Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Ginger Is God..........2007-05-15

Being a huge Quireboys fan, I was reading some press on em' one day in an English mag; saw Ginger was booted out of the band for doing too many drugs...what a surprise! So after reading further and discovering Ginger now had his own band, I proceeded to order it off AMAZON. About a week later, the disc showed up. How can you combine metal riffs, pop vocals, great production, intelligent lyrics, and songs you can't get out of yer head? Hell if I know, but the WILDHEARTS have done it. Made me such a fan I have purchased all their goods. This is a great starting point for the virgin Wildheart fan. Why this band isn't on the radio is a no-brainer; RADIO SUCKS! But why the WILDHEARTS is not in everyone's CD player is an absolute tragedy. This band rocks and never will let you down. And just when you think you have em' figured out, they hit you with another revelation of brillance. God bless da' WILDHEARTS!

1 out of 5 stars come on?.......2005-09-07

this is an awful commercial band. nobody actually like it. the lyrics are bad, the vocals are bad...they cannot even play! well you may like it but i don't!

5 out of 5 stars Suckerpunch rocks !!!!.......2005-05-01

All you need to know about this album is "She.... got me.... with a sucker...sucker...sucker...right...(...) !!!!" This album rocks from start to finish, it's great fun and is the songI was listening to when I got nicked for speeding down the motorway !!!

5 out of 5 stars The result of adding the best ingredients to the mix........2004-11-13

This is one of the top 5 records of the 90's hands down. If you don't own this, it is not your fault. The only reason anyone here in the states knows of this band is word of mouth. Lack of promotion and absolutely no airplay destined this to the used CD bins. What a shame but everyone I know that owns this has picked it up second hand. The music has some great crunching guitars, blitzkrieging drums, smart and cynical lyrics and harmony vocals to make you realize that a band does exist that care about product and the music they produce. the harmony vocals remind a little of The Beatles but the guitars and beat are just so strong. Every song here is a winner. It is a shame American radio can't bring us this kind of stuff. Clear channel won't play this and Now they are American FM radio. The language maybe a little strong but if G 'n' R and Metallica hasn't damaged you with their language, you will be fine. Look at the song titles and then you will realize this is no ordinary band. You will play this for years to come. Check out their new stuff as well. No need to thank me, you are welcome!

5 out of 5 stars Wildhearts Win!.......2004-06-09

I can't really figure out how to describe the Wildhearts. I guess I can hear some New York Dolls/Johnny Thunders/Heartbreakers, as well as a harder rockin' version of The Replacements, a lighter rockin' version of Lemmy with a little bit o' Beatles thrown in for good measure; and that's just a start. If those flavors wet your appetite pick up this cd if you can find it. The only thing I can think of that would improve this album is a few more guitar riffs & solos. When the guitar does rip, it indeed rips, but not quite often enough for my "metal" tendencies.
In any contest, I'd pick the Wildhearts as the favorite every time.
