Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Excellent folk/doom metal.......2007-06-20

As a huge fan of both Celtic/Irish folk music and most forms of metal I hoped for good things from this band, but the execution is nearly perfect. The lead vocals are a noticably accented clean style primarily in English with segments in Gaelic. The songs focus on specific instances of Irish lore around 1014 and the mad king Mael Morda. While the slow pace of doom metal isn't my favorite genre, Mael Morda brings it to life with piano segments, flute, and excellent subject matter. The guitars are suitably crunchy and when the songs do pick up speed they really rock. I was very impressed.
