I give this CD 4 stars because only a great CD should get 5 stars. There is no formula music here. This is REAL music, that expresses real thoughts by normal folks.
There is one great song on here that all the so called adult contemporary stations should be playing. This song is called THE MOON. All the other songs are good with HESITATION, SOFTEST LIPS and FOR DA LOVE OF DA GAME being very good in my opinion.
How times have changed. Once upon a time rap, gansta rap and hip hop were underground and ignored by mainstream. Now real music is underground and ignored by mainstream.
This is a very good CD - buy it if you like good music - real music!

This album Rocks. I should have given it a 5 star but my taste for plain chart hit songs are too strong. This group is not afraid of testing and playing with sounds and ideas.
Ever wondered what the greatest song of the 90:s was?
Well, let me tell you. It is a song on this album. RAW is the name...........best there is. Bon Jovi, Ratt and any other hardrockers cant even compete in this region.
If you buy this album you wont be dissapointed!
The song RAW is worth every penny, because its one of the greatest songs ever written.
Also, "some kind of love songs" is clearly a hit song with unusual tunes.........clearly class.
THIS guy really can play guitar!!! BUY IT!!!

Their music is inspired by the sound that used to be called Easy Listening and that has become in its modern form, Lounge Music. Montefiori are Italy's major representative of the easy listening evolution, offering the 60's sounds enriched with technological elements. Their style is inspired by the 60's and the beginning of the 70's. They grasp the vitality spirit conveyed by that period music, by re-proposing it in musical forms that belong to our time, through the contamination with house, breakbeat, jungle, drum 'n bass sounds, etc. It sounds like they want to prove that good music never gets old and, as the years go by, it gains its own consistency. I usually don't hype anyone on this thing, but Eric Roberson is da s_ _ _...stuff. I can't cuss, my mom reads these. Anyhow, His melodies and lyrics are a cut above a lot of the stuff that's out there now. Wish they would play him on the regular radio. HA HA HA..we know that's a joke, right?! But it's cool. He'll get heard because there's power in beautiful music. I love this brothah and hope that he continues to put his work out there. Keep your head up Eric and do what you do!!!

Eric Roberson is the best singer / songwriter in the game right now. He is reminiscent of a young Brian McKnight. This cat is so underrated it is ridiculous. He has written for some of the most popular artists out yet his name is so unknown. Do yourself a favor and cop this album!! You will not be disappointed!!

Album Description

The songs of Blake Rainey are haunted; God, ghosts, dreams, and the natural scene all play a major role in Appetizer Sickness, Rainey's debut solo album. The tunes on Appetizer Sickness are marked by the outcast characters embedded within the remnants of an old world: mill homes and broken sidewalks, bridges abandoned and burned factories all rot along with their inhabitants searching for truth under moon and lamp lit scenery. They struggle each with their own sense of desires and purpose, yet never able to completely lose all hope, transcending in the end with surreal celebration.

Appetizer Sickness was produced by Blake Rainey and Jimmy Ether at the Ether Lounge in Atlanta.
