Should get more notice........2007-06-26

How is this one sliding under the radar. MOS mixes a nice blend of death, hardcore and melodicism to create a good modern album of metal. While a little raw around the edges it's got enough talent showing that you know if given time they will become very good at what they are doing. If you are into any of the metal stylings popular today you should check this out. Very christian oriented lyrically but that is not very shocking it seems, what with Underoath and Norma Jean gaining so much popularity. And it's more metal then those two groups so death heads really will find stuff to enjoy. They even throw in some of their native tonque(i'm assuming) by singing in spanish.Check it out.

A One of a Kind Masterpiece.......2004-03-19

If you're looking for some hip new snowboarding music that will be on the next Mountain Dew commercial, you've come to the wrong place. If you're looking for truly twisted and bizarre music, you've come to the right place.
Most listeners will not have the mental strength to listen to this album. If you live in fear of insanity, racism, or violence, this album is not for you.
The same group who made "Deep Inside a Cop's Mind" and "Hatesville" brings "A Sordid Evening of Sonic Sorrows" to you. While the first of those two albums is easy to find, the second one is very rare because of it's content.
However, there are a couple cuts from "Hatesville" on this album, "What If They Gave A Love In and Nobody Came?" and "Race Riot". There's also one track from "Deep Inside a Cop's Mind" on the album. But, those are hardly the best songs on this album.
The first three are the best songs this group has ever recorded. "No Rule", a cover of a Leather Nun song, sounds a little bit like Ministry only much better. The cover of "Paranoid", by Black Sabbath, is not another attempt to replicate the original, but a slower punk version with unique vocals. "Kill Your Sons", a Lou Reed cover, is clear-cut beginning of the darkness the album slowly descends into. But, they don't forget to bring their sense of humor with them.
After those three songs, there are only two more cover songs. The rest is unsettling noise.
The peak of the album is "Goldstein's Out Tonight", Parfrey's version of Blitz's "Someone's Going to Die Tonight". The other great tracks are "Slayer" which has Peter Sotos speaking in an extremely disturbing manner about hippies with a Slayer-esque guitar opening and closing and "Rubber Doll I & II" which is absolutely hilarious.
If you think you know what the underground is all about, think again. These individuals come from the deepest recesses of the underground. Uncompromising, harsh, and nihilistic like the underground should be.

A weirdly amusing mix of misanthropic lounge tunes, featuring appearances by Boyd Rice, Jim Goad, Thee Slayer Hippie and others.

Well, I'm Impressed!.......2000-07-07

This was actually a pretty good CD! Although not all of the songs were A+, there are some notable ones that are quite amusing. "Kill Your Sons" and Ozzy's "Paranoid" are among the duller ones, but the punk-style "Goldstein's Out Tonight" is an excellent tune and the Parfrey's version of Axton's "The Pusher" I find was better than the original. "Rubber Room" and "Wind-Up Doll" were also among the better songs (and funny too!). Most of the rest were throwaways, but overall, the major attraction here is the unique sound that most of the songs have -- you're not likely to get a sonic treat like this anywhere else, and while not for everyone, and not without a certain negative attitude, if you're into oddball stuff like I am, this might provide a few hours of enjoyment.

Good amount of material, but nothing completely new.......2001-07-11

Bruce's Man of Sorrow's single is probably a little high priced unless you are a completist. It contains the Man of Sorrows Orchestral version, which basically dolls up the middle with a string arrangement, the Man of Sorrows Spanish version, where Bruce sings the whole tune in Spanish, as translated by Roy Z. This is one of the highlights to this 5 song disc, as its both interesting to hear how it was translated (pretty basic if you know a little spanish - the title in Spanish translating to the very simple 'Sad Man', and lyrics are included) and to hear Bruce annunciate his Español. There are also two demos from the Accident of Birth sessions on this album, Darkside of Aquarius, where nothing too new is going on, and the surprisingly fresh sounding Arc of Space, where Bruce accompianied by a much more unrestrained acoustic guitar provide a great listen. I like this CD, I just wish some sort of new song was included with it for the price.
