Six Years in the Desert
Six Years in the Desert
Editorial Reviews
Product Description
Hailing from Reno Nevada, Fall Silent could possibly be the angriest band around, musically and lyrically. The band's roots lie in very familiar territory to those in the hardcore scene - a group of friends in the scene getting together to play the music that they love. 17 tracks including 'Playing House', 'Hail Of Bullets' & 'The Wheel Of Pain'.

Not much interesting about this recording. They can't even get the lyrics to the "Sesame Street Theme" right! Picture Sam Kinison singing with Perry Como.

Fall Silent has been destroying clubs and basements with their incendiary live shows for 6 years now and FINALLY their recorded efforts are going to be available to everyone, thanks to Revelation Records. This disc compiles the band's 2000 7" "Life: Beautiful but Hopeless," their 1997 EP "1997," and their debut album from 1995 "No Strength to Suffer," all beautifully remastered for an even, consistent bludgeoning of the senses. Fall Silent is a band that straddles genres, mixing hardcore and metal with hints of AOR and even a little hip hop at times. Their strongest songs, like "Playing House," "Looking In," and "The Rulers" are anthemic, with sing-along choruses and huge riffs. But they also have deep lyrical significance, and these guys don't take anything from anybody! Musically, Fall Silent are influenced by bands as diverse as Meshugga, Crowbar, Seven Seconds, and Journey, with a final sound that fits in with the riff-happy metalcore scene, but JUST THAT MUCH BETTER than the rest. For fans of chaotic, insightful, intelligent, heavy music, this is the one disc you need to add to your collection this year. And it is definitely the best thing Rev has put out in at least 10 years!
