3 out of 5 stars Choose It for the Songs You Recognize.......2004-12-22

I own several CDs in this series and this one, unfortunately is the one that comes off the shelf the least. Even since loading the contents up MP3 style into my computer and iPod only a few get played. Only a select few truly sound like the alternative radio I grew up with in the 80s.

4 out of 5 stars Different, but enjoyable, second entry by Switchblade Symphony.......2006-11-14

The reviews here saying this album is different are accurate. Some of the old sound shows through and Tina's voice is still dominant. I noticed a lot more use of non-word vocals such as "ah"ing and so forth that were not on the first album, and the sound itself is slightly less electronic in parts and weirdly electronic in others, not to mention a lot of sound effects and a voice clip or two.

It did take me a few listens to get into and overall I liked the first album better. "Rollercoaster," "Soldiers," "Rampant," and "Sheep" are standout tracks. "Witches" was almost embarassing to listen to, but in its defense, I still listen to it when nobody is around.

One problem I have is in my particular pressing. I'm not sure if I got a bad version or if they're all like this, but mine was not only missing the last track, the other tracks were mixed up. Some were correct and others were in the completely wrong place, so that "Sheep" was track 12(and thus actually "Fractal"). I ripped them and re-named them, but it took a bit to figure out which tracks were which, especially since the full lyrics aren't given in the book.

I'd say anyone interested in Switchblade should start with their first album. The 2-CD version with the bonus tracks is nice as the bonus disc has some good songs that (so far as I know) were never released on another album. If you really like the band and end up wanting all their releases, you'd have to buy it eventually anyway to get those tracks.

This is definately a decent followup and worth buying for those who enjoyed the first album.

5 out of 5 stars Continuation of Switchblade!.........2006-03-22

Lovely goth/ darkwave music from Switchblade! Although, their first was probably the best! This one still has as Tina puts it a great groove to it! Just lovely!...

1 out of 5 stars SOMEONE TEACH THIS GIRL HOW TO USE HER TALENT.......2006-03-21

OK. I have to say Switchblade Symphony has potential. That is about it. Other than that, the album is absolutely atrocious. The singer has a beautiful voice -but she also evidently is either really young or inexperienced/immature_THERE IS NO CONTENT WHATSOEVER TO THIS MUSIC> basically, she sings stupid, juvenile lyrics to an underdeveloped melody- but with a beautiful voice. DONT WASTE your money. This is produced at the level of eigth-grade 'goths'. INSECT is the only decent song on the album.

5 out of 5 stars Broken dolls and broken records.......2004-04-23

Very creepy in its own way. I love this album. Some fans of Serpentine Gallery have said Bread and Jam For Frances is disappointing. I disagree, but that's of course subjective.

5 out of 5 stars Splendid.......2003-03-09

This album has it all really. Hard to locate items this good without the heady critisism that often escorts experimental artists. Switchblade Symphony's often revered "Serpentine Gallery" showed us a very "goth" band and for fans of "Goth" imparticular find themselves fleeing to thier 'Christian Death and 'London After Midnight albums after hearing this one. You wont find a genre that this album obeys and when you decide music is simply either good or bad you'll most likely truley enjoy it.

Excellent dark melodies, eerie and childlike vocals, grooves remniscent of trip hop and rock psychedelia meet at a circus... a few small filler tracks... Yea this album does not sleep at all and is so very complimentary of what these girls can do. This album and thier follow "Three Calamities" are just about perfect albums. Very very rare indeed. These ladies of experimental mind have created some entirely outstanding music.

5 out of 5 stars Girl Power 80's style........2006-11-30

Strawberry Switchblades time in the hit parade was short lived. They deserved more success than they received. This CD is made up primarily of the tracks from their debut self titled album from 1985. The only real hits they had were Let Her Go which reached the lofty position of #59, their cover of Dolly Parton's Jolene #53 and their biggest hit was Since Yesterday which got to #5 on the UK charts.

The CD sounds great. It doesn't say if it's been remastered but it sure sounds like it. I've never heard the single Jolene before but I assume that the version presented here is the 12" version as it clocks in at 6:12.

It's great to finally have this album on CD.

i have not purchased this although I was quite suprised that there was actually a "greatest of.." collection by SS around. I figured that there were few people besides me in the States who had even heard of them. these girls are hot in a cute, candy sort of way and take me back to high school and dressing in black eyeliner and enjoying the explosion of funky alternative music and fashion. I had their deput album on vinyl then, and many many years later found a japanese import on CD. it is one of the prize pieces in my CD collection. I also was able to find "Jolene", a remake that Dolly herself would be proud of. In my modest opinion, the three big hits for them were "Since Yesterday", "Jolene", and "Let Her Go", but other people might enjoy their slower tracks. They were a great duo who could have, I think, evolved into something magical. But oh well...

5 out of 5 stars Damn, why didn't I get this sooner!.......2007-05-18

Wow!!! This is an awesome live CD. Now, I am not normally a fan of live albums. To me they usually sound either just like studio albums (but with poorer production) or just really awful altogether. So, out of hundreds of CD's, off the top of my head I think I only own 2 live albums - one is Therion's "Live in Midgard" (also excellent) and the other is now this very sweet Switchblade Symphony CD right here!

I was thinking about getting this when it first came out, but due to my lack of faith in live stuff I put it off. Finally, I decided that as a fan since 1995 I really need to round out this collection so I got it, and now I wonder why I waited so long... :)

There are 2 things that really make this record stand out:

1) The recording quality is possibly the best I've ever heard on a live CD! Very full, clean sound!

2) Many of the songs are really quite different from the album versions! Perhaps even better! Well, hard to say if they're better, perhaps it is because I've been listening to them for so long that I've just grown used to the album versions and they're a bit 'played out'. So in a way this CD is like hearing re-vamped versions of familiar songs.. but they are even better than the Sinister Nostalgia remix CD put out a few years ago! Tina Root really did amazing things with her voice here, it's as if she lets go in a live setting even more than in the studio! Really fantastic! The real stand-out in terms of a different and amazing version of a familiar song is Wrecking Yard, which sounds very jazzy here!

So, anyway, if you are a Switchblade Symphony fan and you haven't thought this CD was worth it... it IS WORTH IT.... :)

5 out of 5 stars She Takes Medicine.......2006-04-12

For those who are fans and those who have yet to hear anything by this excellent female fronted darkwave group are recommended to pick this album up. The songs featured on this album from their most popular albums. And for this reason, it is a great introduction. It contains some of their more well known tracks and leaves the listener yearning for more. And this live experience is very nice. It's somewhat nice to hear the girls talking to the audience and thanking them. One thing I don't understand is the "meowing" but it's not that bad. It does nothing more than to add to the experience.

Highly recommended LIVE album from a classic within the Darkwave genre.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent reminder to SS's legacy.......2003-11-21

I haven't been a fan of Switchblade Symphony for too long. I discovered them when I bought a used copy of "Serpentine Gallery". Susan Wallace and Tina Root eerily reminded me of Siouxsie & The Banshees with their haunting vocals. Today on my afternoon (unexpected) off from work, I came upon the influential goth duo's live album "Sweet Little Witches". As good as the group's studio albums are, they really don't capture the magic of the group's live performances. Personally I don't think their studio albums were mixed properly. Unfortunately I never got to see them live because they were already broken up when I discovered them. "Sweet Little Witches" does a nice job of capturing what the group was like live. "Sweet Little Witches" is definitely one of the best live albums I have ever heard, and that is saying a lot. The mixing is excellent since all the songs were taken from different performances. The songs all flowed well together. I particularly loved "Into the Sky" which included a sample of the theme song to the old classic "The Munsters". The live version of "Invisible" sounds a lot better than on "The Three Calamities". Switchblade Symphony's music really does translate well live which a lot of bands nowadays (that uses synthesizers and drum machines) can't say. Overall I think this is a must have for SS fans.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent.......2003-11-18

This album is exactly what is is: A glimpse into the wonderful "live" Switchblade Symphony. The studio albums are of course spectacular...but this is a nice spin - to hear Tina & Susan in a live setting- with Tina's soaring vocals and Susans driving synths. It makes you realize what a great band they were. A must but for any Switchblade fan.

5 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Live Performance.......2003-10-28

I love this band! I am a collector, so even if this was just a best of (which it isn't) I would still recommend getting this album. This is a live performance, and the girls sound heavenly. I never had the opportunity to see them when they were together, so this is as close as I can get (unless they release the concert on DVD!!!) I am not sure how the other person reviewing this album missed the fact that this is a LIVE album....my recommendation BUY!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction and first album that was never succeeded.......2006-11-14

It's hard for me to describe this band to people who've never listened to music of this type. To be honest, I had never heard this genre myself. I liked it so much once being introduced to it, however, that I did a search for other, similar bands. I didn't find too many that were like this, but I will say it opened a door to some new bands I ended up really liking as well.

Tina Root's vocals are hypnotic, both beautiful, hypnotic and haunting. The music lends to this feeling and tracks like "Doll House" and "Gutter Glitter" are perfect examples of this style. The only tracks I tend to get bored with are "Wallflower" and "Dissolve" maybe "Sweet." None of them are bad tracks, however.

This album has a sound all its own, and none of their later efforts succeeded this(not that they were bad).

Anyone interested in Switchblade should start with this 2-CD version. The bonus disc has some good songs that (so far as I know) were never released on another album. If you really like the band and end up wanting all their releases, you'd have to buy it eventually anyway to get those tracks. "Blue" quickly became one of my favorites and the other "new" songs on that CD are really good as well. I never bothered to listen to the interview. Some fan I am. And for the record, I don't think I've heard a "remix" I liked.

Still, this version is only $3 more, so there's no arguing that it's a better deal.

5 out of 5 stars A Quality Re-Issue Deluxe Edition of The Bladies' Debut.......2005-09-29

A very impressive re-issue of The Bladies' classic full length debut. A Nice Double Disk Digi-pack format with gorgeous photos of Tina and Susan on the fold-outs. The remaster of SG sounds rich and fresh, crisp and clear. Finally, Cleopatra gets something right and gives the fans what they want: A second disk of (mostly) raraties! Some sublime leftovers from TTC sessions (particularily the darkly danceable synth-groove of 'Waiting Room') as well as early gems such as 'Rain' and 'Numb' are sure to please fans who have waited a long time for pre-SG material to have a proper release. In general, reissues are with out a doubt cash cows and a way for record companies to double-dip into a band's catalog and fan's wallets, however, the deluxe edition of Serpentine Gallery is definitly worth every penny, and fans of SBS and the dark-wave genre will not be dissappointed. Five stars - Keep the SBS material coming Cleopatra!!!

5 out of 5 stars The end of an Era!..........2006-03-22

This is the third ablum from them and probably their last one! Overall a great effort from a beautiful, talented, intelligent band! I just wished they've made more ablums!..

4 out of 5 stars Dark, Spooky, Sexy.......2005-09-21

I have to disagree with all those who rated this album badly. This was my first SS album which I followed up with the re-release of Serpentine Gallery. True, Serpentine Gallery is an exellent album but I think that The Three Calamities is in a class all its own. I have listened to this CD so much since I got it only 2 weeks ago (yeah, I know I am late to this party)I can't even estimate how many. I found SS by a similar artist search on amazon almost by accident. It is truly beautiful music that seems to put you into a trance- especially when listened to in the dark or by candlelight! Tina's voice is amazing- haunting, graceful, and sexy at the same time. She is a truly gifted vocallist! I think if you give this album a chance and you are into this genre, you will love it too.

This is very beautiful music to listen and fall asleep to.

Way to go Switchblade!!

5 out of 5 stars A Grand Good-Bye.......2004-11-28

As a late-bloomer to the musical joy that was Switchblade Symphony, I was saddened to learn that "The Three Calamities" was to be their last studio release. You don't have to be a member (or even fan of) gothic subculture to appreciate the songs on this album. Tina Root and Susan Wallace brought something extraordinary to a predominantly fashion-oriented musical genre: they gave it substance & credibility. If you want something calming, yet thought-provoking, this CD is for you. If you want great music to fall asleep by, this CD is for you. If you want something positively eerie to accompany your walks in the woods at night by the light of a full moon... then this CD is for you. That's what makes "The Three Calamities" (and the music of Switchblade Symphony, in general) so appealing: it may help set a tone, but it doesn't dominate the listener's state of mind.
If you were a fan since "Serpentine Gallery", then you'll hear songs that showcase more sophisticated melodies and experienced lyrical wisdom. And if you're discovering Switchblade Symphony for the first time, tunes like 'Invisible', 'Naked Birthday', and 'Into The Sky' will inspire you to search out their earlier works. Overall, "The Three Calamities" is a grand finale to an all-too-short but brilliant duo who broke the repetitive, faded, hopeless mold of gothic music.

5 out of 5 stars Gorgeous! ...and HIGHLY underrated.......2004-08-18

I don't know what kind of crack people are smoking when they say this album is mainstream, or not as good as their other two CD's. This CD is every bit as good as their other ones, although in different ways. If stuff in the mainstream was anything like this, my CD collection would look a lot different. Of every Switchblade album, this one is easily the best example of Tina's vocal talent. Her voice puts Switchblade Symphony MILES above any other goth or darkwave band (really any band for that matter). She tops any other vocalist I've ever heard. Her voice is gorgeous-rich, full, flowing, strong, and angelic. She is one of those rare singers who knows how to put all her heart, soul, and personality into her singing. Furthermore she is classically trained so she really knows how to make the best use of her talent. She also writes incredible vocal melodies- better on here than on previous albums. It is very hard to describe, you must hear it.
The instrumental music, on the other hand, is not as good as on previous switchblade albums, though still very good. It just seems more sparse on this album. Anyway I have searched far and wide to find other bands that can create the mood and vibe that this band does, along with the energy and the talent, the originality, and the sheer beauty all wrapped up into one. So far my search has failed me. The overall feel of this CD is perfect, because it's dreamy and feminine, it has an array of emotions, from, ecstacy to sorrow to anger to just pure "attitude". It is eerie and spooky at times, but not depressing or monochromatic like much goth music. The eerieness is real eerieness instead of a bunch of people trying to sound scary and just sounding cheesy. The album is genuine and from the heart. While I can't say enough good things about this album, it does have it's weak spots. Those being the songs therapy and copycat, which tend toward a cheesy sound and the melodies are far more simplistic and repetitive than this band is capable of.

4 out of 5 stars Remix album gone berzerk!.......2007-05-29

In general I have a problem with remix albums, and I'm certainly not a huge fan of Switchblade Symphony. However, after giving this album a listen...all I can say is that the remix mterial is much better than SS originals. This has to be one of the better remix albums sold on Amazon...it's not perfect, but it is good.

5 out of 5 stars Switchblade Remixes!..........2006-03-16

This is all the remixes of all their *HITS*! Tina and Susan should've stayed together and made more incredible music like this! *BEAUTIFUL*, *SMART*, *TALENTED* ladies who made great music together! Love this CD!...

4 out of 5 stars I really liked it!!.......2005-01-07

I really enjoyed this remix album. Being a Switchblade Symphony fan, I found that some of the songs (such as Clown) we best left un-mixed because I found them perfect as they were. However, most of the songs (specificly NakedBirthday and Dollhouse) were remixed prefectly and I love them just as much if not more than the actual version. This is a good buy and I would highly recomend any Switchblade Symphony fan with an open mind to buy it!

4 out of 5 stars A Much Needed Resuscitation!.......2004-09-13

A band that was out of the spotlight for quite a few years emerges once again with the help of Stephan Grothesk in his amazing remix of Sweet.
Although this cd was released in 2002 it took an entire year for people to actually notice this remix and Djs finally unleashed it unto the dancefloors.
Now 2 year later, this remix is still a much requested song in the clubs, having multi-levels of music types tied into one song...Goth, Synth & EBM blended quite euphorically that it leaves you stunned!
The rest of the tracks on this cd are very entertaining, but doesn't quite hold a candle to what Stephan can do, as he is a great musician and remixer.
I would recommend this cd if you were once a Switchblade Symphony fan and is now looking for an evolution in your music.

5 out of 5 stars Simply awesome remix album!.......2003-04-07

If you like Switchblade Symphony there is no excuse not to own this album as well! Great remixs...I only wish they would put out another remix album with a different collection of songs. Very very cool album, and one that requires that the volume be turned UP!

5 out of 5 stars dark spooky fun.......2007-04-11

I recently bought all three of Switchbade Symphony's original studio albums, Serpentine Gallery, Bread and Jam for Frances, and The Three Calamities. I agree totally with most of the positive reviews that have already been written for these albums on this site. I do not intend to one up or better any of these reviews. A lot of people know more about Switchblade Symphony than I do. But I do want to say that these three albums are all very good in my humble opinion. They are well worth the price and my advice to the reader would be to buy all of them. This music is dark, spooky fun, but not so awfully heavy. I guess you will either love this or hate it, but my response to it is that I really like it a lot. It does get kind of old after being played over and over a number of times, but still I am glad to have this stuff in my collection. For what it is, I think it deserves five stars.

5 out of 5 stars Stunning!.......2006-03-26

There are very few albums in which I like EVERY single song. Serpentine Gallery is one of those albums. Beautiful,Atmospheric,Dark,Stunning I don't know how to describe such a masterpiece.

The music falls into the catergory known as "Darkwave" meaning a mixture of Gothic and Industrial influences. The one thing that stands out to me is it is dark but not depressing. The lyrics are hopeful and inspiring.

Tina Root and Susan Wallace were and always will be Switchblade Symphony. After this album Switchblade Symphony turned to more danceable and Trip-Hop style. But make sure to start with this one. You will not be dissapointed!

5 out of 5 stars Switchblade at its best!..........2006-03-16

What can I say about Switchblade Symphony? Tina and Susan's debut on Serpentine Gallery is a gorgeous one! They both lend their beautiful vocals on this CD! They're *TALENTED*, *BEAUTIFUL*, *SMART* ladies who should've stayed together and made more *INCREDIBLE*, *LOVELY* music like this!...

5 out of 5 stars im bored i guess.......2006-01-31

I've heard probably close to 1000 albums in my life and this is in the top 20 and favorite with a female singer (and I'm not the biggest darkwave/goth fan)....Amazing beats, interesting guitars, eerie keys, and amazing vocals. Just buy it already!

1 out of 5 stars Trite tripe.......2005-07-15

Switchblade Symphony's Serpentine Gallery is widely considered the quintessential darkwave and/or modern-day gothic album.

This is nothing short of a travesty.

While definitely not a fanatic, I've delved quite a bit into the goth/industrial/darkwave genres and have mostly been impressed by the bands' atmospheric darkness, beauty, and compositional skill. I of course love the classics (Bauhaus, the Cure, the Sisters of Mercy, Christian Death, et al), but I also find a few acts today to be worthy, such as London After Midnight and Bella Morte. When I heard THIS album, however, the only thing on my mind was, "When is this going to end?"

This is one of the most excruciatingly BORING albums I have ever had the misfortune of hearing. There is nothing dark, atmospheric, beautiful, emotional, exciting, or shocking about this album, which really sucks, because something with the "goth" label oughta have at least a couple of those aforementioned traits.

The female vocals are HORRIBLE, and have all the vocal presence of American Idol rejects. They are absolutely deadpan and reflect no emotion or passion whatsoever.

The music is uncreative, hackneyed, and just downright dull. There is no drive or danceability, nor anything unique and stimulating created by the tired combination of keyboards, drum machines, and guitars. The songs never feel like they get anywhere, but rather are content to merely float about until they're mercifully ended.

The lyrics are awful, much like the lyrics of most modern-day goth bands. Plenty of clichéd references to death, glitter, dolls, and darkness.

Please, people, if you are considering getting this album because you're interested in the goth scene, I urge you to steer clear of this absolutely abysmal, sleep-inducing piece of garbage.

As a bonus, here is a list of 10 true goth albums you should buy instead of this:
1. Bauhaus- In the Flat Field
2. The Cure- Pornography
3. The Cure- Disintegration
4. The Sisters of Mercy- Floodland
5. Siouxsie and the Banshees- Kaleidoscope
6. Christian Death- Only Theatre of Pain
7. ANYTHING by Joy Division or Dead Can Dance
8. Type O Negative- Bloody Kisses
9. London After Midnight- Psycho Magnet
10. Bella Morte- Where Shadows Lie

Product Description

The 8th full length release from this noted Columbus Ohio quartet is a more of an unreleased "best of" than an "odds and ends" collection. Several amazing unreleased EP's (one recorded in 2000 for Epitaph, one in 2001 for the now defunct Glazed) make up the bulk of this LP/CD. A few b-sides (Aerosmith's Chip Away The Stone), Devil Dog's covers (Radio Beat, Death Of Mighty Joe) and unreleased cuts from last years Gearhead release "The Night Before The Day The Earth Stood Still" round out this must have collection. Expertly mastered by John Golden, it sounds more like a solid LP than a collection. Enhanced CD includes a 10 minute trailer for a New Bomb Turks DVD that will be released in early 2004.

4 out of 5 stars Four Dead In Ohio..........2004-06-17

A quick surf of the web might lead one to believe that nothing much ever happens in Ohio, much like the Detroit suburb I live in, and because of the ridiculous, long-standing college football rivalry between Ohio State and the University of Michigan it's supposedly my duty as a Michigander to toe the company line and quickly dismiss our neighbor to the south as a place where men are men and the livestock are afraid. Feh...

Dead Boys, Rubber City Rebels, Pagans, Rachel Sweet, Devo, Pere Ubu, Tin Huey, The Bizarros, and, as much as I loathe bringing up her name, Chrissie Hynde (admittedly great until about the third Pretenders album, her politics now bore me to tears - to me, PETA stands for "People Eating Tasty Animals") are all reasons why Ohio deserves to step out of the long shadow cast by Michigan and, in particular, Detroit. For the life of me, I still can't figure out what the hell those guys in Guided By Voices are on about, though.

Taking their name from a character in 1980's forgettable "B" flick "The Hollywood Knights," the New Bomb Turks could probably give a toss what anyone thinks of Ohio or anything else for that matter. They came together in the college town of Columbus when the four members, all English majors, grew weary of sitting around with their thumbs up their asses and decided to form a band, a tale seemingly as old as civilization itself. From the beginning, the Turks seemed hellbent on administering a thorough amplified ass stomping or, at the very least, a deafening thrash about the head and shoulders. Ten years, eight albums, and four or five labels later, they show no sign of slowing down, turning down, or dumbing down.

After an amicable split from Epitaph, Gearhead threw them a lifeline and released "The Night Before The Day The Earth Stood Still" in 2002, recorded at a time when the band was without a label. Ballsy, eh? Gearhead, quickly garnering a reputation as a prime purveyor of joyful exercises in sheer volume, also had the good taste and temerity to release this compilation of mostly unreleased material (nine of the songs are covers) dating back to 1999 and three tracks recorded with Jim Diamond at Ghetto Recorders in Detroit. "Ad Nauseum" and "Action" (no, not the old Sweet chestnut) are ultra-crude and disheveled examples of sonic dementia, humming along at breakneck speed and bursting from the speakers like a spray of sweat. Eric Davidson's pyromaniac yowl at the end of "Action" nearly resulted in this scribe soiling his nappy.

Punters laboring under the impression that Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have (or had, prior to getting off dope) the market cornered on back-alley sleaze are advised to lend an ear to the Turks' cover of "Chip Away At The Stone." The stuttering, stop-and-start twitch of their cover of Warsaw's (the band which later morphed into beaten-by-life experts Joy Division) "The Drawback" is, quite simply, full grinding perfection, buttressed by Jim Weber's sawing, squalling, overly caffeinated guitar and Sam Brown's revved-up, Moon-like drumming. Unfortunately, at 1:31, it goes whizzing by much too quickly.

No slam on the Turks, but it's hard to imagine someone screwing up a song as great as the Devil Dogs' "Radiobeat." Quite predictably, they do themselves proud, belching flame and farting napalm, tearing through it like they've just slammed several pints and need to introduce Mr. Thick Dick to Mr. Urinal Cake. And it's probably safe to say that their breathless take on "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young" has poor old Faron Young twitching awake from his dirt nap somewhere. The seven originals included here, such as "Buckeye Donuts," "Bad For Me," "Law Of The Long Arm," and "Sammer'd" (an instrumental with farfisa and organ) - all outtakes from "The Night Before The Day The Earth Stood Still" sessions - are testimony to the New Bomb Turks' take-no-prisoners aesthetic, the band preferring to pound their chests like primates, crank the amps and let fly.

Try as I might (well, actually I don't try that hard), even as I near the age of 50, I still find it near impossible to find fault with endless yet honest reworkings of the E, D, and G chords (or whatever the hell they are - it's all alphabet soup to me). Let's face it - nothing can be truly new in rock and roll ever again, but with topdrawer outfits like the New Bomb Turks around, does it even matter?

5 out of 5 stars Great energy that kicks you right in the head.......2004-04-28

If you don't like this cd then throw away all your albums you call "ROCK" because you should be listening to country music or something like that. How can you not like a band that can actually make an Aerosmith song (...).

4 out of 5 stars Head Bangin', Hips Shakin', Butts Wigglin'.......2004-03-27

This record is a lot of fun. Singles, b-sides and covers that flow together like a proper studio album. Fun and catchy and they even do my fave Aerosmith song. If they lost you a little with some of their Epitaph stuff have no fear, jump right back in with this which is what I did and I'm happy as a tick on a dog to be back.

5 out of 5 stars HOLY CRAP!.......2003-10-31

    Album Description

Japanese pressing of the sole album from this female Pop/Goth duo, originally released in 1985, featuring nine bonus tracks: 'Beautiful End', 'Poor Hearts', 'Ecstasy (Apple Of My Eye)', 'Jolene', 'Black Taxi', 'Trees & Flowers' (Extended Mix), 'Michael Who Walks By Night', 'Since Yesterday' (Extended Mix) and 'I Can Feel'. Although the duo's origins were in Goth and darker musical textures, their album features layers of lush and commercial Pop production that appealed to fans of The Cure, Depeche Mode and other like-minded bands who weren't afraid to mix dark and light musical genres.
