Thank God Legs Diamond is popular in Germany. Now Out on Bail is available and features 3 Bonus tracks that until this time have never been released on any LD album. The bonus tracks feature original bassist Michael Diamond, whereas the rest of the tracks feature his replacement Mike Christie. 2 of the tracks feature Dusty Watson on drums and are the original bonus tracks from the first German release of Out On Bail [Doomsday Flight & Seems Like a Dream].

I'm assuming from this release that original guitarist George Romeo left the band first and was then followed by Mike Diamond after he had recorded the 3 tracks [Radio, Hey Texas & One Last Kiss]. The original drummer Jeff Poole left before the original German release came out, but is featured on 9 tracks here. Many people have had a problem with this release because of the line up changes, but it is actually one of the best releases by the band following Legs Diamond, A Diamond Is a Hard Rock, Town Bad Girl and Fire Power. The affordability of this new release makes it very appealing indeed. I also own the Music for Nations version with Out on Bail and Land of the Gun together for 80 minutes of great music, but usually not affordable to most.

There is no end to great songs here from the ballads One Way Ticket and Found it Out the Hard Way to the rocker Out On Bail. Favorites include Fugitive, Doomsday Flight & Nobodys Fool. Growing on me are Radio and Hey Texas [It helps being from Texas!]. If you are working on finishing a Legs Diamond collection this is a must, if you want to try them the price makes this a good place to start, although I would suggest Favorites Volume 1, or one of my favorites listed earlier in the review. No rock collection is complete without Legs Diamond, but you may have never heard them, because most radio program directors are clueless as to what good music is or was. Highly recommended!!!

Philadelphia Rap crew State Property (Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Peedi Crakk, Young Chris, Oskino, Sparks) latest release is "Out On Bail" a fifteen track release which features guest appearances from Memphis Bleek, M.O.P., Twista, Noreaga, Rell, Juvenile, Dame Dash, Green Lantern, Mike Knox, Nature Denim & Nicole Wray. Freeway, Peedi Crakk, Memphis Bleek & M.O.P. start this release off with the fast paced "Same Ol' G". Beanie Sigel, Peedi Crakk, Young Chris and Juvenile all drop verses on "Killin That" a cut which lacks production. "Abused" is a Sparks/Twista collaboration, after Twista's verse, Sparks provides his own high speed verse. Beanie Sigel provides the first standout, delivering some grimy verses for "Why Wouldn't I". Sparks & Freeway collaborate on "Late At Night" a less then memorable track. "Back From Hiatus" has Rell singing over Green Lantern production, another sub par inclusion. "Shootouts" is a decent track, which samples the late great Notorious B.I.G. and has Freeway delivering some raw rhymes. Never been a big fan of Peedi Crakk flow, so "Warning" feat. Mike Knox falls under skip material. Oskino & Sparks team up for the half-hearted "Rider In Me", while female singer Denim looks for better days on "Keep It Moving", Sparks and Denim deliver another short cut with "Time to Shine". Noreaga, Oskino and the rarely seen slept on Nature deliver a solid collaboration one of the album's better track's "I Ain't Playing With Ya". Never been a fan of Young Chris, sounds like a watered down Hov to me on "Cuff Your Hoes". Female singer Nicole Wray leads the way on "Can't Get Out Of The Game" singing with some passion, Beanie Sigel makes an appearance providing some on point rhymes. Freeway & Oskino close this release off on "We Gonna Ride". I am generally not impressed by "Out On Bail" - which lacks production, and unity. Maybe members are saving their best work for solo projects. I am a fan of Beanie Sigel & Freeway, and will be looking out for their solo albums. 2.5.

I remember these guys from the 70s. Used to like the first two albums. Found this 2 in 1 release in used bin, and was quite pleased. Never heard of either album before, but should still be a blast from the past. Played it through that night. Awful. truely, there's not one song I'd reccomend on the whole thing. Even wimpy simpering hair bands like poison, or REO speedwagon at thier worst, made better music than this. Perhaps if you're a DIE HARD fan of this band you might like it, but anyone else, save your money.

Two albums on one cd.... Both are great alone, Typical Legs Diamond only recording great music. Do yourself a favor and get all the albums you can from this band, you will not be sorry. If your like hard driving music with great vocals from the master Rick Sanford with the rest of the crew jamming, this is for you... This band stayed the same over the years doing what they do best and that is Rocking!!!!

Two discs released as one! That's using the maximum amount of time you can put on a disc. If you enjoy getting more this is way practical. You get the import version of OUT ON BAIL(2 Xtra songs) and all of LAND OF THE GUN. This is almost 79 minutes of pleasure. All of the songs here are good songs, but there are 10 better than average songs like "Out on Bail", "Rock Doktor", "Walk Away", "Turn to Stone", "Find it Out the Hard Way", "Land of the Gun", and "Doomsday Flight". Legs Diamond can play them hard; they can play 'em slow. The point I'm trying to make is that these guys are really really GOOD! I enjoy all of their stuff, but this one, if you can find it, is well worth the search. This band features a superior guitarist, vocalist, drummer and keyboard player. Hell, the band is good, just not recognized. Don't let that stop you! Get It!

Of note are the personel changes through these 2 albums. Original Bass player Michael Diamond is gone, as is great guiraist Roger Romeo. Leaving on Land of the gun was incredible drummer Jeff Poole (tracks 1-3, 5, 6, 8 & 9). Dusty Watkins plays drum on Tracks 4 & 7, which are from the German import. The American release was just an EP [Target Records] in 1984. Land of the Gun was released in 1986. The drummer on the remaining tracks is Jonathen Valen. Rick Sanford [vocals] and Michael Prince [keys, guitars, vocals] is the same with the new guitarist being Jim May and new bassist Mike Christie. Listening to this on Cd, I would like to add that Right Between the Eyes, Fugitive, One Way Ticket, Steal a Heart, and My Own Game have all grown on me greatly. I paid $50 for mine when it wasn't available, so, if you like Legs Diamond this is a must even though there are line-up changes, but look for a price of $40 or less and a condition of Like New to NEW. If you are new to the band try Favorites and then A Diamond Is a Hard Rock, Legs Diamond, Town Bad Girl or Fire Power. I gave this a 4, but it is more of a 4.5 than a 4. Truely one of the best CDs I have in my collection.

good album from an under-appreciated band.......1999-12-24

not their best album by far, but has some great tunes. this one has that definite early eighties feel to it, and if you like rock to dance to, this is a good one. legs' albums are hard to come by so if you get a chance, take it.

Okay,grab this cd, get into your car and crank up the decibals with songs like "Walk away" and "Rock Dokter"! Legs Diamond has a way with words and lyrics that makes a person feel free to express themselves, you know, singing lead in your car or dreaming your the star! Do yourself a favor, buy this cd, before they are all gone. Legs records are like the stock market, the price just goes up each and every day! Texas best underground rockers will rock on....forever!
