Guitar-Driven, Innuendo-Laden Hard Rock.......2007-07-05

George Lynch's sonic guitar work leads the charge of Lynch Mob's "Wicked Sensation" album. I got this disc way back when it first came out and it quickly became one of my favorite hard rock albums. The title track and "All I Want" are two of the most obvious sex-tinged rockers you'll run into from the early 90's. "Dance of the Dogs," "She's Evil But She's Mine" and "Hell Child" are all excellent rock tunes as well. "Rain," "Sweet Sister Mercy" and "Through These Eyes" are especially good and highlight Oni Logan's vocals.

The entire album is a wonderful treat from the era that Grunge killed. If you've never heard it before, I highly recommend you check it out. Fans of Dokken, Motley Crue, and Skid Row will definitely enjoy this one.

George Lynch!!!!.......2007-04-09

Besides being a mega Dokken fan,Lynch Mob is right up there. Bought this album for the first time on cd and it rocks!!!! Standouts are ,"Wicked Sensation","River of Love","Sweet Sister Mercy","Hell Child","Dance of The Dogs" and "For A Million Years".Too bad,the album wasn't a smash,because it should have.Lynch is great!!! One of the most underrated guitarists ever,in my opinion.If you are a big fan of Dokken or for that matter,George Lynch,pick this one up.It will amaze!!! Brings back great memories.

Lost Gem.......2007-02-08

I picked this up just yesterday on CD but actually had bought it on Cassette when it first came out in back 1990. This album as a whole is really good so I'm surprised that it didn't do better than it did. My personal favorite tracks are "Wicked Sensation" which I believe there was a video for), "Sweet Sister Mercy", "All I Want", "Dance Of The Dogs", & "No Bed Of Roses". So if you like "Dokken" or just like heavy blues rock 'n roll, do yourself a favor and pick this up..the whole album is good. I might also add their second album simply titled "Lynch Mob" is pretty good as well, they do a killer version of "Queens" "Tie Your Mother Down" on that one.

A good follow-up.......2007-01-17

A good follow-up to their debut album. If you mix the two albums together and play all the songs, you won't hear any difference.

Solid post-Dokken effort from George Lynch.......2005-04-15

Wicked Sensation (1990.) Lynch Mob's first album.

Following the classic Back For The Attack album, guitar virtuoso George Lynch left Dokken, the band he'd made ever-so-successful (he'd later go back but would eventually leave again.) Teaming up with his Dokken bandmate Mick Brown (drums), Oni Logan (vocals), and Anthony Esposito (bass), he formed a new band - appropriately called Lynch Mob. Although half of the band was (at the time) former Dokken members, the sound was quite different - it was blusier than Dokken, and had more of a nineties rock sound to it than Dokken did (though the band's styles changed a good deal on later releases.) Read on for my review of Lynch Mob's first album - Wicked Sensation.

Lynch Mob's debut is VERY different sounding from Dokken, but it's still good stuff. One interesting thing about this band is that they would change their sound on practically every other album they released. Here we've got bluesier hard rock, not unlike that of Badlands or Blue Murder. Now, onto the music. The title track kicks the album off. It's a hard power rocker with that early nineties power rock sound to it that you're sure to love. Excellent opener. River of Love also has a nineties sound to it, but this one is a little more "pop friendly" than the previous track. Lynch serves up some killer riffs. Sweet Sister Mercy is yet another hard rocker. As you may have suspected, George Lynch is one again the highlight of the band (but don't overlook the other guys - they worked just as hard!) All I Want is a melodic hard rocker that, like so many tracks on this album, features a nineties rock sound. Good track. Hell Child is slower than the previous ones, but it rocks just as hard, thanks to Mr. Lynch. It's not a slight melodic touch to it, and it is reminiscent of Ronnie James Dio's hit Dream Evil. If you're not familiar with Dio, that's a good thing. She's Evil But She's Mine is another one of the album's slower tracks. Once again though, it rocks just as hard as the rest of the album, and scores no less in the quality department. Dance of the Dogs is a hard rocker that features a sound similar to the one that a number of bands would use toward the end of the nineties, similar to bands like Guns N Roses and Stabbing Westward. It's yet another good track. Rain features a classic eighties power rock sound. And if you've heard Dokken, you know that George Lynch is the MASTER of eighties power rock. A classic power rocker is followed up with another classic power rocker, No Bed of Roses. And once again, it's a track that almost certainly won't fail to please. Through These Eyes is a slower-paced hard rocker, similar to the ballads that bands like Motley Crue and Guns N Roses did. It surprises me how well these guys did a song of this style. For a Million Years is an eighties-based power rocker, but there is some major nineties rock influence present. Another good track. The band closes out the album with Street Fighting Man, the heaviest track on the album - featuring some of Lynch's best riffs to date. Don't overlook this song because it's the last one - it's one of the best!

Sadly, the Lynch Mob catalogue is long out of print. All of the band's albums have become scarce and tough to come by. Hopefully the record companies will correct this someday, but don't get your hopes up. Chances are you're going to have to hunt high and low to find most of them.

Lynch Mob's debut album is an excellent album, hands down. If you're a fan of George Lynch's material with Dokken, then Lynch Mob is worth checking out - their early stuff anyway. Just remember - this IS NOT Dokken, so you'll need to listen with an open mind.

Wicked Precision.......2004-01-03

Being a huge Lynch fan (like so many other guitarists), buying this one was a no-brainer. In my opinion, this is the best Lynch ever!

Its refreshingly different and more modern sounding than Dokken. George maintains all of the raw engergy of previous while taking the guitar to the next level with crisp new tones and incredible guitar work. It sounds a bit more wet, yet crystal clear and every song is at least very good, while the others are awesome. The lead on "All I Want" is paralyzingly incredible while the one on "Hell Child" is TOTAL DOOMSDAY!

Also, everone else's performance and the sound production are all excellent. The drums and bass are tight, precise and inspiring. The singer (a "Hell Child") is overflowing with raw engergy and will bring some listeners to tears on "Through these eyes".

This is one of my favorite heavy rock cd's of all time - if you are a Lynch fan, but it now and then CRANK IT!

Nearly 10 years on, still a brilliant guitar album.......2002-01-23

I was a huge George Lynch fan when he was in Dokken, and still am now. This album was eagerly anticipated by Lynch fans when it was released as it was his first post - Dokken release. And what an album!!!
If you are a guitar fan and have still not heard this album, buy it now!!! The guitar work on 'Street Fighting Man' alone is worth the price of the CD. Other highlights include All I Want, For A Million Years and the title track. The singer Oni Logan is certainly no slouch and is more than a match for Lynch's brilliance. Even if you aren't a guitar fan, but enjoy melodic hard rock, this album is a must have.
An extremely even effort throughout, and still Lynch's best work to date. Check out a guitarist at the absolute top of his game!

PERFECTION.......1999-11-18

A shock went through the guitar world when George Lynch "left" Dokken. Many people wondered if Lynch could make it without the support of a band with such amazing musical chemistry as Dokken. The answer was an emphatic YES. George came roaring back with "Wicked Sensation" which is an absolutely brilliant showcase of his truely unique playing style. For the guitar enthusiast, this is a MONSTER CD, providing enough guitar wizardry to keep you in awe for a LONG time. With no weak tracks on th entire CD, it's hard to single out hot spots. The most incredible guitar work comes on "Wicked Sensation" (the CD's sex driven title track), "For a Million Years" (an aural roller coaster), and "Street Fighting Man" (absolutely scary). George Lynch has always been a guitar icon for many people. With "Wicked Sensation", he has promoted himself up to Guitar God status.
