good ep. should have been a full length.......2007-02-19
This is a good CD. The three studio songs are very gothic and very heavy. 'It's Coming Down' is a great song, but 'The Violet Fire' should have been the opener. That's just my opinion. Trouble is a good cover.
The live material here is great. 'Snakes Of Christ' is powerful and awesome. 'Am I Demon' is a bit of a quick run through but still very powerful. 'Sistinas' is a slower song that goes over well and the crowd probably liked the chance to take a breather from all the moshing. 'Mother' is of course the big 'hit' but i find this performance rather quick and rushed. The bonus track, at track 93, is a remixed studio version of Mother. All they did here was put the guitars on both tracks instead of the way it was divided on the original song. A bit of a throwaway, but still nice to have I guess.
This CD should have been the entire performance from that night. (Halloween 1992) but wasn't. More live tracks from this night ended up on 'Live On The Black Hand Side' from 2002, along with other tours. It's worth seeking out.
I suspect this was only released to promote Mother, which would explain why it was only an EP and not something more. But this is essential and finding a cheap copy should be easy. It's 4 stars. 3 Good studio songs and 4 killer live tracks. Buy and enjoy.
Thrall And Demonsweatlive!!.......2004-12-03
This is a great EP. I think it's Glenn Danzig's best material including The Misfits And Samhain (they aren't at all far behind though). It captures Danzig's best songs. If you get any Danzig CD get this one. It's Going Down is a great song. It's heavier Danzig stuff. I like the shouting in the chorus. Violet Fire is great. It's dark and bluesy and just evil. The lyrics are cool. I think Trouble is an Elvis Presley cover, I'm not sure though. Danzig does have an Elvis/Jim Morrison voice. Snakes of Chirst Marks the point from Thrall to Demonsweatlive. I love it. Danzig's voice sounds great alongside metal. Am I Demon on this is killer. I wasn't too impressed by it on the first Danzig CD but this caught my ear. Danzig throws his voice and really makes a standout It's so much faster than the album version. The backing vocals are crazy. Sistanas is Danzig's ballad and damn is it a great Ballad. The instruments sound great and his voice is so dark and great. Mother doesn't sound that much better live. It's not the live version they play on the radio. I think that's on the Black hand side live. And track 90 sumthin' is the studio version of mother. Which is brilliant. This is a must have for me. I can't go too long without hearing it.
Live goodness.......2004-09-15
I remember watching Headbangers Ball one night and watching It's Coming Down world premiere. Now my friend Adam was a big Danzig fan aand so I had been played Danzig 3 many times and a few listens of the earlier Danzig material. I think I had just started listening to the Misfits then too, but I can't recall for sure.
Anyway, watched the video and thought it was a cool video and a pretty good song. Turns out they were coming to Cincy OH (1 hr from where I grew up) and Adam and I trekked to the show and had a blast. Sadly saw Danzig 9 months later opening for Metallica on the Binge & Purge tour and he was TERRIBLE!
Anyway, great tunes on this disc, especially the live material, which is the real meat of this disc anyway. You can't always count on good quality for live shows but this live stuff sounds very good with some excellent playing. The video for Mother from this album also made rather heavy rotation on MTV.

This CD rules.......2005-01-06
Everything Glenn Danzig puts out is amazing, and this is no exception.
Solid EP from the godfather of ghoul rock.......2004-10-03
This EP, featuring three studio cuts (two originals and one cover), and four live cuts recorded on Halloween night. "It's Coming Down is a plain 'ol awesome track in the classic Danzig fashion, while "Violent Fire" and "Trouble" are solid cuts as well. The live versions of "Snakes of Christ", "Am I Demon?", "Sistinas", and, of course, "Mother", show Glenn and crew at their best, and the sound quality is great; something that the later released "Live on the Black Hand Side" severely lacked. All in all, Danzig loyalists probably already own this, and with the cheap price "Thrall" is worth every penny.
Studio and live mix of darkness........2003-05-06
This is a cool disc. Nothing too special, but worth it. The first 3 tracks are studio cuts. "It's coming down" and "Voilent fire" are good, and "Trouble" is a cover that I've even heard Elvis do. It fits Glenn pretty good though. The next 4 are live and great. All 4 are classic Danzig and recorded on Halloween night. Then after 5-6 minutes of silence, the studio version of "Mother" kicks in on track 93. So, 8 tracks in all. Like the man himself, this might be short, but it definitely rocks.

OH MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-12-27
why his other live recordings dont sound like this is beyond me. the sound quality is superb which is a treat considering the raw sounds of his other material dating back to the misfits. 7 super hits and look at the price on this disc i mean how can you go wrong?...i bought this album used for a penny!
Dark, Bluesy, Gritty and Explosive: Welcome Demonsweatlive! .......2006-02-14
Thrall: Demonsweatlive is a short but oh so sweet compilation of various Danzig tunes, most of which we've seen before. We're blessed with their signature track "Mother" but it doesn't necessarily stand out compared to some of the other gems on here. "Trouble" is a fun tune with a good beat and Glenn Danzig's vocals coming through with a baritone howl that crescends and croons with a clear message.
"Violent Fire" is one of the best guitar driven songs from the band, and it's earth shaking, powerful driving force more or less drives the point home around, over and through Glenn's voice. If this song were in a book, I could only think it something from H.P. Lovecraft. I think it's maybe to dire to compare to a zombie flick movie soundtrack, which again is what makes Danzig so special in the gloom rock of the era..they staned out, alone, and away from the crowd.
Another great track out of the seven is large and wide the opening one, titled "It's coming down". Danzig doesn't get to deep with songwriting here as it's another great track that is laden with the prolific guitar virtuoso we've come to admire from the album. If you want some darker rock/metal that is different from anything you've heard before, and also has some truly great guitarwork, then say no more, and check out Thrall: Demonsweatlive. The musical experience you get from Danzigs dark lil' corner of the musicverse, is well worth the wait!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN........2005-09-15
GLEN DANZIG. WHAT A BEAST. THIS IS A WONDERFUL ALBUM BUT THIS WAS I KICKASS PERFORMANCE. I WAS A WITNESS TO THE METAL GOD THAT NIGHT "DEAMONSWEATLIVE" ON HALLOWEEN IN CALI. HELL YES. GREAT GREAT SHOW AND ON TOP OF IT BEING OUTDOORS YOU HAD ALL OF THE HALLOWS FREAKS IN FULL DRESS COSTUME RUNNING AMUCK ! WHITE ZOMBIE WAS THE GRAND OPENER OF THIS FRIGHT EVENT. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB FOR DANZIG. GREAT ALBUM.
If Your looking for trouble! .......2004-07-31
Thrall-Demonsweatlive is Danzig's classic 1993 studio and live album.
Thrall
On the Thrall part of the album there are 2 of Danzig's heaviest and most powerful songs they have ever released, Its Coming Down and the violet fire. as well as these 2 classic songs on the Thralll section you also get an amazing cover of the classic Elvis song, Trouble(and who better to sing it than the evil Elvis himself?)
DemonSweatLive
the Demonsweatlive section doesnt contain as many live tracks as i would have expected for my money but the live tracks here are top quality in both the sound production and of the classic songs chosen. They play one of my favourite danzig tracks, Snakes of Christ (Lucifuge 1990), the 88' classic 'Am I Demon' from their self titled debut album, the haunting 'Sistinas' off their 1992 album 'How the Gods Kill' and the all time fans favourite 'Mother', which is the best live track ever! Also if you let the cd play on after the end of Mother live (track 7) for about 10 minutes there is the original studio version of mother which is a nice extra. Thrall-Demonsweatlive is a great album for any danzig fan that wants live and new studio tracks.
One of the best albums I own!.......2002-01-22
Glenn Danzig kicks ... in Demonsweatlive! Featuring 2 versions of "Mother" Live and Studio, both sound great! In fact, all of the songs sound great! Dont take it from me, though. Buy this album for your collection and find out for yourself!
