Lightning Bolt hit Me!.......2006-08-16

This cd is CRAZY!!!!! I had other metal cds like Iowa from Slipknot and Damnation and A Day from Cradle of Filth, but I heard this and was BLOWN AWAY! This cd is from 1994 to! Thats CRAZY! I knew it was going to be heavy, but this is AWESEOME! I couldn't want more in a metal cd. Check out Dimmu Borgir and Old Man's Child too for REAL metal. End to false metal! Check out In Flames too, theyre where its at for all the true metal-heads. CHILDREN OF BODOM!

Not that impressed.......2005-12-15

I realize that alot of BT fans might wanna smash me for this, since this seems to be a fan favorite, but for some reason I am not impressed with this album. I think some of the playing is sloppy and repetitive and there doesnt seem to be a lot of feel on this one, yet there are some good tracks on this, but I have listned numerous times, and for some reason this is the one bolt thrower CD that just doesnt do it for me

Very Heavy.......2005-03-15

I had no idea what these guys (and girl) sounded like when I first bought the album. I was quite surprised! I had not heard anything that heavy since Bathory (and maybe Suffocation). The playing is superb and I can actually understand some of what Karl Willets is singing, though I'll be the first to admit I rarely listen to the words even if they are clear. I always had this CD in my truck and when I did a lot of traveling, I would put this on to start the trip, kind of as a good luck charm. It worked well! Now the CD is scratched up some and skips all over the place in my crappy CD player so I don't play it as much. But because of this album I went out and bought all of their others except Mercenary (couldn't find it). I like them all. One could say all their albums sound the same and in a way, maybe they do. But that is the same formula AC/DC uses and I love them! Don't need no surprises, don't need the band to evolve into something entirely different. When I pick out a Bolt Thrower album, I get exactly what I want!

A bit repetetive but extremely melodic death metal, Bolt Thrower has a signature sound that is at its peak with '4th Crusade'.
