Good Enough.......2004-05-23

Not exactly marketed to harcore fans, Blue Öyster Cult: On Flame With Rock And Roll is just good enough to wet your palate. It has three Blue Öyster Cult songs that every fan should know (Don't Fear The Reaper, Burning For You, and Godzilla)as well as a few surprises for new fans (Career Of Evil, Cities on Flame With Rock & Roll). Personally, I really don't think you can beat the price - it's reason enough to pick up this great compilation.

The Best Of BOC.......2004-04-23

I am not a hardcore BOC fan, so this CD did the trick for me. I bought this disc for Burning for you and Don't fear the reaper. I ended up being quite impressed. There were another few tracks that wern't that bad. The CD satisfied my needs, but only gets three stars due to the fact, that it's about a 60-70 percent CD.
This is a great buy though for the price if it has the BOC songs you're looking for (which I'm sure it does)

Cult blue oyster........2003-04-08

As you may have seen, there are numerous BOC collections around. For the non-fanatic, this is probably as good as any. Most importantly this has the three essential BOC tunes. Those being "Burnin' for you", "Godzilla", and the great "Don't fear the Reaper". Other less recognizable tracks on here are not quite as good, but the majority still rock, and I'm glad I know them now. The other big plus to this package is that it's dirt .... So if you want a low cost, single disc "best of" from BOC, it's "On flame with rock n' roll".

Go Go Godzilla!.......2000-07-17

I love this CD because I grew up listening to this stuff. My mom still has "Some Enchanted Evening" on Vinyl and when I was a very small child, I would sit in the floor and eat this stuff up! Too bad I scratched the album jumping around on the floor while "Godzilla" played. I was a chunky child. LOL. Anyway, my very favorites are "Godzilla" and "Don't fear the Reaper" because they sounded sweet even on Vinyl and they hardly ever play them on the radio. I was amazed at how much clearer the songs are on this CD than on my mom's old vinyl album. Just goes to show you how times change. Rock on.

The second best BOC compilation.......1999-10-30

This CD flat out rocks...BOC will NEVER grow old. This is their second best compilation CD, second only to "Workshop of the Telescopes," for the more educated BOC fan.

This is the radio-friendly BOC cd...it has the big three, all penned by the greatest lead guitarist ever, Donald "Buck Darhma" Roeser. Plus it has some good Albert Bouchard-penned songs, like Dominance and Submission and Career of Evil, along with Pearlman's masterpieces Transmaniacon MC and Cities on Flame.

Folks, if you think BOC's only good songs are Dont Fear the Reaper, Godzilla and Burnin' For You, BUY THIS CD and be BLOWN away. It was the first album that got me into this band, and I only bought it for Dont Fear the Reaper. Your in for a treat if you get this CD.

I tend to agree with allmusic.com's album ratings, though I would rate this comp as a 4 star, not 3 star, collection. It is brief, with only 10 songs, but still, 10 great songs. It's a good little grouping of songs from the B.O.C. and makes for a satisfying listen. They cover MC5's "Kick Out the Jams", and included in allmusic.com's album review:
" what you have is a bare-bones collection that nevertheless is the best BÖC greatest hits album available. In fact, we would make it the "pick" BÖC record if it really were easily available -- Special Products releases tend to turn up more in discount bins in convenience stores than in record stores, so there's no guarantee you'll be able to find this release."
