really relaxing. I DO prefer boys' singing to adults, because it just sounds so much better.
When I bought the CD, I wasn't expecting much out of the second CD because I bought it for the first CD's sake, but the second CD turned out to be my real favorite.
Not that I don't adore the first one, but the second one is SO IRRESISTABLY CUTE!! whenever I listen to it, I keep on smiling and going "awww. isn't this cute!"
It is REALLY sweet and fun to listen to. I just LOVE this CDs and want to give 10 stars out of 5, but obviously there are limitations, so..

Well, if you like choral music, you won't regret getting this one.

What can really be said about this two CD set except "Wow." The tone quality and emotion contained in the music is incredible, and I don't think there's another boys' choir out there who can match it. The rendition of Schubert's "Ave Maria" alone is worth buying the CD. Amazing. Between the two CD's there is a great variety of music as well, ranging from the soft, sad "Locus Iste," to Johann Strauss' polkas. There is a piece for every mood. These CDs are more than worth the money and rank among the favorites in my collection.

I'm not a huge fan of the doom metal genre. For the most part I prefer music that is more melodic and upbeat. Still, there are times when only something unrelentingly heavy will do, and that's where a band like Candlemass fits the bill perfectly.

Candlemass's 1989 album Tales of Creation is the band's fourth studio album, and was the final album to feature titanic vocalist Messiah Marcolin - at least until their short-lived reunion and self-titled release a couple years ago. Tales of Creation is an album that carries on in the same lumbering mammoth doom metal vein as previous albums Ancient Dreams and Nightfall, but the band's sound is a bit more refined. Musically, vocally, and production-wise, Candlemass is in top form here. There aren't any instantly memorable songs like "Bearer of Pain" or "Bewitched", but the album as a whole tends to work quite well. The album also seems somewhat more fast-paced than previous efforts, with some almost thrashing riffs and a very flashy instrumental track called "Into the Unfathomed Tower" that, title aside, probably leans more toward power metal than doom.

Tales of Creation is arguably the last truly great Candlemass album, and remains a must-have for doom metal aficionados.

This is the best album that Candlemass has ever produced. It doesn't have any classics such as "Ancient Dreams, At the Gallows End," or "Mirror Mirror" but there is so much power and emotion on this album. Messiah is at his best, the riffs are darker and heavier than ever and the production value is top notch. You still have the epic drums and crushing guitars accompanies by the piercing solos. Lyrically this is a great album as well.

Overall this is the best this band has ever produced (in one man's opinion). The album flows well and is the only album where I can listen from start to finish and be equally amazed. I think the album "Ancient Dreams" is their second best so if you are a fan of any of Candlemass's earlier works, this will make a nice addition.

Also, give their new album a few spins. It has a tendancy to grow on you.

Candlemass is so corny that it works just perfectly. Dark mystical lyrics accompanied by sledgehammer guitar and thundering drums coalesce into a satanic dirge not to be outdone. Classic opera styled singing sounds evil, is evil!

The 2002 reissue of Tales of Creation features digitally remastered sound, expanded liner notes with lots of pictures and other info, and a second disc full of bonus demos and interview tracks. The bonus material is interesting enough; though it's doubtful you'll find yourself spinning the bonus disc more than once. The real reason to buy the reissue is the much improved sound quality, which takes the already high-quality album to a whole new level.

Candlemass were probably the first metal band to out-doom Black Sabbath with their plodding riffs, spastic solos and deliciously operatic vocals. The Swedes seemed entirely earnest in their pursuit of the highest levels of metal cheese, and there is no doubt about their technical proficiency. Tales Of Creation is their concept album about... well, it's not entirely clear, but I like it! It doesn't really have any anthemic songs like Mirror, Mirror or At The Gallows End, but all the songs are good and the production is excellent. The 2001 remaster has finally made it to the US (5 years late, but at a much more affordable price than the import) and does the album credit, sounding as good as I remember it sounding on vinyl 17 years ago (if not better). I'm not nearly as much of a metal head as I was back in 1989, but I still enjoy metal done well - and this album is a fine example of that concept. Worth anybody's time, in my opinion!

    I'm not a huge fan of the doom metal genre. For the most part I prefer music that is more melodic and upbeat. Still, there are times when only something unrelentingly heavy will do, and that's where a band like Candlemass fits the bill perfectly.

    Candlemass's 1989 album Tales of Creation is the band's fourth studio album, and was the final album to feature titanic vocalist Messiah Marcolin - at least until their short-lived reunion and self-titled release a couple years ago. Tales of Creation is an album that carries on in the same lumbering mammoth doom metal vein as previous albums Ancient Dreams and Nightfall, but the band's sound is a bit more refined. Musically, vocally, and production-wise, Candlemass is in top form here. There aren't any instantly memorable songs like "Bearer of Pain" or "Bewitched", but the album as a whole tends to work quite well. The album also seems somewhat more fast-paced than previous efforts, with some almost thrashing riffs and a very flashy instrumental track called "Into the Unfathomed Tower" that, title aside, probably leans more toward power metal than doom.

    Tales of Creation is arguably the last truly great Candlemass album, and remains a must-have for doom metal aficionados.

    Tales of Creation was released in 1989 and is Candlemass's 4th album. To the Candlemass fan, this album is essential for it has fan favorites as "Under the Oak", "Dark Refelections" "Somewhere in Nowhere" and the title track. This album has the recognizable slow, sorrowful bass and guitar riffs and the operatic voice of Messiah Marcolin, the drum seems to beat slow, doomy, masterful. I think that anyone that is into Doom metal really needs to check Candlemass out, they are unique sounding and atleast for the first 4 albums, have the coolest album covers I have ever seen. Get this album and let the doom flow...

    Candlemass has absolutely created a beautiful, powerful, emotional and brilliant work with "Tales of Creation." From the majestic intro that segues like a great movie sequence into the first song, to the very last sound, you are in for an exquisite Metal ride. The guitars are simply amazing - melodic and powerful, with exquisitely constructed solos. And, of course, Messiah Marcolin's voice is a touch of gold that elevates these works to heavenly heights. If you like your Metal melodic, yet powerful, with soaring operatic vocals, this is absolutely for you.

    Whether it's Pink Floyd for the Mello, Rage Against the Machine for the Angery, there is no better band to mother your mood, than Candlemass. I personally prefer those Candlemass releases fronted by Messiah Marcolin. His operatic bellowing of Candlemass' Doom-style lyrics, accompanied by heart pounding, soul tearing guitar riffs draw you in to a place you've never been, yet crave to stay. Trust someone who listens to everything from Bethoven to Slayer, this is a TRUE musical experience!
