4 out of 5 stars Awesome Final Album.......2006-07-10

Westworld is a melodic hard rock project featuring TNT vocalist Tony Harnell, Riot guitarist Mark Reale, and Danger Danger bassist Bruno Ravel. Given the players involved, you can pretty much guess the kind of music Westworld has to offer.

Cyberdreams is the band's final album, and like Westworld's first two discs is first-class melodic hard rock album. Tony Harnell's very distinctive voice dominates the album, which is a good thing since he continues to improve with each album. Cyberdreams is a bit less metal-oriented than its predecessor, and is of course a very melodic album. There isn't a weak moment on the album, which closes in style with a powerful rendition of Black Sabbath's Neon Knights. I love it when bands pay tribute to Dio-era Sabbath, so this track alone makes Cyberdreams my favorite Westworld album.

TNT, Riot, and Danger Danger fans should eat this one up. It's one of the best modern AOR/melodic hard rock albums out there. Westworld's self-titled album and Skin are just as good, as is Tony Harnell's latest project Starbreaker.

    5 out of 5 stars Excellent Album.......2007-07-23

Westworld is one of the best rock bands to form in the last decade. The songwriting is great, the guitar solos are wonderful, but the most integral part of the package is Tony Harnell's fantastic voice.

I like Westworld much better than I do TNT, and I think part of the reason why is I feel that Westworld's songs do a better job taking advantage of Tony's vocal abilities, and that marriage of writing and voice come together at their best with Cyberdreams. The first song, "Cyberdreamer," prepares the listener for the album by showing us just how well Westworld can do it. By the time this first song is over, we have heard Tony sing better than he ever has before, and he maintains it through the entire album.

At first listen I was little disappointed that Cyberdreams didn't have the same hard rock power that Skin had, but I quickly appreciated Cyberdreams' different quality. The songs are much more than the typical pop love songs you hear a lot today. I like "What if-," (05) which could be a politician's campaign song. "Look to See," (06) has a beautiful melancholy to it. It sounds sad, but it's actually a hopeful song. "Misery Loves Company," (08)* is kind of guilty pleasure, because it's kind of corny, but I love it. But there are love songs on Cyberdreams, and they're great. "How Good it Feels," is a love song that combines a hard rock power with a pop catchiness, not unlike "Uneasy" or "Heart Song" on the previous albums.

What else is there to say other than "BUY THIS CD"? In the end, Westworld never disappoints.

*"Misery Loves Company" and "Righteous One" are switched on the track list. The actual seventh track is "Righteous One," the actual eighth track is "Misery Loves Company,"

5 out of 5 stars Tony truly shines!.......2002-12-16

I've been a Tony Harnell's since the TNT's early days, but have been disappointed with the latest TNT releases. Tony has found a new match where he truly shines. The song writing is great, and together, the band is awesome.

5 out of 5 stars Quite possibly the best melodic rock album ever released.......2002-11-22

Nothing less than the best melodic rock album ever released, Cyberdreams is a heavenly offering full of the stickiest melodies ever written. No kidding folks, every song on Cyberdreams evokes an emotional response from anyone who hears them. Among all of these absolute jewels, the chorus gently lilting from "A Million Miles" scales heights never, ever reached before. Trust me, it's best experienced watching the sun go down. Westworld comprises TNT singer Tony Harnell, Riot guitarist Mark Reale, Danger Danger bassist Bruno Ravel and Rainbow / Blue Oyster Cult drummer John O. Reilly. When talent of that caliber gathers, it usually spells disaster. In Westworld's case, however, there are no egos, and what results is the most passionate, life-affirming collection of songs ever assembled. Mark my words: In 20 years we'll see bands covering Westworld songs. This is classic stuff we're dealing with here. The band is operating on a level nobody knew existed. Ends with a brilliant cover of Black Sabbath's "Neon Knights.
