Great comp, great sound, great price. All the charting singles are here along with a generous helping of album tracks. However, there is one glaring omission...WHERE THE HECK IS THE TITLE TRACK FROM "DENIM AND LEATHER"? Although not one of their hits, it is surely one of their most beloved anthems. I simply can't believe that it didn't make it on this collection. Other than that, this set is rock solid.

This is a very good 3 cd box set of Saxon's first ten years worth of singles (every single up to 1988). All the tracks are remastered and sound great . It is available at a very reasonable price , in most cases under $30.00 . It is full of all Saxon's classic singles and b sides . Still with all of their single contained here it is still missing some great Saxon songs , but for the price you still get your monie's worth. I do hope they release another one covering the years after 1988 .

This queer shop from finland puts his word out on everything, he gives stars based on each song for an album which is retarded because what if the whole thing is good? anyway, he is gay, insulting Saxon like that, he lost his balls somewhere. This album is a good introduction to the band and has almost all of there important songs from the first 5 albums,your basic hits collection from a very underrated group that never got it's due in the U S of gay.

This is a great CD to have if you are a fan of 80's heavy metal
Saxon has always been a good hard-rocking band, but for reasons
unknown never made it big in the United States. They are much better known in Europe. Saxon came up around the same time that
other british bands like Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest were making themselves known. However, those bands made a
name for themselves in America while Saxon was left behind. It's
really a shame because I always believed that Saxon had just as
much talent as those bands. Anyways, back to the CD. This CD contains a bunch of killer tracks. My personal favorites are Dallas 1pm(really good!!), Wheels of Steel(awsome!!), Strong Arm Of the Law(Rocks!!), and Denim And Leather.

I was listening to this one on the way to work this morning. I find myself doing that a lot. This collection is a good intro, as it has some of their best tracks on here (Denim and Leather, Eagle has Landed, Frozen Rainbow/Midas Touch, Strangers in the Night, Dallas 1pm, Broken Heroes...). I love the studio version of Princess of the Night, though. But, hearing it live should encourage new fans to buy the fantastic 'Denim and Leather' cd.
There are missing tunes here of course, like 'Northern Lady', 'Baptism of Fire', 'Solid Ball of Rock', 'Rock the Nations', 'Do it all for you'..but a new listener will eventually find those if they like this disc, which is a very good first Saxon disc to buy.

this band has been around at nearly the same time as Iron Maiden but i didnt know that until i stumbled upon a dusty tape saying "Best of Saxon", in a record shop about 10 years ago. while listening to the heavily bluesy intro of "the eagle has landed" and to the amazing Christopher Cross cover (ride like the wind), my opinion about saxon is summed up in 2 words: Hell Yeah. But wait! there's more treats in store! Denim and leather, Broken heroes, 747, princess of the night... Saxon's discography is full of ups and downs; their bad albums are like, really bad while their good albums are simply magnificent, fresh sounding and kick-butt all the way: try "unleash the beast" "solid ball of rock" "innocence is no excuse" or "strong arm metal" and be ready for impeccable, high revving heavy metal. in the meanwhile try getting this compilation which sums Saxon's early years up til '92 and enjoy!!
