CD. Miss Jones should be careful which guitar players back her up. She should stick to Bill Frizell or maybe she should try Mark Knoffler, if she can get him away from Emmy Lou.
Glad i bought it ( Part II )...!.......2007-06-20 I knew that Nora Jones was good music but i had no idea just how good...My sister-in-law bought me this CD for Father's Day...i have listened to it 3 times today. The way i would describe her lyrics and delivery is equal to "Musical Rose Petals". So smooth and so inviting is her voice. I really love the Piano work also. Her birth name being "Geethali",Nora Jones along with the likes of Michael Buble have added a nice,new,fresh selection of music to today's currently enemic sound. This album made her only the second artist ever to sweep the "Big Four" being Album,Song,Record,& Artist of the Year at the Grammy Awards in 2003. Standouts for me include: "Come Away With Me","Don't Know Why", and i really like her rendition of Hank Williams SR.'s "Cold,Cold Heart". With her throw back to Billie Holiday/Roberta Flack days voice coupled with a very welcomed piano based style, Nora Jones can take me away anytime! If you've waited to give her a listen ,as did I, do yourself a favor and don't wait any longer.

Good, but not the best.......2007-06-17 "Feels Like Home" is a welcome addition to any fans' collection. I gave it four stars simply because I did not think it was as good as her first or third CD. If you like Norah's other work you will like this CD, but if you don't have extra money or you would like to introduce yourself to Norah Jones purchase "Come Away With Me" or "Not Too Late" instead.
a snoozer.......2007-06-09 Wonderful intimate voice,great musical heritage, extremely monotonous songs....great if your trying to lower your bloodpressure or achieve REM state. This ain't jazz it's elevator music.

what else is out there. The world is vast and there is much to explore. (Your Metamorpho has recently discovered old, pub drinking folk tunes- and you said my musical taste was not eclectic!). Regardless, many Seer moons ago some friends of mine played Sinatra for me and then, as they say, the rest was reflective history.
This man is an absolutely incredible and astounding vocalist. Perhaps, one of the very best in the 20th century. You just have to listen to him, the cool smooth sometimes swingin', sometimes the serious and somber timbre of his vocals. What makes him so special anyway? It's how he phrases the lyrics, how his soft blanket of enunciation and knowing the right emphasis to use creates a very high standard that others hope to achieve. It is hard to define Sinatra so that you'll understand. But, if you're not too familiar with him, then this c.d. will help make it clear. It's everything: his vocals, the band sound, the arrangements. This is so fine- and so very classic and quality. Let's pour a drink, relax, and listen to Sinatra. So easy and wonderful on the ears.
Of course, as you would expect, this C.D. is filled with songs by the greatest songwriters of all time. Cole Porter,Johnny Mercer, Rodgers, Cahn-VanHeusen, Sondheim. We have exceptional compositions here. Plus Frank's later hits, "Strangers In the Night", "Summer Wind", "My Way", "New York, New York". The c.d. is a joy with great renditions by Frank. I especially like "The Best is Yet to Come" with Count Basie and his Orchestra. So cool, so jazzy, so Frank.
This is a great starting point by merely scratches the surface of his excellence. I suggest getting the box set of "The Capitol Years". That is his essential classic phase with arrangements by Nelson Riddle. You just can't get any finer music. Take my word. And even then, there is much more about him to discover. The best IS yet to come.
In conclusion, your Metamorpho, from time to time, needs to forget the rat race out there. Frank is a refreshing oasis of sound in sometimes a desolate music scene. He will always be this - for the ages. His legacy is cemented and will always be the best as more generations discover him.
Jazzy, suave, essential - this is Sinatra.
Very high marks for this one.
Now you must excuse me- Frank calls and a martini awaits me.

I really like this cd.......2007-05-14 This cd is great because it has alot of my favorite songs. My favorite track is stranger in the night. I recommend this cd to anyone who likes Frank.
Sinatra is God..........2007-04-21 Of Jazz singers anyway. I don't even know what to say. He is the best Jazz singer of all time in my opinion (sorry Billie), and this is his best disc. Sure there are other cuts that are must haves, but as a compilation there is no comparison... This is the best one. It's a great place to start a Sinatra collection, or if you just want a single disc of his best stuff.

Not as seen on TV........2007-03-12 Firstly, this is not the two-disk set you've seen on TV. It is just one CD. So bear that in mind when pondering your purchase. That said, it is a decent compilation of some memorable hits from the last eight or ten years and makes an excellent gift for that friend or family member we all have who just can't move on from their highschool days. A solid C.
Somewhat happy.......2007-02-13 I thought this was the same CD version as the one I have seen on the TV commericals. This is the shorter version. I wasn't aware of that until I opened it.
Wrong CD Listed Online.......2007-02-07 I bought this CD thinking it was the 2 CD set I saw in the commercial, and I was wrong. It is a single CD with only half of what the TV version has.
good.......2007-01-22 the songs are great, but its not the 2 cd music from the tv. it was dissapointing in that sense but other than not having all the songs. its great.
upset.......2007-01-20 When making the purchase I was unaware that there was both a double disc and a single disc version of this product. When i researched it I only found the double version. I thought I was buying the double version and did not see any disclaimer that there are different versions and I needed to check which one I was buying. Had I known this was a single disc version, knowing only about a double disc version being available I would not have made the purchase.

Order Up Parrot Head.......2007-07-12 This is a great collection. All of Jimmy's favorites plus many less known songs. I am really enjoying the Parrot Head Handbook that comes with the set. It gives details about Jimmy's life and each song on the collection. This is the perfect way to become a parrot head. Way to go Jolly Mon! Grab your favorite boat drink or cajun martini and enjoy.
Ultimate Buffett Collection .......2007-07-02 Most certainly the Ultimate Buffett Collection. Just the Ballads CD is almost worth the price of admission - and you get three other CDs with the songs nicely categorized.
4 stars because these could stand to be remastered from the original tapes -- brought up to speed so it sounds great on your iPhone.
On my 2nd one.......2007-06-03 We wore out the "Boats" CD so I am now ordering one for the house and one for the truck. This particular CD (Boats) has all my favorites on it so I have listened to it countless times over the past 3 or 4 years. I will let my husband have the older copy and I will keep the new one. "A Pirate Looks at Forty" is my favorite, followed closely by "Havana Daydreamin" "One Particular Harbor" "Changes is Latitudes". I really love the old stuff but I also have most of the newer CD's as well. Needless to say, I highly recommend this purchase.

A MUST for every Parrothead CD collecion.......2007-05-08 I have really enjoyed this collection. I DJ at a country/western night club and I insert Jimmy Buffett album cuts into my play list and my customers really appreciate it. This is a broad collection of songs that are categorically put on different theme discs which make it quick easy refernece for me when needing to find a particular song fast. I also enjoy putting a disc in my car CD player to fit the particular mood I am in. They help me relax and keeps me on a pretty much permanent mental vacation. This is a MUST for the casual and hard-core Jimmy Buffett fan.

The 2 CD Set is a Better Bargain If you Count the Songs Correctly.......2006-07-15 I just wanted to correct the reviewer "Tanya" who stated that the 2 CD Platinum Edition only contained 20 songs versus the 18 on this particular edition. The set with 2 CD's is a GREAT value because it includes 32 songs, not 20!!!! It helps to count the entire song list when comparing the CD's.
The 2-CD Edition includes the following songs that are not included on the edition with only 18 songs:

The petite T720i fits in a pocket but still offers some big features, such as a large, color screen; GPRS data transfer that supports EMS, SMS Chat, and MMS; and downloadable games, graphics, and ring tones. Possibly the most exciting feature of the T720i, however, is the included digital camera attachment, which lets you take photos from the phone itself and wirelessly send picture messages.
This phone has a sleek metallic gray exterior and a delicate clamshell design that requires a little more care than Motorola's more rugged phones, such as the V66. When the cover is closed, an external LCD screen conveniently displays the date, time, and caller ID, plus signal and battery strength. When the flip phone is opened, the stunning 4,096-color screen is revealed.
The 7- to 9-line screen is a large enough palette to take advantage of some of the phone's key features, such as viewing photos, surfing the Web, or playing rich Java 2-powered games. (MotoGP is included, but more are downloadable from Motorola's Web site.) A button centered just under the screen takes you to the main menu, which has an intuitive iconic interface. This button is flanked by two other navigational buttons and another round, multi-directional button below helps you navigate through the menu or get right into four different features from the main screen according to your preference. Buttons are well-spaced but the multi-directional joystick-like button was a little bit difficult to control, even for small fingers.
The T720i was one of the easiest phones to set preferences for that we've encountered. We programmed all of our buttons to go to the features we used the most and found it very handy. In addition, we customized the color of the main screen to pacific blue, a color choice that offered the best contrast, and set our screen saver to an EMS file of a devil. For our ring tone, we chose Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water," which, with the rich harmonies of polyphonic ringers, sounded almost like the original. The phone comes loaded with 50 different ring tones, so you can choose a more conservative ring or download additional choices.
The sound during calls was a little bit tinny but not overly so. Our tests of the voice-activated dialing proved excellent. We recorded the name of our contact with a child screaming in the background and the phone still detected the contact's name later in a quiet room and dialed her number. The 720i holds up to 500 phone book entries, which is a large amount for the average caller. However, phone numbers and email addresses for one contact are stored as separate entries, filling up those 500 slots much more quickly. While a small letter icon designates which of your two entries is the email address, we still found it confusing.
We sent a text message from the 720i to a friend from our address book and got a quick response, confirming that data transfer was fast. Inputting the message was tedious, but the phone includes a handy list of 10 Quick Notes with common text phrases, such as "Where is the meeting?" and "I am late and will be there in __ minutes." You can even compose and save your own phrases to save time on keying them in.
The hot feature on this phone is its ability to take photos using the camera attachment. The picture-taking feature seems more fun than functional, but might be appealing for professionals such as home inspectors or insurance adjusters who need a cell phone and lightweight camera for their work. The camera snaps onto the bottom of the phone and has an 180-degree rotating lens to photograph everything from shoes to sky and store them as jpeg images in 640 x 480 resolution. It stores up to 48 pictures at a time, which you can then e-mail to friends or view on the T720i's color screen as a photo album or slideshow. The only downside is that the digital camera shares memory with other digital applications on the phone, so storage space is limited.
Overall we think this is a great phone for early adopters who want all the most recent innovations in one phone—Web access, Java 2 games, MMS, and a digital camera. It's great for business use but the hip features will likely appeal more to the social cell phone user. <I>--Cristina Vaamonde</I>

<b>How We Tested Battery Talk/Standby Time</b>
When reading our reviews, you should view the test results of mobile-phone battery talk time and standby time as relative information only. Many variables, including carrier signal strength at your location, signal consistency (including incoming and outgoing calls), display and ringer settings, and battery charging methods and history, will affect performance. When handset manufacturers and mobile phone carriers list talk-time and standby-time ratings, they usually include disclaimers about variable performance and often refer to the times they publish as maximum times. Some quote expected battery life ranges, and in this case you're probably safe to assume you'll experience at least the minimum rated range. Note that manufacturers of dual-mode digital and analog handsets publish battery-life rates for both digital and analog modes, as analog mode consumes much more power than digital mode.
<b>Our Tests:</b> We tested digital-mode talk and standby times with each phone. Prior to each test, we fully charged the phone's battery according to the manufacturer's directions. To test digital-phone talk time, we turned the phone on, established a digital carrier signal, dialed a number in our test lab, and, when the call rang through, took the receiving phone's handset off the hook. When all went well, we didn't do anything else except record the time when the phone died. In a couple of cases, the phones lost the signal and dropped the calls. If we were right there and could redial, we did so immediately and continued running the test. Otherwise, we halted the test, recharged the battery, and started the test over. Assuming consistent carrier-signal strength, this test should represent best-case talk time. And it's worth noting that several phones' talk-time performance significantly exceeded the manufacturers' ratings.
To test digital-phone standby time, we turned the phone on, established a carrier signal, and left the phone in standby mode. We checked the phone every few hours (for what was often days on end) until the phone finally cut out. Since no outgoing or incoming calls occurred during testing and because the phone was not moved, this method should represent best-case standby time, again assuming consistent carrier signal strength.

double-check with your carrier that it works in YOUR country.......2004-12-12 I gave this baby **** stars rather than ***** because it COSTS an
amount which could feed a 3rd world village for a spell. Motorola
makes it, so you KNOW it's well-made. Beware: although this phone
might work over the T-Mobile network stateside (48 US states), it
does NOT work within the USA over the Nextel network. Nextel does
recognize/enable it OVERSEAS, but not 'here' BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
In case you do not know whether your carrier here or its partners
overseas allow this cell phone to work where you intend to use it
DOUBLE-CHECK with your carrier BEFORE you commit yourself to one.
Needless to say, get whatever assurance of same in w-r-i-t-i-n-g.

n "old school" jazz and pop. And not that a cross between jazz and pop couldn't be good music, but this one just really isn't. It seems that he is trying to transition between musical genres, and is falling flat on his face in the process. I have listened to it again and again trying to make myself like it, but it just isn't happening. Save a few tracks, the songs on this album are rather uninspired and dull, and I fear that these days Jamie Cullum really does "Want To Be A Popstar"...
Better voice, less hooks.......2007-03-16 Cullum's voice and musicality are better than his last album but the tunes don't hook me they same way as the stuff he&Ben wrote for "Twentysomething."
However,this is still an enjoyable album with lots to like.

I wish Amazon would start packaging as the previously did, just last year. I had to order this and seveal other things twice just to get an undamaged copy. PLEASE aamazon return to the days when you cared about items arriving undamaged.
Good but not as good as Twentysomething.......2007-02-04 It has a permanent place in my CD mix.

1940's-Romantic Decade.......2007-07-27 I am throwing a 40's party for my parents and this music is perfect. It is such a romantic decade. Yes it was all about the War but the music had heart and soul behind it. THis CD is wonderful. It has a good mixture of artists and songs.
