A rocking album.......2007-02-24
This album straddles the line between hard rock and metal and I think that is what helps it stand out. Every song just rocks hard and there is no filler material. Blaze might not have the best pipes in the industry, but it totally works with this band. The live stuff is very enjoyable and doesn't just rehash the setlist of the studio disc.
Blaze at his best!.......2002-04-26
I've heard Blaze Bayley sing in Iron Maiden and in his new band Blaze, but I have to say that he sounded best with his original group 'Wolfsbane.' The first part of this CD is in the studio - and it rocks - the second part of this CD is live and it's even better. Totally over the top, totally metal....these are great tunes that are meant to be played LOUD. In the live recordings just close your eyes and you're there, or wish you were there. If you're a fan of Blaze Bayley buy this now! If you're not then you may need a new metal education, so this is a good place to start.
Best song? 'Seen how it's done' has a great melancholy sound, but for pure rock go to tunes like 'Steel' and 'Temple of Rock.'
I'll have to mention though that there is quite a lot of swearing on the live recording, so if you mind that then you might want to steer clear....if you're like me you'll just turn up the speakers and enjoy the album!

Even when they were bad, they were good. A must have CD, and since all of their studio albums are out of print, you had better buy it now! Arguably the best metal band of the 90's.

Maiden continues legacy to the music world.......2007-06-26
In 1995 the world did not know what to expect from the new line up of Iron Maiden. Blaze Bailey joined them out of Wolfsbane, while Bruce Dickenson left into his own solo career. How do you replace a line-up that has gone multi-platinum worldwide many times. This would be a template on how to do that for any other band. Blaze Bailey is Brilliant in his own way on this album. He does not try to emulate the vocal range of Dickenson, and does his own take on Iron Maiden's classic arena/power NWOBHM rock. The songs are slower at times than previous albums, but there are still many blistering guitar solos and songs to get your fist pumping. Favorites for me are Blood On The World's Hands, Man on the Edge, and Sing of The Cross. This is a great album for even new maiden fans to get introduced to. It goes to show that vocals are only a small mix into something that is as evolving as Iron Maiden.
FYI: for those who do not know the bonus tracks on this two disc version, they are also available amongst the 3 versions of the "Man on the Edge" singles (single CDs 1&2), and the one LP version. The three tracks are:
1. Judgement Day (from Man on the Edge Disc One)
2. Justice of The Peace (from Man on the Edge disc two)
3. I live My Way (from Man on the Edge lp single)
The Man on the Edge disc two is extremely hard to find due to poor quality form the factory (I have 2 copies, both CD's are separating their layers and do not paly well). If you are a collector and can get this, buy it fast!!!!!
