4 out of 5 stars Megapowerballadopolis.......2006-05-05

What happens when Journey meets The Babys? A "new" supergroup consisting of ex-Babys John Waite, Jonathon Cain, and Ricky Phillips, who combine with ex-Journey guitarist Neal Schon and little-known drummer Deen Castronovo to produce the quintessential power ballad band. Not that there's anything wrong with that in this case - I still have both BE albums in rotation. Waite and Cain continue their songwriting collaborations from their Babys days, with Schon contributing on many of the tracks on the album. The combination of writers seems to be the key that keeps the band from sounding too much like either The Babys or Journey, but ironically enough their best-known single "When I See You Smile" was written by an external songwriter. The album is produced by Richie Zito so the production quality is slick, albiet pretty typical `80s style with big drums. The one exception is the single, which sounds like it was produced to sound the best being broadcast by an AM radio station through a 4" speaker, which, if I know the industry, it likely was.

This is an album that will likey satisfy most Babys and John Waite fans, and may even attract a few more who found The Babys a little too light. Both Bad English albums are comparable in quality and content with the second being maybe a bit harder, but they're both good enough.

2 out of 5 stars Bad English inspires the odd bit of bad French.......2006-03-21

Yes yes we all know the mega hit When I See You Smile. But it would be unfair to put this album into the one hit wonder basket and instead review it as a whole.

The band hits gear pretty early with Best of What I Got but after that it's pretty bad. How Possession ever became a hit I've not idea. Well, where I come from it didn't, but in the US this mob had a string of soppy power ballad hits.

The production is good but the fire goes out for most of the album. Neil Schon is a great guitarist but it was the late 80's and the guy obviously knew what he had to do for a decent paycheck. Besides, he probably wanted some revenge on Steve Perry so he really wanted to make some cash. Pity, listen to some of the guitar licks here and there is a decent hard rock album in the man. Rockin' Horse for example.

An interesting additin to the AOR landscape, and some of the music is lively. But when the whole thing has as much heft as a lettuce leaf it just doesn't get my vote. Even my devoted AOR fan girlfriend of the time only liked the one track (we all know which one).

But hey, if AOR is your bag you could do a lot worse!

5 out of 5 stars mid career comeback.......2006-02-06

To my surprise in early 1990 I heard the song "When I see you smile" -or WISYS to Waite devotees- coming from the flat above. I had bought the album about 6 months previously and had just assumed that it would be ignored as about 5 Babys and 3 Waite solo albums had been.

Waite sings on all the tracks and says Neal Schon's guitar playing is so good it's hard to believe it's a human being playing!

The band put two albums together and enjoyed touring and playing to stadium sized audiences. Waite had problems with corporate music, as a consequence the band never became a "power" in the music scene.

4 out of 5 stars A strong melodic hard rock release.......2005-10-20

Bad English's self-titled debut was released in 1989. The band combined the forces of Journey members Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain with ex-Babys lead vocalist John Waite, who was best known for his 1984 hit, "Missing You." Spawning three hit singles as well as several tracks that made the rounds on album-oriented rock radio, the album was a big hit at a time when hard rock and especially power ballads were in vogue. However, like many "supergroups", such as Asia and Damn Yankees, they peaked with their debut album and their subsequent album would lead to their inevitable breakup.

Bad English has a very big production reminiscent of the era and the material presented is strong throughout. The #1 hit "When I See You Smile", with its instantly recognizable keyboard line, is one of the best power ballads of the era, and also one of many written by songwriter extraordinare Diane Warren. The power ballads "Price of Love" and "Possession" were also big hits and are nearly as memorable as "When I You See Smile." The lesser known AOR hits include the solid melodic hard rockers "Forget Me Not", "Heaven Is a 4 Letter Word", and "Best of What I Got." The remaining songs, while not nearly as memorable, are still very good, whether it's the hard rock of "Lay Down" and "Rockin' Horse", the pop-rock of "Tough Times Don't Last" and "The Restless Ones", or the closing ballad "Don't Walk Away." After this album, the band's next album Backlash was met with just that as their sound was falling out of favor to the grunge movement and gangsta rap. However, the band really put it together here and fans of good melodic hard rock will enjoy this.

4 out of 5 stars Sometimes bad is good.......2005-09-03

Bad English was the supergroups of supergroups. Okay, it was really Journey and ex-Babys vocalist John Waite. Although that particular combination caused a commotion in the melodic rock community, causing their debut album to skyrocket to number 21 on the Billboard charts. I have to say, not too many rock albums start off with horn section, but that's just what the group does on "Best of What I Got". It just goes to show the brass balls (get it) that Bad English had to combine that with a sweet Neal Schon guitar phrase. Waite breaks his pop-rock label and shows that he can rock with the best of them.

"Heaven is a Four Letter Word" stacks crunchy guitar riffs over strong melodic vocals, topped by a harmonious chorus. Schon goes flying around the neck of his ax during his solo. You gotta love that power breakdown. Not too many people know this, but "Forget Me Not" was the first single released for the album. It really didn't win the masses over. The song that broke the group of course was "When I See You Smile", which eventually shot to number one on the Billboard charts. This was also the song that more or less pigeon-holed the band as a balladeers. When you hear the catchy keyboard intro, you know instantly what song it is. The song seems cheesy today, but I'm willing to bet it was one of the most requested slow dance songs in 1989.

On "Price of Love", Schon throws in soulful guitar runs any chance he gets, because this one is mainly Waite in front of emotionally driven keyboards. Instead of going all out on the chorus, John keeps things on the soft side. Deen Castronovo's drum work compliments Schon's rapid-fire licks on "Ready When You Are". I guess that's why he landed a spot in the current version of Journey. There's lots of energy given by all on this one. "Rockin' Horse" is a sexually-charged anthem that relies on blues rock riffage, a driving drum beat, and soulful vocal melodies.

The Verdict
Sometimes bad is good. Bad English's debut outing will always remain one of the best `supergroup' projects of the last 20 years.

5 out of 5 stars REAL MUSIC !.......2006-05-11

Bad English was a band comprised of REAL musicians who knew REAL music. The songs on this CD collection are some of their best, but actually, EVERY song from their two studio albums could be included here! They simply never recorded any filler tunes. And contrary to the "pruduct description", Bad English WAS NOT a hair metal band! Of course, to today's limited musical intelligence ANYBODY who had ANY hair at all is now catagorized as "hair metal". Get this CD and discover what REAL music sounded like before the current pathetic era of the musical dark ages began.

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST!.......2005-06-10

Use logic! John Waite and journey combined! Need I say more?!!!
Brilliant songs, unreal musicans, Waite's vocals = HEAVEN! It would have been nice to put the 2 albums together in their entirity.

4 out of 5 stars Good selection of Songs from this Danish Import.......2005-03-05

The CD has a great selection of songs from the band's heyday, but no notes inside this CD brings it down--there are pictures but no names of the players and no information on each song-what album it came from or whatever--no information on the band either. Usually with a greatest hits album there is some key information the band making the album a better buy. Great sound however as imports usually sound great. Buy this if you are not interested in the makeup of the band or other information.

3 out of 5 stars CD HAS 2 GREAT SONGS FROM THE LATE 80s.......2005-01-28

If you think, like I do, that some of the greatest american songs come from the period 1987-1992, this is an album you must have. The songs WHEN I SEE YOU SMILE and PRICE OF LOVE are really wonderful. I live in Spain and those songs bring me great memories from the years when the show AMERICAN TOP 40 was heard in Spain, and those songs were very popular here. Thanks for giving me the chance to write here.

5 out of 5 stars Delightful Disney Music.......2007-03-28

These Disney tunes done in the style of classic composers are so much fun. Children and adults alike will enjoy these songs over and over.

5 out of 5 stars Uncle Walt would be quite honored!.......2006-12-20

For many a baby boomer, Walt Disney meant animation. But, besides that, music played an important part in the telling of the story. So interested in music was the animator that he fashioned one of his greatest triumphs ("Fantasia") on the works of the great masters.

Well, Donald Frasier and a bevy of musicians have compiled a wonderful collection of interpretations of familiar Disney tunes, many from Walt's time, along with a few latter day compositions.

Every selection is a winner, destined to make the listener reflect and recall the films from which they came. And if one is familiar with composer whose musical style is "copied" here, the album is a treasure.

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous CD.......2006-10-04

Being a classical music connoisseur, I often listen to my local public classical radio station to hear the works of the great composers of old and of today. One day the station played "Colors of the Wind" and announced it was from this CD. I fell in love with it. I am a huge Disney fan who has over 350 Disney songs on my iPod. Pretty much the only music I listen to is either classical or Disney. And having them combined makes this CD euphoria for the ears.

Each song is in the style of a different classical composer, and usually in the style of one of their more specific songs. One with a trained ear will hear chords and melodies in almost perfect similitude of the original.

I can listen to this CD over and over and never get bored. How could you be bored when you're hearing all of your favorite old Disney songs in a new exciting way?

4 out of 5 stars sleeping to Disney.......2006-07-30

I am really pleased that there is a classical music cd that has only Disney classics so that I can play them for my infant daughter while she sleeps. We are big Disney fans and it's fun to play these instead of the regular classical music. They sound just like the original songs. I would have given 5 stars but I wish they would have had all instrumental music, one of the songs has a choir singing, but it still sound good.

5 out of 5 stars this is a treasure.......2003-05-11

Disney music is always uplifting. Classical music is beautiful. Combine the two - and you get THIS! "Colors of the Wind" is glorious, followed by the enchanting title track. "Beauty and the Beast" is true to the romance of the original. "The Second Star to the Right" is magical. Everything is awesome - and flawless. I initially bought this because I love The Main Street Electrical Parade music, and that is definiely a highlight here - but so are ALL the other songs! This is GOOD STUFF! It is so excellent that it can be a very beneficial introduction to classical music - for kids AND adults.

5 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece.......2005-03-06

I have been collecting records and CD's of The Baby, Journey & John Waite. When I first heard about this group I thought it's just one of those experimental albums that most great artists do. The collaboration of ex-Journey Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain and ex-The Baby John Waite is truly amazing. Neal Schon's guitar blend still spells a Journey-ish thing but clean and a bit agressive. John Waite's unique rock voice is really wonderful. Generally, the band is great! I would recommend much to rock fanatics to get this 2nd album of Bad English. It's one star better than their first. Try also Neil Schon & Jonathan Cain's solo albums. Cain's pretty good in New Age genre.

4 out of 5 stars Typically good rock to listen to..........2004-01-21

Bad English primary attraction to myself is Neal Schon, one of the truly great guitarists. People mention Journey, but the group and music is not very comparable, except for Neal. Schon is always good, his playing is not over powering like some guitarists, but his solos are impressive, unique and melodic. The rest of the band are accomplished muscicians which makes a very easy on the ears style of rock - comparable more to Toto sound. The only reason I don't give 5 out of 5 is the songwriting - nothing special there.

5 out of 5 stars Timing is everything.......2003-11-12

The only problem with this alblum is that it was released in 1991. By then the new grunge rock had seeped into the MTV brains of the new youth generation and the rock of the 1980s was old news. No one really cared. Except for people, like me, who will always love the music of the 1980s. If you loved Journey and/or the Babys then this is a must buy. It is just as strong as Bad English's first alblum. But, due to it being the 1990s got very little airplay.

5 out of 5 stars very good, still not quite as good as the first.......2003-11-05

While I gave it 5 stars (cause I love Bad English) I have to say that unlike other reviewers, I don't think this CD is better than Bad English's debut. NO SONG can top "Possession" or "Forget Me Not", though "Straight to Your Heart" comes very close. That song, as well as "Pray for Rain" are the only songs that I really like on this entire CD. I think most of the songs sound similiar. Another great group to check out that reminds me a lot of Bad English is "The Storm". Their debut came out in 1991. If you can find it and it is still in print, you really need to get it.

5 out of 5 stars Better Than The First!.......2003-11-03

10 great songs and not overblown like the first Bad English release. Not a bum track on here. My favorite is "So This Is Eden", which is a great melodic rock song to crank up in the car. Neil Schon sounds positively inspired on this release and John Waite lyrics are better than usual.

The line between evangelist and entertainer has always been somewhat indistinct. But as showcased on this 43-track, double-disc collection culled from his '87-'96 recordings for Elektra/Nonesuch/Atlantic, Michael Feinstein's dedication to spreading the gospel of the American song often blurs it beyond recognition. While the singer's pedigree for the task is impeccable (a long-term stint as Ira Gershwin's assistant and early career sponsorship by Liza Minnelli), his interpretations often succeed by playing off a tense axis of fervent emotionalism and a joyous sense of irreverence.

If his readings of romantic standards can sometimes tend toward the precious, they're often balanced here by sheer dramatic power and telling insights ("Isn't It Romantic" fairly bristles with ironic chauvinism) and a few loopy curves ("The Mole People," the Sherman Brothers' "The Ugly Bug Ball," and the previously unreleased "Rhode Island Is Famous for You"). Feinstein's dedicated song archaeology is also showcased on several gems: "Violin," a duet with Liza Minnelli; "My Favorite Year," a rejected ballad for the film of that name; the sublime "lost" Gershwin classic "Ask Me Again."

Sprinkled with live performances (the forum where Feinstein's talents seem most energized) and studio outtakes and featuring a lengthy print interview with the singer, the set chronicles both the pioneering efforts of one of pop music's most successful revivalists and, crucially, the cream of his beloved American songwriters, from stalwarts Gershwin, Berlin, and Porter to later legends like Herman, Styne, Lane, Martin, and Mercer. --Jerry McCulley

This album has some GREAT songs on it; sophisticated swing being one of my favorites. However many of the other songs are too operatic and lame. I give three stars but this album is definatly worth it just for some of the better songs.

5 out of 5 stars Your love for this superb collection will be here to stay..........2002-07-18

The magnificently talented Michael Feinstein has made one wonderful album after another for nearly two decades. Now that Elektra and Rhino have put together this anthology, I am blown away by the versatility and diversity in Feinstein's recorded output. Such amazing rare gems, combined with the most beloved favorites in the history of American Popular Song. Assembled with wit, intelligence, and obvious affection on the part of the record company, this set is a keeper. You'll love it!

5 out of 5 stars He's done it again.......2002-07-15

Is there anything this man can't sing? This collection is so varied as to be the definitive collection of songs for any occassion.

This is perfect background music for a dinner party for a whole group but especially for two. Light, romantic and just gorgeous. You just can't go wrong when Michael Feinstein is your musical choice.

Way to go Michael, you've done it again!

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely 'S WONDERFUL!.......2002-06-10

There are very few contemporary performers who can hold their own with the truly great interpreters of American popular song. Michael Feinstein is truly the ONLY performer of the "younger" generation who really understands what these songs are all about. His incredible knowledge of this music, and his enthusiasm and passion for it have fueled his career. Rhino Records has done a truly outstanding job of putting together an anthology that exemplifies why Mr. Feinstein has become so beloved by audiences around the world. The packaging is excellent, and filled with interesting photos and background information about many of the selections.

This collection not only contains all the favorites one would expect, but a neat group of surprises too. I especially love the duets with people like Liza Minnelli and Rosemary Clooney, and the various collaborative efforts with songwriters like Jule Styne and Burton Lane accompanying Michael at the piano.

This collection is a classic to be treasured. Bravo Michael!
Bravo Rhino!

5 out of 5 stars A beautiful 2 disc CD-another hit for Michael.......2002-06-09

I have every CD Michael has ever made and this is by far one of the best ones because of Michael's range in singing and his wonderful singing voice. I love his duets with Rosemary Clooney and Liza Minelli. He is a wonderful performer on this double CD and am looking foward to the next CD.

two albums mask of smiles I think his best, rover's return a little softer. top songs from the 80's, twenty years ago john waite was one of the best. now I wish that he would come back with a fantastic new album 2007, I hope so.

5 out of 5 stars WHAT A DEAL !!!!!.......2003-11-18

That's exactly what you get ! A great deal by gettin' 2 of John Waite's best albums. I have looked for them for quite some time, and finally, to find them both in one disc...almost unbelievable...
Well, just "These times are hard for lovers" in crystal-clear cd sound is worth the money invested in buying the album.
But there's more than that...a lot more.
"Every step of the way" is a great 80's fm song; "Welcome to paradise" is a wonderful ballad, alongside "Sometimes".

"Laydown","She's the one","Act of love","Encircled"...too many great tracks to mention...
Ok, there's no "Missing you" here, but then again, you won't find it in any other John Waite record, or in any other artist's album. From his 80's work, these are my favorite albums. If you're into the 80's sound, this is a great opportunity for you to get 2 classic albums from a guy who knew (and still knows)how to deliver wonderful love-related songs with powerful rock anthems. This is John Waite at his best...in the 80's, that is.

5 out of 5 stars Best 2 Waite LP's on 1 cd.......2003-08-03

I'm so glad to see these 2 cds in print. These are my 2 favorite John Waited cds. Most of the songs on both cds are solid rockers, but I do prefer Mask of Smiles of Rover's Return. There are excellent melodic rock tunes from start to finish such as JUST LIKE LOVERS,THE CHOICE,NO BRAKES,WILD ONE,SHE'S THE ONE,ENCIRCLED,ACT OF LOVE,DON'T LOSE ANY SLEEP(also recorded by Starship in 1987 as well). The song JUST LIKE LOVERS could have been a huge hit single in my opinion. The fast rocking song NO BRAKES is a great song to [turn] up while driving down the highway with the window down. This is great music for a great price.

5 out of 5 stars John Waite-- King Of Love Songs.......2003-02-14

John Waite is quite simply in touch with love and lovers and has undoubtedly proven so over the years. If you are a fan of meaningful love songs then I strongly suggest you listen to Mr. Waite's songs.

5 out of 5 stars John Waite - Mask of Smiles/Rover's Return.......2001-07-27

John Waite has enjoyed a remarkable career headlining such renowned groups as The Babys and Bad English, frequently showing up on movie soundtracks, and regularly resurfacing as a superb solo artist. He's probably best known for his 80s mega hit Missing You. But the pairing of these two long out of print albums gives us several more similar Waite songs that are comparable to Missing You, although equally striking on their own. Mask of Smiles brings us two Waite classics - Every Step of the Way and Just Like Lovers. These two songs stand above the other tracks and if they were the only tracks on the album, they would be well worth the price of admission. Other notable tracks include Welcome to Paradise, Lust For Life and You're the One. Rover's Return gives us Act of Love - which, if Missing You is John's best, then Act of Love is arguably his second best. Other tracks of note are These Times Are Hard For Lovers, Encircled, Wild One, Don't Lose Any Sleep and She's the One. John Waite fans will revel in the fact these two albums are finally available on CD. This will surely win him many more fans in his long and illustrious career.

5 out of 5 stars Fine reissue of a classic set.......2006-05-24

Think about the stupidest, most formulaic Hollywood movies you can think of: cheesy action pictures, fluffy, unfunny comedies, big but stiff epics. Now imagine that one of the greatest living composers was working in Hollywood, turning out astonishing, hauntingly beautiful and stirring musical scores for these throwaway movies. That's what you get with this set: music Henry Purcell composed for some two dozen often utterly forgettable plays (trust me--I've read a number of them!) Occasionally, when he teams up with a playwright worthy of his stature, such as John Dryden, Aphra Behn, or William Congreve, the results are even better, but for the most part you can enjoy the music here without knowing anything about the original plays.

This set originally appeared as separate LPs in the 70s and 80s, and has been long out of print. That's a pity, since Purcell spent a good deal of his short professional life in the theatre, either writing the incidental music contained on these CDs, or the music for his larger works, the semi-operas (King Arthur, The Fairy Queen, and the like). Almost all of these works are enjoyable gems; certainly, they represent a pinnacle of English 17th century music. Purcell had a genius for spinning musical gold out of the most leaden lyrics (check out his Odes and Welcome Songs on Hyperion if you don't believe me), and he does the same with the song texts in these plays.

Hogwood and the AAM offer clean, listenable performances, and the sound on these old analog discs has been cleaned up and brightened--although they were pretty good, even in the late 70s. As with most Hogwood, emotional extremes are kept to a minimum, so the "otherworldly" nature of late 17th century music, so often emphasised in more recent Baroque performances, doesn't come across here. It would be interesting to see what a group like The King's Consort would do with this music, but this set fills the major gap in the Purcell canon quite nicely.

My only beef with the reissue, as with many reissues, is that the liner notes are rather thin for a 6-cd set--the lyrics to the songs, for example, are especially missed. Still, it's a worthwhile set, and a must for fans of Purcell, English Baroque music, or anyone who just wants to experience a taste of the last days of the Restoration stage.

5 out of 5 stars Best solo album he has done.......2007-07-15

This is the best solo album Neal has ever done! Great from start to finish. Every track is a winner. Neal shows that he is truly one of the greatest players on the planet!

5 out of 5 stars Passionate, Intimate, and Uplifting!.......2007-02-26

I am a guitarist, producer, and engineer of 25 years. This CD has been my number 1 for the past 16 years since its debut -and I would be hard-pressed to find a replacement. Midnight blues with a touch of sophistication is the only technical way to describe this. Neal just pours his heart into these songs with every note he plays.

5 out of 5 stars Dark, but sweet.......2005-12-10

I have to admit I can't get enough of Neal Schon. I especially love the song "Softly." Neal isn't the greatest singer in the world, but his singing voice isn't the point. Something about this song speaks volumes from the heart, and it touched mine.

5 out of 5 stars Wow.......2003-10-08

I had been lookin for some good soulfull instrumental guitar music for some time. I had found several good ones but Neal Schon is at the top of the list with his long soulfilled sweeps
that puts him at the top. It is increadable to hear over and over.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect CD, a MUST for ANY Record Collection.......2003-09-14

Not only are the all of the tracks excellent, but they are also set up in such a way that they flow into each other perfectly. For these reasns, this is one of the very few CD's that I play all the way through without using the random program setting.

However, even with all of the good tracks, there are a few standouts. These are "Softly" (my personal favorite), "I'll Cover You" (gritty melodic rock), and "Smoke of the Revolution" (interesting music and lyrics, in a good way).

This album I got at Disneyland Paris. I saw it and just knew that I had to have it. It's classic disney tunes in the style of the great composers. And it really do remind of them. As a lover of classic music and disney music, this couldn't be a better album.

4 out of 5 stars A Disney Classic!.......2000-03-09

This cd is a great introduction for little ones into the world of classical music. My children ages 6 and 4 have "worn out" their first copy of this lively cd. If you enjoy disney music, this is a must for your children's music library.

5 out of 5 stars "Blow Mr. Rico, Blow!!!!!!.......2007-06-29

Yes,unfortunately the excellent tracks by Madness aren't on the CD. What everyone fails to mention though are the extra tracks that weren't on the original vinyl edition. Nearly the entire, very excellent, "Too Much Too Young" EP by The Specials ( AKA ) is found here. As is another track by The Selecter "Carry Go Bring Come", which also wasn't on the original release. So the CD isn't quite the same without Madness, it's still great. But what do I care as I have both. Now put on your loafers, wingtips, creepers or jack boots and start Moon Stomping!!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Great but incomplete.......2004-01-29

The original Dance Craze album introduced me to ska almost 20 years ago. The album changed my life, encouraging me to search out albums from all the bands: The Specials, The Selecter, Madness, Bad Manners, The (English) Beat (sadly, the Bodysnatchers only put out singles, so I couldn't get anything for them in the States). Unlike a great many live albums, this one really communicated the frenetic energy of a live show.

When they re-released this album I was excited to have the opportunity to replace my original worn out copy. While it is still very good, all of the Madness tracks have been removed. I know this is probably a contract issue, but the Madness tunes were some of the best. It leaves a BIG hole in the flow of the album.

Sooo, while this is still a great primer for folks who are new to early 80s British ska, try to track down a copy of the original. Better yet, try to track down a copy of the video. It's got 2-3 times as many songs, and you get to SEE how great the bands were, and how they really got the audiences dancing.

5 out of 5 stars skad for life.......2003-03-20

Due to contract problems Madness are not on the CD,Only on the now hard to get record.Still a great CD.Some of the best 2nd wave ska captured on this recording. The movie comes up for sale in scootering mag,s from England now and then ,but to be honest its not very good. Also if you get it from England you will need to change it over to watch it on north American TV,s.I dont think it was ever produced in the American version? Also look for World of SKIN,a great documenty from UK,and Made in Britain [a skinhead film].....HOPE THIS HELPS

5 out of 5 stars One of the Great Ska Albums.......2003-02-26

This CD contains some of the best of British Ska, or at least some of the best Ska bands recorded on 2 Tone. It's hard to beat live versions of some of these classics, and in fact, songs like Concrete Jungle (the Specials) and Mirror in the Bathroom (the English Beat) on this CD are superior to their studio counterparts. This is a wonderful sampler and a must-have for any Ska fan.

3 out of 5 stars Good, BUT missing something!!!.......1999-08-11

I bought this album way back in the day and wanted to have it on CD, but it's missing MADNESS!! I'm glad I still have the original album and the video! Dance Craze is still a good CD because you can't get a better compilation of British SKA than this.
