From Amazon.co.uk
First of all, hats off to Bon Jovi for trying something different with This Left Feels Right--a selective collection of their most popular songs with a twist. That twist isn't a purely acoustic reworking, MTV unplugged style--anybody looking for that experience will be sorely disappointed by what's on offer. What Bon Jovi have done is re-record these songs in a completely different way while maintaining the original lyrics, melody and song structure. What's different then? Well, quite a bit actually. Check out the almost trip-hop beat and distorted vocal of "Wanted Dead or Alive", or the lazy soul of "Livin' on a Prayer". "It's My Life" is a beautiful piano-only standout, almost worth having the whole album for.
The tracklisting isn't perfect, concentrating largely on their 1980s period (there's nothing from These Days, for instance). As such, the venture works as an effective cheese-extraction exercise, keeping the elements that made the originals so great, but removing shouty, hairspray-fuelled "whoa-yeahs". What we get is something that is closer to Jon Bon Jovi's last solo offering--the criminally underrated Destination Anyway. It doesn't always work ("Bed of Roses" just sounds like a warbling cover of the powerful original and by the time they reach "Always" it's obvious they've run out of new twists), and no doubt there will be legions of bemulleted faithfuls who will denounce this as blasphemy of the highest order. Sure, it's probably just record-company filler, but it's a worthwhile investment and you won't be embarrassed to have it on when your mates come round. --Cortman Virtue

don't waste your money.......2007-07-23
I HAVE LISTENED TO BON MJOVI SINCE HE START3ED HIS CARRER AND I NEVER THOUGHT HE WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS. I WAS SO EXCITED BY THE TITLE MI COULD HARDLY WAIT TO HEAR IT. IT WAS SSSOOOOOOO BAD.....I COULD NOT REDCOGNIZE A SONG UNTIL IT WAS ALMOST HALFWAY THRU. ONE SONG SOUNDS LIKE THE NEXT...IF YOU DON'T MIND LISTENING TO HIS MUSIC AT HALF THE SPEED THEN THIS IS FOR YOU, THERE IS NO EXCITMENT IN THIS MUSIC AT ALL. I LISTENED HOPING HE WAS SRARTING MELLO AND WAS GOING TO JAZZ IT UP NO SUCH LUCK...THIS IS ONE CD OF BON JOVI'S I COULD DO WITHOUT.
The point?.......2007-06-28
So let me get this straight...all of Bon Jovi's hits were gathered together, chopped up, and destroyed to produce this piece of trash? How about an ACTUAL greatest hits album?
Disapointed.......2007-06-25
I did not like any of the songs on this album. It really only ranks 1 star, but I'll give a point for trying something new.
"This left feels right" sounds like it was done by a high school cover band trying to be artistic. Ranks WAY below Tesla (see "Five man acoustical jam" for those of you younger then 30).
I am a Bon Jovi fan and bought this without reservation. I suggest you sample the songs before you buy.
Love it........2007-05-09
I love this album. I also love the original songs. Sometimes you feel like a nut; sometimes you don't. For those who are gasping at the supposed blasphemy of messing with classics, well, if this is all they have to worry about, their lives must be pretty good and I'm happy for them. As for me, I'm impressed that Bon Jovi took a bit of a risk. I think it worked out nicely. I'd happily buy more of this style from them.
What a let down!!!!.......2007-03-22
I was SO disappointed when I listened to this CD! It's a remix of the songs. They are done acousticly and it is not worth buying. I love Bon Jovi, but this was a HUGE disappointment! I am not happy with this CD at all.

Avoid!.......2006-07-26
Wish I had looked into this CD more before buying it. I found myself skipping each track as they had ruined each song... And before I knew it, the CD was done.
This Left Feels Right.......2004-05-04
For most people the first time they listen to this cd, they are in shock. It is a great departure from Bon Jovi's usual sound. In every album they have made they have grown in expression and dimension. This album is an even greater growth. Yes, the sound is different, and it takes a little getting used to, but if you really listen to the songs and the way the band portrays them, they are wonderful. They have taken their music and creativity to an all new level. As an avid fan club member, I was even shocked and almost apalled the first time I heard the cd, but then I realized this was not meant to replace the music we all love, but to expand on it and look at it in a broader spectrum.
Why?.......2004-04-09
This Left Feels Right (2003.) A collection of Bon Jovi remaking their older tunes.
In the eighties, Bon Jovi made a name for themselves as one of the finest power rock bands of the decade. They shelled out hit after hit, and it seemed as if they were the band that could do no wrong. But come 1988, and the band entered a downward spiral from which they have never recovered. In 2003, the band decided to try an interesting little experiment - Remaking their older tunes with their newer sound. How does this experiment work? Read on for my review.
After listening to this album, I felt like crying - and I DON'T mean tears of joy! Bon Jovi has taken the masterpieces that made them such a great band, and turned them into pathetic, wimpy ballads. Ever since 1988 the band has continued to go downhill, and this album is pretty close to the bottom of the barrel. Admittingly, some of these remakes aren't terrible (hence the rating of two stars instead of just one), but if you're in a band and you undergo a massive sound shift, you NEVER redo your older work! Metallica stands as a fine example of this phenomenon. I also think it is stupid that the band added the "Greatest Hits With A Twist" subtitle to this album, because it is NOT a hits compilation. If you're a fan of EVERYTHING Bon Jovi has ever done, then check this out. But if you're only a fan of their hard rocking tunes from the eighties, like myself, keep clear!
I could not have been much more disappointed with this collection. Why do bands keep redoing their older songs and ruining them? This concept NEVER WORKS! The best advice I can give you is to listen to this album BEFORE you buy it, even if you're a die-hard fan. You don't want to waste money on something you're likely to end up hating.

Customer Reviews:
What a Major Let Down.......2004-04-29
I've been waiting for ages for a Bon Jovi live concert where all my favourite hits are played - From the set list on the DVD cover I thought "This is it" but this one is mostly unplugged, acoustic and I think quite frankly, rubbish. I cannot imagine anyone enjoying major Bon Jovi rock numbers played on spanish guitar. Worst part is there's nothing on the DVD cover to tell you it's all unplugged stuff which means lots of schlepping back to the music shop to exchange it if you're not happy. A packaging rip off I think.......!!
