5 out of 5 stars RECOVER ROCKS.......2005-05-02

Recover is amazing, this album is my current favorite of theirs. its definately much different from their first full length album; this album sounds more like their EP. any one who likes the way they sound on the CD should check them out live, they are one of the best live groups i have ever seen. check them out, BUY THIS ALBUM and tell your friends...

5 out of 5 stars Great Contrast to the Previous.......2005-02-11

I personally think this is a great album. But to say it's not just because it's different from the old material is just plain ridiculous. I think it's hard for people to understand that when bands get together they write songs that WILL NOT sound the same. That's just stupid. Where's the challenge and fun in that?? Changes will happen while playing in a band, and to that I say viva la Recover! All these people who do not know how it is to be in a band needs to realize every band's sound will change over time. Rock on Reco! Very original!

3 out of 5 stars come on now..........2005-01-31

OK, this might be the saddest thing that has happened to me in a while. for starters, i love recover. i always will. but come on...if any of you know recover well, you know how good "this is not recover" sounded. (produced by Brian McTernan. amazingly at that) i heard their new cd was coming soon and i got VERY excited. a month before it came out my friend told me he had a copy of it. i said i wouldnt listen to it out of respect for the band...but i ended up listening anyways. i couldnt wait. i thought...gross, this must be a demo of the new stuff...this sounds BAD. but sure enough, i bought the cd the day it came out and...it sounds bad. i heard they were supposed to go to a great place in LA (NRG i think) but they spent all the recording money on drugs and recorded it in some guys house. i guess this is more a review of the sound quality...but hey you have to LISTEN to the cd right? this is hard to listen to. song writing has downgraded. dans voice has downgraded. but i still give it a 3 because i love them. GO BACK TO BRIAN!

3 out of 5 stars ehhh, i've heard better.......2004-12-21

Well let's make this short and simple.
This album is okay as it's own seperate entity. However, when compared to Rodeo&Picasso or their little ep, it kind of sucks. This cd is so much different from what they used to be. If this were their only piece of work it would probably be fairly decent, but it's such a change from their older stuff it's kind of jarring. There's also some kind of weird 3 minute or so pre-gap between song 10 and 11, i don't know why, but it annoys the hell out of me.

4 out of 5 stars Great Band!.......2004-10-18

this album is a very solid disc! recover is an awesome band! if you are having second doubts about buying this album, go to www. killrecover.com, or better yet, go to www.purevolume.com/recover

5 out of 5 stars Metallica's Greatness.......2003-04-05

Maybe I'm a little naive, but this seems to be a new direction for Metallica. I know there are die-hard fans out there who like the old stuff, the head-banging, floor-trembling live performances - but I Disappear is, to my mind, the best yet.
The guitars are a perfect blend of traditional thrash with genuine talent. The lyrics are growled out by Hetfield, proving he still has it. He never lost it. This is not a cheesey come-back like so many mid-80's bands have tried to do, not a display of an impending mid-life crisis upon Metallica's members, but a single that they took to with equal vigour as the good old days of Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning. Metallica are Greatness, and if they churned out more songs like this one I would vote Hetfield for President.

1 out of 5 stars metallica continues its downfall.......2002-02-26

Metallica was once a great metal band I reluctantly admit. This was a decade or so ago. Since then the band has continued to show its downfall and sellout to the masses. The load/reload thing was a big disappointement a long with S&M and garage inc. I Disappear is the last strong. Metallica used to be proad on not having songs on major soundtracks, but decided to give a song to this big budget Tom Cruise flick. I was open minded with the songs hoping that the band would write a good song for the soundtrack, but I was let down again. I hope this song disappears.

1 out of 5 stars It IS time you disappear!.......2001-08-11

Oh man, what has Metallica done to themselves? I used to defend Metallica and tell people they didn't sell out, and this is how they repay me? So, they're doing songs with turntables now? Geez man, I never thought I'd see the day. Guys, I think you should do one of two things: go back to the basics, or just break up already. If this is the kind of stuff you're going to do from now on, just forget it. I can just hear all the Limp Bizkit fans talking about how much this rules, and they've probably never even heard songs like "Master of Puppets" or "Creeping Death". Well, I'm done "toughing out the bad years". I give up. You people want to hear some real metal? Check out Iced Earth. Metallica is dead to me.

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST.......2001-07-07

I think this song is the greatest. It has great heavy metal guitars and is a very addictive song.I think anyone who doesn't like it should shut up.And think to yourself "Am i really a heavy metal fan?"

      4 out of 5 stars Best of Post-Black Album Pre-St Anger.......2005-09-08

Ok, we have 2 Loads, where Metallica start to sound like GNR and Hard-Rock acts, then we have S & M , which is quite good, but due to too many Load songs and the Pre-Black album songs being tuned down by one tone or a semi-tone and the guitars sounding very deep and low. This is the first song that fully utilizes those guitars, sounding like Met's Whiplash but slow-burning. But again, it sounds like Hard-Rock, not Thrash.

      1 out of 5 stars Weak.......2005-02-22

Whatever happened to the old Metallica? The thrashy Metallica who wrote insightful lyrics? This is definitely one of the worst songs they have ever recorded, although most of the songs on their newest atrocity St Anger are worse than this one. Nonetheless, I dont understand why Metallica would write and record this song as a single when they are obviously capable of SO much more.

4 out of 5 stars its pretty good.......2005-01-24

i really dont want to write another long review telling the "metallica sold out" people off (see my st anger review), but while this single does not contain the speed riffs of Puppets, its got a good tune and beat. Lyricwise, it doesnt stand out, but its a good song, definately one of the best from the Load-St Anger era. yes, it seems a bit alternative, i wont argue there, but the main riff is pretty cool. not much to say that hasnt already been said, its a good song

      1 out of 5 stars Garbage.......2005-01-20

I don't know if this is the worst song Metallica ever wrote, but it's definetely the worst one that ever became a single. This stinks a mile away.

4 out of 5 stars Amazing...Thats All there Is To It!.......2003-10-26

This song is one of Metallica's greatest ever. But I gave it 4 stars due to the lack of songs, but what the heck it is still worth the money and a great addition to any fan>
