I Love This CD.......2007-03-09

Aimee is an amazing singer, i could go on and on about how great her vocals are, but i'm lazy as a sloth so i won't. This Cd just flows so well and the music can keep you listening over and over for hours on end.

This album was released in 1997 but Human Waste Project established itself long before that. The album just rocks... These guys are basically all over every nu-metal band liner notes, Aimee Echo is so underrated, Gwen is so overrated. She is truly a real woman ICON. Also the hottest [girl] i've ever seen. Check out her new band theStart it features i think atleast one member of H.W.P.

i'd have to say, if i wasn't already in love with jack off jill, human waste project would take the third slot in my list of favorite bands. but they're right up there. my best friend spent a while urging me to download some of their stuff, but i procrastinated. eventually i got around to it, and the first song i heard was dog and i was blown away. the vocals are so powerful, and the lyrics are so raw. they're one of those bands that i absolutely love but no one's heard of them and they never get any attention. but they really are fantastic. if you listen to them and like them check of kidney thieves, jack off jill, the gathering, possibly my ruin and hole. if you like any of those bands check out this one. you get it. they're great.

I have the advance edition of this cd which is called 'electalux' instead of 'e-lux'. I don't know if any of the arrangements or production has been modified but the number and order of tracks is still the same.

I only listened to this album because of the great band name. I was expecting a RATM/ ATD-I style heavy punk style album and was very shocked to hear a girl singing. Being a Cannibal Corpse fan, grrl bands are definately not my thing but i gave it a chance and i have to say that after 2 listens you are hooked.

I agree with other reviewers that the singers vocals are brilliant. The tracks that stick out are tracks 4, 7, 13 and the best track 11. There are no poor tracks.

The style is kind HEAVY/ MELODIC but to say its metal is going to far. The riffs are good and knid of hard rock/ soft metal but its only hardcore when compared to 'No Doubt'. The sound is pretty mainstream and alternative radio friendly but still worth a listen. Pleasantly suprised.

Damn- They already broke up!

Good Death Metal from some of the old school guys, but horrible production........2006-07-03

Suffocation is brutal, evil, and heavy to put it simply. They also have (in my opinion) the best Death Metal drummer around (Mike Smith). I enjoy all of their albums and EPs, but this is my least favorite. The only reason being is the production. The songs audio quality vary from track to track and quite honestly it gets damn annoying. You constantly have to change the volume on your stereo system.

Pick this up if you love Death Metal, but beware of the audio quality on this disk!

Great death metal EP........2006-05-20

Suffocation's first release is a great one. This is old-school death metal at its peak; along with Morbid Angel, early Sepultura, Atheist, Cynic, and Death. Frank Mullen's vocals are harsh, brutal, deep, and not like the typical "cookie monster" death metal vocals, he's up there with David Vincent (Morbid Angel) and Chuck Schuldiner (Death). Doug Cerrito and Terrance Hobbs unleash awesome guitar attacks, much like King and Hanneman of early Slayer, lots of shredding and solos, just the way I like it. Josh Barohn's bass isn't that audible, but it still kicks, you can hear it in "Infecting the Crypts." Mike Smith is an awesome drummer, lots of fast beats and double bass. This is what put Suffocation into the DM scene and it won't be there last!!

Highlights: "Infecting the Crypts," "Mass Obliteration," "Jesus Wept," and "Reincremation."

If you're into REAL metal like Slayer, Atheist, Morbid Angel, and Cynic; you'll love this. If you're into Korn, Kittie, and Slipknot, avoid at all costs!!

Human Waste belongs in any death metal fan's catalog. It is an onslaught of savage brutality and technical genius with one of the most INSANE vocal assaults in the history of recorded sound.

Not recommended for fans of Atreyu, Bleeding Through, Kittie, As I Lay Dying and other generic mallcore fodder, as they may soil their adult diapers.

Has to be the best.......2005-09-21

I have to say this is one of the best death metal bands/album I've ever herd. I love it the best song has to be Synthetically Revived. Drums are incredible, guitars are heavy, bass is excellent, and vocals will rip your ears in two! I would suggest this album before you buy there other albums. Their new album is awsome but this is still old classical awsome SUFFOCATION!! This album is death meal itself.

This is, quite simply, exactly how death meatl should sound. This is THE best production EVER!! Far from clean, it basically captures the essence the best, fastest and most BRUTAL DM-songs ever written! The cover is crude, basic, BRILLIANT and reflects exactly what you can expect sonically!

THE holy grail of true brutal death metal!!!!!!.......2005-06-23

Suffocation is THE best band ever! Every release they put out kills (i know breeding the spawn was decent if it wasn't for the sh*&&y production job). Anyway this is the reason why brutal death metal is my favorite genre and suffocation is the ultimate band. This cd is flawless, every song has the ability to tear your face off kick your ass. And this isn't just pointless noise (mortician) terrance hobbs and doug cerrito know exactly what they are doing, all the scale and modal runs are perfect and the haunting melodies (mostly 5ths) are great. Mike smith proves to be one of the best drummers i've heard, he can keep time with the best of 'em, josh barohn is an increadibly skilled and technical bass player, and frank mullen, holy christ!!, his vocals on this album are absolutely INSANE. This is essential material if you claim to be tommy tough nuts. Now put your head between your knees and kiss your ass goodbye!!! \m/ \m/ \m/

Definitely worth the money.......2004-08-04

Ok, some of you may be like me and thinking "Why would I pay $12.99 (what I paid) for a cd with only 6 songs?" I gotta say, because it is that damn good. 3 of the songs are redone for "Effigy of the Forgotten", one redone for "Pierced From Within" and one more redone for "Despise the Sun", and the original demo they did for Roadrunner. I must say...with the exception of "Syntheticaly Revived" and "Catatonia" these originals sound better. Listening to "Effigy" I find myself hating the vocal quality. I am sure most of you have noticed just how garbled Frank Mullen sounds (similar to a Sega Genesis game) and the drums sound muffled. But, these make up for that. I am almost wishing they did all of "Effigy" in this vein. All the songs on here are worth the money. So, when you see this in a store and see the price tag, don't think about how each song costs $2.165 a piece, think how much better the redoes could have been!

I been a fan of suffocation and yet i haven't been let down...Every from the essences of deathmetal and more can be found right here and the production is topnotch plus i love the lirycs! Over-all nothing short of being amazing. Best songs ? Catatonia & jesus wept, so go get it!

This was a pretty cool ep by these death masters.Ever track on here is good but the production is not the best.If youre a fan of the band then I would recommend picking this one up.METAL RULES!!!
