4 out of 5 stars No Paul Rodgers But Still Awesome.......2006-10-20

Bad Company was awesome in the 70s and even after Paul Rodgers and others left, they still managed to make another great one. This album is way better than one might think. It's nothing like the old Bad Company but it is just as good in it's own way. If you like BC give this a chance and you will be pleased.

5 out of 5 stars It keeps popin up.......2004-07-12

I have over 800 CD's I have switched my Cassetts and vinyl over to CD's. I can put this CD away for a few months and then pull it down and thoughly enjoy it. This CD, no matter where I go, will make it into my CD Case (now MP3 Player!). It's worth it. After you have listened to it a few times then you will want to by more BC CD's. Go with Holy Waters next. I think both of those CD's are the best that BC has done since the old days.

5 out of 5 stars Better than you think........2004-04-17

This album was originally panned by reviewers who wanted the Bad Company of the 1970's and early 1980's featuring vocalist Paul Rodgers. They also complained that this album featured session players who were not part of the original band but still two of these guys were with Foreigner at the time and producer Terry Thomas has done albums with Tesla, Richard Marks, Brian Howe's solo effort, Giant, Foreigner, as well as his own solo albums not released in the US.

This album does however have guitarist Mick Ralphs and drummer Simon Kirke who really rock out this cd. Two previous albums, Dangerous Age and Holy Water rose up the charts during 1987 to
1991 when BC toured with Damn Yankees all over the world for more than 2 years. This cd did not do so well when it first came out because the industry was leaning towards Rap and Hip Hop. The title song ended up on the soundtrack of Surf Nazis which was not widely excepted either. Not that is was such a bad movie just a little silly.

Today Paul Rodgers tours with guitarist Howard Leese of Heart, who produced Soundgarten, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and others from the
Seattle and Vancover area with other Seattle area musicians filling in
his band. Every now and then the original group gets together and tours select cities around the globe. Since Rodgers return in 1997 he has taken control of the band and it's name.

The Brian Howe led Bad Company did release 4 albums including Fame & Fortune released in 1986 and produced by Mick Jones of Foreigner with Thomas lending a helping hand. Howe now is touring as Brian Howe & Bad Company featuring the session players Dave "Bukkets' Colwell and Rick Wills of the newer edition Foreigner. This texture should not be confused with the late'80's and early '90's texture featuring Ralphs and Kirke.

Still this album has some great cuts featuring Ralphs' guitar and songwriting which led the original Bad Company to fame after Ralphs and bassist Boz Burrell left Mott The Hoople to join Kirke and Rodgers after Free guitarist Paul Kossoff died in 1974. Ralphs also toured with Pink Floyd during the Momentary Lapse Of Reason Tour in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

For those of us who enjoyed the Guitar Rock of the 1970's this album is the kind of album we listen to. The band is really good in this form regardless of the bad reveiws it received when the album first came out. It has plenty of great guitar licks and lyrics that sound much different from the original bands sound. A more modern approach by Ralphs and Kirke featuring Howe's vocals which are actually quite good. So for those of us who enjoyed the original group this album should be part of your collection.

5 out of 5 stars YOU MUST GET THIS CD.......2003-09-01

I don't give a %$#@*! about what other reviewers have said about this album and Brian Howe over Paul Rodgers. This CD, in my opinion, is the BEST of Bad Company. In fact, I would go so far as to say that I prefer Brian Howe OVER Paul Rodgers and I own every single Bad Company CD ever made. This CD is similiar to "Holy Water", but better. It really rocks, plus there are some great ballads. The best song is "Stranger than Fiction". One last thing I would like to say is that you can tell it is a good album and a good band when you can listen to a song that was written in 1992, and it still sounds really good today. These songs do not sound dated at all. If you enjoyed the sound of the early 90's, then you need to get this one.

5 out of 5 stars Classic.......2007-05-09

Not much can be said about this offering except you should have it in your collection. Talented musicians coupled with some real fun ideas culminated in a record that few bands could create.

Go get one and hear what I mean!!!

5 out of 5 stars The One Band that everyone Forgets!.......2004-05-20

I have to say that I am aging myself on this, but looking at all the reviews, I am glad that I ain't the only one that remebers this band. I remeber watching the OLD Headbangers' Ball" on MTV and seeing 'Don't call me Dude'. Judt the way that they did the song made me a believer. Then when I heard the album, I thought it was awesome. I must have worn out three of them in as many months. I highly recomend it!!!

5 out of 5 stars a classic!.......2004-04-12

Scatterbrain was one of those bands that deserved more attention than they got. Especially with this, their debut, "here comes trouble", which also happens to be their best. There's plenty of excellent guitar work. 3 of the band members came from the punk/thrash band Ludichrist. (singer, 2 guitarists) Musically, the cd is happy sounding metal/thrash/funk with plenty of catchy guitar riffs. A few covers, including Earache My Eye by Cheech & Chong, Mozart's 3rd Sonata, and a Ludichrist cover called Down With The Ship, in which they play parts of many different songs. Sort of a "name that tune" type of thing. On that track, they play pieces of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendricks, Yes, Doors, Metallica, Van Halen, Aerosmith and one or two others. Not too many people remember this band, but when this album first came out, I was an immediate fan since I was already a fan of Ludichrist. They played in Atlanta twice on this tour and they were great both times. This is a great cd for metal fans to listen to when they're in a good mood. Just an all-around happy, comedic cd.

4 out of 5 stars I'm not going down..........2003-08-28

Hands up if you remember Scatterbrain. OK, there are a few hands there. Hands up if you remember any Scatterbrain songs other than "Don't Call Me Dude". OK, very few.

Yep, poor old Scatterbrain, cursed by that hoary old affliction, the novelty single. "Don't Call Me Dude" is a tale of psychosis induced by the Californian predilection for calling people "dude". Basically, some dude (oops!) steals lead singer Tommy Christ's girlfriend, and every time he hears the word after that he flies into a homicidal rage. Still with me? Listen to the song and it all becomes clearer, Doo-wop intro and outro included.

"Don't Call Me Dude" received huge attention and was also well promoted on the back of a hilarious video. There was a bit more to Scatterbrian than just one song though.

Basically, the whole of 'Here Comes Trouble' is a novelty from start to finish. Scatterbrain was well named, because some of the ideas on the album are... well... random. "Earache My Eye", the comically camp Cheech and Chong number, receives Scatterbrain's odd treatment. "I'm With Stupid" is a song about growing a second head, which happens to be brain damaged. "Down With The Ship" is kind of an oddity, borrowing and sampling from other songs. Not just a few songs, a LOT! It's fun to play "spot the riff" while listening to the song. You'll hear Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, and quite a few others I can't identify. There's also a whirl through Mozart's "Sonata #3". So much for side one.

Side two is much the same - a tribute to Tommy Christ's willy, a poke at censorship, the infamous single, and finally a tragi-comic beatnik take on why milkmen shouldn't drive drunk.

So what's the music like? Imagine Faith No More on happy pills and you won't be far off the mark. Far from the heaviest thing you'll ever hear, Scatterbrain skirts a fine line between thrash and funk metal. The guitar pairing of Glen Cummings and Paul Nieder are highly versatile, bassist Guy Brogna could slap it with the best of them, and drummer Mike Boyko seemed to enjoy his double kick drums.

Unfortunately, Scatterbrain sank from view, not through lack of good ideas, but seemingly through poor timing. If 'Here Comes Trouble' had been released a couple of years earlier and they may not have been drowned in the plaid clad grunge tide.

4 out of 5 stars techincal -- yet fun to listen to.......2003-07-20

If you like the tight musicianship of King's X, the "Goodtime Party Boys" image of the OLD Chili Peppers, Infectious Grooves, or the hard funk of pre-Angel Dust Faith No More this album is for you.

5 out of 5 stars Super-Charged 200 MPH Rock & Roll Thrills .......2005-02-11

The Eyeliners really came into their own on Here Comes Trouble. Their earlier album Confidential has some excellent songs and exhibits their trademark ultra-high-energy delivery, but Here Comes Trouble turns up the level of songwriting, the musicianship and the production values by several notches each.

It's difficult for me to express how much I love this album. There are so many truly great songs - Party Til The Break Of Dawn, Rock-N-Roll Baby, Do The Zombie. It was hearing Rock-N-Roll Baby for the first time a few years ago that sent me madly pogoing around the house and started the process of turning me into a passionately devoted fan of the band.

If you have a delicate heart condition or the idea of having too much fun scares you, you should probably stay away from Here Comes Trouble. Everyone else, please give The Eyeliners a listen. These girls are true keepers of the rock & roll flame...

5 out of 5 stars Rock on Punk Ladies.......2002-09-19

The Eyeliners are a kick...punk band from New Mexico. Sisters no less. Not only are they a sight for the eyes, but also a sound for the ears. This being their second full length release, it has even more rocking. Influenced heavily by the likes of The Ramones and Screeching Weasel, these ladies are all out attitude. From "Here comes Trouble" to "Finished with You", there isn't a dull moment on the whole album. ... They have so much energy and it all comes out in their music. Energetic, guitar charged pop punk. I love every song on this album. People should deff check this and the Eyeliners other albums out as soon as possible. Put the cd in ... and have a ball. Also, be sure to stop by their web site, ... Rock on!

4 out of 5 stars Confidential is better.......2001-12-13

Ideally, I would have given them 3.5 stars if that was possible.
Generally, this is a really good album and fun to listen to, marred by the cliche ("Here Comes Trouble" -- "I do what I do with an attitude/'cause you push me way too far") and the self indulgent ("See You Tonight"). Compared to Confidential (which you can find on other online sources even though it's not available on Amazon), I find this a cut below, but it's still the recognizable pop punk of the Eyeliners.

5 out of 5 stars The best album of 2000!.......2000-12-26

I saw these girls open for Screeching Weasel at the House of Blues and they blew me away! I bought the Here Comes Trouble CD at the show, and I haven't stopped listening to it yet! This is a great CD - 14 classic pop punk rock n roll songs!! Fans of Screeching Weasel, Ramones, Teen Idols, etc. will love this album. Buy it - you won't be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars Punk Rock Sisters.......2000-08-25

They were on tour with Teen Idols and when they played, they really got the crowd going, all the boys drooling over them, all the girls dancing to them, they really played a great show! I bought their CD at the show and it really kicks. Their voices sounds really great together especially cause they're all sisters. I really recommend it to anyone that listens to punk! (o^_^o)

4 out of 5 stars Not a bad cd by Charlie........2005-06-03

This is not a bad cd. While I like all the others by them better, this has some really good songs too. There's a couple of songs that are just ok. First the good songs. The best ones are Writing On The Wall, There You Go Again, Jealous, I'm A Consumer, & Five Years. The ok songs are Mind Your Own Business, Don't Let Go & a another song called Don't Stand In My Way(not the same song that's on In Pursuit Of Romance). Writing On The Wall is classic Charlie. It sounds like Good Morning America and Killer Cut. It also has three hidden bonus tracks(All My Love, Fool For Your Love & Just One More Chance). All in all this is a good cd. Just not quite as good as the other Charlie cds. This was released in 1982 in Europe only. It wasn't released in the USA until 1998. If you enjoy Charlie's other cds you will enjoy this one as well.

You can't go wrong with Pearl's "Here comes trouble" ! It rocks from start to finish with no filler. Great singing from Pearl and fabulous playing from her top notch band. This is her definitive album. I don't know why this album wasn't a hit on the radio ?! It's ready made for it in all the right ways. I sure wished that she would record a brand new album. Pearl, where ever you are please record a new album and return to playing live again.

        5 out of 5 stars "wish i were her!".......1999-06-21

Great record, they dont have any bad songs that i've heard. Puts on a great show also! You were great at the hootinanny in '98, and the cramps show at the House of Blues later that year!! Sexy red white and blue outfit, at the former! You can be my hoochie-mama any time you want!

5 out of 5 stars One of "The" Best Rock n' Roll albums around.......1998-10-02

Not a bad song on the whole album. Pearl at her very best ! It rocks from the start to finish!! Why this album isn't played on the radio is a mystery to me ?! You won't be disappointed with "Here Comes Trouble".

        5 out of 5 stars Brilliant work!.......1998-08-09

Pearl and her boys from San Francisco are the best! If you've never seen them live here in SF, you have missed the boat!!!!! These guys rock like there's no tomarrow.
