PIG DESTROYER return with Terrifyer, the long-awaited full-length follow up to their critically acclaimed album Prowler in the Yard. PxDx's frighteningly compelling mix of metal, grind, thrash and punk rock seethes with an intensity that will unnerve the unprepared. PIG DESTROYER's deranged, vicious attack envelops the listener in a cocoon of grisly nihilism. Terrifyer features 32 minutes of PIG DESTROYER's finest music to date as well as the 32 minute audio DVD track Natasha, mixed in glorious 5.1 Surround Sound.

Another nail in the coffin of civilization. Pop the top on another one, folks, sit back, and enjoy the Apocalypse.

5 out of 5 stars Atmospheric Hyper Grind.......2006-07-29

I can't be completely sure of this, but pig destroyer are first grind band to my knowledge to create concept albums. An extremely brialliant idea concidering the results, with the help of lyrics sheets the begining is already fleshed out before you get into the album, then sample's to create the fear, and music which -insert brutal/violent metaphor here-'s you.

While so many prog albums cover very little ground as far as plot goes, this underground metal band takes us through a short story. Not to mention that it's beautifully written.

Musically think a slightly sped up ADD slayer.

Pig Destroyer is much more intellectual than most of the metal pack, but thankfully they are subtle about it, unlike many bands which go out of the way to show how technical, or cultured they are, pig destroyer creates a music which not only is specific to then, but crosses genre's to thrash, grind, and punk listeners.

PIG DESTROYER - Terrifyer
-
This is some dark, twisted and evil music... yet I can't help but love it! PxDx is a 3 piece grind band that fuses many influences and has a sound so thick that it would consume many 5 pieces in their entirety. The blister guitar work of Scott Hull drives the charge while the rhythmically precise drumming of Brian Harvey holds it together. J.R. Hayes, who has my vote for the craziest lyricist vocalist since Today is the Day's Steve Austin, is in charge on the mic, pushing chaotic extreme vocals to new levels with a voice which is brutal yet still (at times) audible.

So what you ask does PxDx sound like you might ask?
Devastation! Destruction! Insanity! Chaos! Violence! The Apocalypse!

........For extreme metal fans only, this is a treat for the ears.

Favorite Songs: Thumbsucker, Gravedancer, Carrion Fairy, Towering Flesh, and The Gentleman.

5 out of 5 stars An enslaught of grind!.......2006-06-29

I remember when I first read about Pig Destroyer and "Terrifyer" the reviewer commented the album as "the soundtrack of one having their spinal cord being removed with a hot ice pick via their neck". As brutal and ghastly as that sounds, so is the music. While so many heavy-classed bands aim for a deathly sound, other a more evil or haunting sound, Pig Destroyer just want you leave your stereo thinking "What the hell was that!" A classic mix of grindcore, crust-punk and heavy metal, "Terrifyer" is a must have in the cd rack of any heavy music fan.

5 out of 5 stars Your neck'll be sore by the time "Terrifyer" is up.......2006-06-23

Riff after crushing(yet headbangingly catchy) riff, throat shredding howls and blistering fast drums all smear together into the huge wall of noise that is Pig Destroyer. It never ceases to amaze me that this 3 piece can create such self-destructive and downright brutal amalgam of grind, thrash, punk and straight-up metal. They even incorporate doom metal on the second disc epic "Natasha" that while is quite a bit slower(it is doom metal keep in mind...) than the first disc it is every bit as intense. Albeit in a much creepier way especially when reading along with the six-page story/lyrics(!!!) provided in the liner notes. Speaking of intensity, as for the first disc...it goes for the throat like a rabid dog does right off the bat and never lets go, just sinking its canines deeper and deeper into your flesh as you manage a choked/gurgled blood-filled scream. And along the way samples from Popul Vuh, Georgy Ligiti, Luc Ferrari and Seclusion are used to effect!! Didn't think the boys in Pig Destroyer would have anything to do with krautrock or avant-garde classical composers now did you? Or even writer William S. Burroughs, as the quote "Everything is true, nothing is permitted" shows up on the last page of the pamphlet. If a fan of heavy music...I recommend you go out and get this...NOW ! Your neck might not thank you but your ears sure will...er...after the bleeding stops that is.

5 out of 5 stars Gotta get the import.......2007-03-14

The Import is amazing with the extra tracks and the Natasha track on CD not DVD just makes it worth the extra money. If your a huge fan of PxDx then you gotta get the cd. I already own 2 copies Terrifyer [now 3 cause of the import] but right when I heard about the Import I bought it right away and I am glad I did. If you never listen to the Natasha track cause you didnt wanna put it in your dvd player and you didnt have 5.1 s.sound then here you go. You get the cd which is awesome still sounds good. And the extra tracks are amazing like I have said. The extra tracks alone are so worth the extra money. Also PxDx new CD is told to be out June 07 if I remeber right so keep your eyes open.
