Customer Reviews:
EXCELLENT EP FOR PRONG FANATICS, BUT NOT FOR EVERYONE........2004-09-28
Prong is one of the greatest heavy metal bands ever. It's a pity that they never sold into the stratosphere like others, but listening to them now, it's easy to see that they were ahead of their time. The downtuned guitars and spirit vs. angst grooving could fit seamlessly into the nu-metal scene, except that it doesn't suck like Linkin Park, et. al. This is complicated, cold music that carries much truth and pain. Prong, for me at least, is eternal. I hope you find the same to be true, or at least explore their catalogue.
I purchased WHOSE FIST along with PRIMITIVE ORIGINS & FORCE FED after I fell in love with the more popular Prong CDs. This EP is more like a promo disc that a record company would issue than an EP of completely different material, but the remixes are really quite different from the album versions of these 3 PROVE YOU WRONG songs. The changes are definitely worth a purchase--Tommy & company are in top form on these different, but not dance, tracks. The Alice Cooper cover tune "Talk Talk" is the real gem here--they pound this simple little tune into the ground.
If you are a Prong collector, then buy this soon, as it is becoming rarer every day. If you are not, then you really should pick up Cleansing, Beg to Differ and Prove you wrong. This does make a nice add-on to the end of either Prove You Wrong or Beg to Differ if you want to burn it that way, too.
Support Prong in their newest incarnation on SCORPIO RISING, another great CD that just shreds. If enough of us buy the new CD, maybe Tommy Victor will abandon Danzig & keep venturing.
