Great Movie!.......2007-07-19
True 80s classic for that heavy metal band headbanger...at one time, this movie was awesome when i was a teen, however, watching it now is "eh!..its OK"...wow..from "awesome" to "OK"...man!..times have change when you grow up..lol. Anyways, its always great to see a "younger" Gene Simmons and Ozzy (which were small roles by the way)..those were the days. But Price in this movie just sucks and it kinda sadden me that at one time they wanted us "teens" to take this movie as "real horror" film..yikes!. However, if you get this film, get it for the music and get it for great memories..other that..its a rental at best.
Ah an 80's Flashback..........2007-05-04
When I first watched this movie, back in the 80's. I loved it. I still know all the songs by heart. So when I saw it on Amazon. I was like awesome..... It was a great movie!!! It has the 80's flare and of course great songs. Not to mention Gene Simmons & Ozzy Osborne. If you grew up in the 80's you will get this movie. If you didn't grow up in the 80's, you won't get this movie! lol
Wonderful Cheese.......2007-04-25
I was a heavy metal fan and a horror fan, but even back then, this movie was a 2&1/2 star product at best. It was great fun to see Ozzy play the reactionary preacher, but for me it was all about [SPOILER ALERT]
Genie (Elise Richards) getting seduced, undressed, and molested in the backseat by a demon named Zeek!
[end spoiler]
This steamy scene is worth the price of the DVD,
[SPOILER ALERT] if you're into watching adorable sweaty girls writhe and moan as their clothes slowly and magically unbutton and come peeling off.
[end spoiler]
I was 12 when that movie came out; what a time to be an adolescent!
We will bring you down!
'Trick or Treat' is a god-awful good movie experience.......2007-04-10
This is one for the 1986 time capsule...
'Trick or Treat' is an obvious product of the suits in Hollywood twidling their thumbs in the board room until one brainiac leaned forward and blurted: "hey, all the kids are into butt-metal right now... how about a sexually ambiguous butt-metal frontman who returns from the grave to kill... and play the high school PROM!!!!"
Genius.
Yeah, it stars the geek who played 'Skip' from 'Family Ties'... and yes we get eye-rolling cameos by Gene Simmons of KISS and Ozzy Osbourne, but man if this little horror turd isn't an unintentional laugh-a-minute flick set to some awesomely bad heavy metal music.
The film centers around high school outcast Eddie Weinbauer, who just can't seem to fit in with the popular crowd. His hatred for his awkwardness is only outweighed by his hardcore love for everything HEAVY METAL, and in particular, rockin' frontman (and apparent political mouthpiece for the 80's generation) Sammi Curr.
Sammi meets an untimely death in a hotel fire, and Eddie is crushed by the news... until he gets a present from Gene Simmons the day before Halloween.
The KISS bassist (but here playing a local radio DJ) hands over a record of Sammi's unreleased music. Eddie plays it, then the record plays itself (I know, bear with me here), and it turns out the newly barbecued Sammi Curr is using the record to communicate with Eddie to help him become cool.
Wackiness ensues... people die... and best of all, YOU get to laugh as it all unfolds.
I caught this ON DEMAND and my girlfriend and I oddly enough fell in love with its cheesy, 80's feel. The DVD is a piece of arse... one of the worst I've ever come across. But, if it's the only way I can own 'Trick Or Treat', I'll take it for six bucks. Maybe we'll get a special 10-Disc edition in the near future.
Rock On.
Trick or Treat is a cool horror flick.......2007-03-20
I've seen this movie the first time on COMCAST on demand & then after viewing it,I've decided to purchase this movie, because it's so cool, especially with two great metal legends of both bands KISS & Black Sabbath Gene Simmons & Ozzy Osbourne who both star in this movie. I must say that I'm very happy with my purchase of the dvd "Trick or Treat".

Top of The Line Rock .......2007-07-12
I have loved the CD ever since it was an Album. I owned this Album when it first came out and now I own the CD. I have all, I repeat ALL the tracks ripped to my MP3 player. Every song on this CD rocks. Amazing how Pete Way missed out on being part of this band and decided to start the band Waysted. The name of the band is made up of "Fast" Eddie from Motorhead on guitar and Pete Way from UFO. Pete backed out at the last minute and Fast Eddie, Jerry Shirley (Humble Pie fame) and Dave King, put together a CD that rocks all the way through. Not one bad song. I put it up there with AC/DC's Highway To Hell and Back In Black, as well as Led Zeppelin's Zoso. There are a few other CDs that I could also put in the "no bad song on the CD" category, but only AC/DC and Zep come to mind (Just thought of Aerosmith - Rocks).
Don't miss out on this CD, you won't regret it.
great service.......2007-01-04
I was really surprised at how quickly my order was filled, shipped and received in great condition. Thank You very much from myself and my brother in law.
straight ahead rock and roll.......2006-08-03
as another reviewer stated - this is great bluesy rock n' roll.
somewhere between zepplin, early ac/dc and cinderella.
great energy, good sound and it's difficult not to bounce around to. overlooked by many but alot better than other "stars" of that era.
Another Great Overlooked Band.......2005-10-10
Song for song, one of the best debut albums of all time. Straightforward kickass rock with a blues edge. David King's vocals soar througout and the drive never lets up. The follow up, All Fired Up picks up right where Fastway leaves off, with another great collection of bluesy rock riffs and great vocals.
Was lucky enough to catch them opening for Iron Maiden back in '83. Hope one day a DVD materializes but for now will settle for these two collections and the Trick or Treat soundtrack...King's Flogging Molly has put out some great stuff, but of a far different nature.
Fastway - self-titled (Sony) 4 1/2 stars.......2005-10-05
Originally unleashed to the unexpected metal world in 1983,this was the English heavy rocker's first album.Fastway was like one of my all time favorites of the '80's.Never did get their just due.Fastway was made up of two metal/hard rock veterans,Motorhead's guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke and Humble Pie's drummer Jerry Shirley along with bassist Pete Way and under rated vocalist Dave King.Every track on this reissue rules, but the certain ones I could never get tired of were the scorching opener "Easy Livin'","All I Need Is Your Love","We Become One"(used to love seeing the video on old school MTV),"Say What You Will" and "You Got Me Running".An absolute must-have for all '80's metal fans.Better, yet an import label BGO Records has reissued this debut CD as a two-lp's-on-one-disc pressing along with their second record 'All Fired Up'.Talk about your worthy releases.

It's Finally Back--No More "Waiting"!.......2006-07-22
This is a great cd, and in my opinion, their best!! I am a big fan of the "hair" era. The songs on this cd are longer at the end than they were on the original cd and cassette, which is a good surprise! The track listing on this re-release is out of sorts, seeing that the songs are listed in the correct order but they don't fall the same way on the actual cd when you play it. The extra track is just icing on this one.
Fastway Roars.......2006-06-29
Fastway was greatly overlooked by most, but they are an excellent band. This album is more "polished than their earlier stuff, but that's not neccessarily a bad thing. Overall, the songs are solid and full of hooks. Some favorites: Kill Me With Your Heart(solid rocker), The World Waits For You, Change(good ballad), Little By Little(could have been on 1st album) and Move Over(Dave King sings Janis Joplin - great). One problem with this cd - I seem to recall this being the same with the original release, I had on cassette - is the track listing is wrong.
This is the correct listing.
1. Waiting For The Roar
2. The World Waits For You
3. Little By Little
4. Change
5. Rock On
6. Tired Of Your Love
7. Move Over
8. Kill Me With Your Heart
9. Girl
10. Back Door Man
11. Doin' Just Fine
If you like good, straight forward rock buy this album - or any of the first three Fastway albums. Great songs and Dave King can sing absolutely anything.

All the popular tunes and a few more obscure ones that are essential additions to a great 80's metal collection. The sound quality is great.
Fastway - 'The Collection' (Connoisseur).......2006-02-07
Here's one Fastway release, that until here recently I never even knew about.Nineteen tracks pulled from the four 'key' Fastway albums. You get tunes from their '83 self-titled debut,'84's 'All Fired Up',86's 'The World Waits For You' and their '87,tough to beat 'Trick Or Treat' movie soundtrack. So,there you go.Wish these guys would consider a reunion sometime.Seriously doubt they ever would.Wonder what Dave King is up to these days.

ALL FIRED UP FOR THIS ONE!.......2001-08-05
Well, as i was perusing amazon.com looking for something to pick up, i came across this little ditty.Enjoying my teen years in the 80s,this was one of the bands that i loved, sadly i was one of the few people i knew that even cared about this band, but for the life of me i cant understand why thier label never got this band over with the fans of rock music at the time. I was doubly pleased to find tracks from the hard to find "waiting for the roar" release, which i still have on vinyl. This thankfully omits any releases of the post-dave king incarnation of fastway, which spawned 2 of the most unforgettable releases of rock history which were "bad, bad girls" and "on target".But i digress, as far as this one is concerned it also features tracks from the trick or treat record, and one of the greatest rock songs ever, "say what you will".Eddie Clarke who was the guitarist from fastway made a major mistake by letting dave king go, this guy easily is the most underrated singer i have ever heard, any fans of dave king can find his work on a cd from a band called katmandu, which only released one cd but it was a great one at that, dave can be heard now in a band called flogging molly which can be described as a irish-folk,rock,punk band who are currently touring on the warped tour 2001.Any fans of fastway who want a greatest hits collection do themselves a service to get this one rather than the other one out there released by thier label.
Waiting for the "release".......2000-10-06
Fastway is one of the most under-rated bands of the 80's and early 90's. This collection is a pretty good represenative of the band and includes songs from what I feel is one of the best albums of all time--Waiting for the Roar. I am fortunate enough to have 2 copies of WFTR, and I would not give them up for anything. A couple of years ago, I would have probably bought this cd just for the first four tracks. I see by Amazon's sales ranking that this set is selling pretty good considering, so why won't some record company re-release WFTR and All Fired Up? I guess it's the same story as Twisted Sister's Come Out and Play--it took years for someone to release that one--Dee Himself.

A great album sabotaged by the band's past...........2006-07-02
On Target is an album that has been misunderstood and unfairly dismissed since its release almost 20 years ago. After 4 marginally successful (at best) albums of bluesy hard rock, Fastway took a drastic turn with this album. After losing their major label contract and everyone else in the band (including longtime vocalist Dave King), Eddie Clarke renovated Fastway with a new line-up and sound. In retrospect, this was probably a bad move. Lea Hart and company proved to be capable musicians, but most Fastway fans believed there was no replacing King. The major controversy here was the severe change in sound. On Target was a slick production full of harmonizers and keyboards. It had more to do with 80s pop metal or AOR than Fastway's bluesy past. Many thought it was great in that context and the album did earn the group some new fans, but the backlash from Fastway's fan base basically sealed the band's fate. Issuing the album under a different band name may have been a better choice, but Clarke probably didn't have it in him to start from scratch a third time (once with Motorhead, once with Fastway and then again with a new project). Recommended for fans of Def Leppard, Prophet, House of Lords, etc..

Album Description
Updated versions of all eight cuts from the British metal group's 1989 'On Target' album, each featuring Eddie Clark having redone his original guitar work, as he was unhappy with the original sound & got the rights to the album back in 1998. Lea Hart, who's first album with the band was 'On Target', has helped out Clark here on remaking five Fastway classics (added as bonus tracks): 'Say What You Will', 'Trick Or Treat', 'Station', 'Make My Day' & 'Easy Livin''. 13 tracks total. 1998 Receiver Records release.
Customer Reviews:
This was just a bad idea!.......2006-11-24
The original release of On Target was excellent but this is just a butchery of it. If I had heard this reworked version first I may have felt different (but not likely). I think the two things that kill this album are that the production is just aweful compared to the original and that the song order doesn't work. The new recordings of the "classic" Fastway stuff should have been added at the end as bonus tracks. I think Lea Hart is a great vocalist but just doesn't pull off the old stuff very well. Also, two songs were omitted from this release - "A Fine Line" and "Close Your Eyes". It seems that most everything was re-recorded with the exception of drums, vocals and some keyboards (nearly all keyboards are deleted). Some drum parts are changed, for example "Let Him Rock" just doesn't rock as hard now! Overall the mix is poor and it sounds like when it was mastered that the levels were too high since the signal distorts at times. I would say this CD is for completists only.
No King No Glory...........2005-08-19
Well I admit seeing that they re-recorded a few classic tracks sparked my interest until Harts terrible vocal delivery just about made me cry instantly when he shreaks out the opening line of Trick Or Treat. He can't sing this song nor can he sing any classic Fastway. This band is nothing without Dave King. He is/was the most important ingredient to a smoking hard rock band. Now for the production sound on this release. It sounds like it was recorded in the giant drainage tube. Eddie's guitar sounds are processed with some cheesy effects that in no way highlight his playing. Maybe the worst song of their entire career is included here called "Dead Or Alive". This song just proves how much Dave King was an integral member of this outfit. Please don't buy this and reward Eddie or give him any ideas about making another Hart/Fastway album. The least he can do is grab Henrik Ostergood from Dirty Looks to sing any other reworking of classic Fastway. That way it won't completely suck...
Wow! What a bad album!.......2001-04-28
Like the previous reviewer said, this is just not fastway. However, that's not the worst of it. This is simply a terrible collection of songs. This album sounds like it could have been the sound track to a cheesy 80s high school teen flick - tons of keyboards, almost drum machine-sounding drums with tons of bad echo effects and just plain bad vocals. The focals are thin and full of sing-song pop harmonies. I'm sorry Fast Eddie, but this album has absolutely no redeeming value...NONE! I just want to make sure I have made it clear that this album is horrible on it's own. It does not need to be compared to other Fastway albums to be considered this bad.
Fastway without David King?.......2000-07-01
Let's see here.. hmmm.. Fastway without David King, really? No disrespect to Eddie Clark but without the outragous range of David King,, the band is not the same. As a bad Fastway is sooo overlooked for true '80s metal band. Eclipse by the "Hollywood Metal Band Scene" (i.e. Motley Crue, Ratt, Cinderella, etc) the bands true "energy" was never really appriciated. What made Fastway a great band was not complex guitar riffs that Eddie thinks are so important, but just the way they played as a "group". Infact, none of Fastways music was really complex at all, just good 'ol rock-n-roll basics, what made it special was the energy of "the group". If you want the real Fastway exsperiance, stick with the first album to start, then Trick or Treat I imagin, or anything with David King as lead singer of Fastway. This album just isnt Fastway,,.

I just recently picked up this CD and I think it is awesome. Yes I am one of those people that thought Fastway could not exist without Dave King but this is a worthy release. It is a continuation of the mainstream sound heard on "Waiting for the Roar" that is chock full of keyboards and catchy choruses. Lea Hart is a great vocalist and brings something different to the table than Dave King. Listen to this one with an open mind and I think you will be pleased.

A commercial flop.......2006-03-22
How can a man say that Fasyway was better without Dave King? And then to contradict yourself by saying TRICK OR TREAT was their best record.......Anyways, this record is more on par with like, say Journey or Foreigner or something. If you like your hard rock a little on the lighter side give this a try. If you like it harder and dirtier buy the Dave King records. The original version of Fastway was more like AC/DC mixed with Led Zeppelin at their heaviest......
Fastway - 'On Target' (Enigma).......2005-06-15
I'm not saying this is all THAT bad of a CD.I'm just saying that it SIMPLY isn't Fastway.Certainly not the Fastway that I saw as support act for the AC/DC-'Flick Of The Switch' tour. Now,that was incredible!'On Target' is merely Fastway in name ONLY.Guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke should've changed the band's name as soon as vocalist Dave King left. The best Fastway CD reissues to snatch up a copy of are their self-titled debut,'All Fired Up' and 'Trick Or Treat'.
Fastway's 2nd best effort! A fine 80's release!.......2005-03-01
Fastway with Dave King was very different than this. The sound on here is more 80's friendly in the melodic metal area.I thought Fastway got better without Dave King.Although the Trick or Treat soundtrack they did with him was their best thing ever. This is stilla good album though.
1.Dead or Alive(10/10)This is one of those catchy 80's songs that will get stuck in your head for a while.A great Song!
2.Change of Heart(7/10)Not a bad song.Good metal tune with keyboard use.
3.A Fine Line(8/10)This is a ballad song that's very catchy. If you like the 80's melodic metal sound you'll love this.
4.Two Hearts(7/10)Song starts out slow, but picks up throughout listening to.
5.You(7/10)Another solid track keeping in tone with the others.
6.Let Him Rock(7/10)On par still with the others.
7.She is Danger(10/10)Great track, the album really picks up on this one.A great metal song.Guitar and keyborads sound great.
8.Show some Emotion(7/10)Another ballad attempt.Not bad,Still better than today's music.
9.These Dreams(9/10)A good solid rockin song!
10.Close your eyes(9/10)This one really grows on you.A great ballad.Done very tastefully.A real grabber this song is.
Fastway is a good band, and this is a good album by them. It's better than The Bad Bad Girls album, but the Trick or Treat soundtrack is their best body of work. Buy that with this one and you'll have all you need. And if you like those then buy every fasway album because in the end each one is good and appealing in it's own way. It's good 80's metal so buy it!

The death of Fastway........2006-01-19
Waiting for the Roar.
This album slyly known as "Fastway finds synth" came out in 1986. I remember when I first heard it I knew the Fastway that I enjoyed was over with.
This album has none of the warmth or swagger of the first album or "All Fired Up." WFTR is reduced to sterile a 1980s drum machine sounding pop metal record. That totally flies against what the band had done in the previous two albums.
I've read in later interviews by Fast Eddie Clark that this was David King's record. Mr. King was trying to be ambitious (synth etc.) and artistic. It simply does not work. The beauty of Fastway was the swagger and the attitude. Meaty guitar hooks with a great grooves and a vocalist that cut above it all with hair raising passion.
That all gets blown up here. I still shake my head at why. Maybe pressures to be "80s" by the label. The first two albums had a more early 70s throwback edge to them.
As to the material on the album. The title track is about the only remotely interesting cut to me. The rest of it is a textbook case in insipid joyless rock music. It doesn't inspire, it doesn't make you want to rock. David King doesn't even belt out anything too passionately. It feels forced - which is the tragedy.
Some have complained this is too hard to find. That is for good reason. It sold poorly and alienated the fans of the first two albums.
For all intents and purposes Fastway ended with 1984's All Fired Up. That is the last Fastway album you need to own.
Waiting for the Roar is a souless, joyless excercise in rock music and should be avoided.
I Still Miss this Band.......2005-05-21
"Waiting for the Roar" is another great album by one of the best "forgotten" hair-metal band's of the 1980's. Fastway was just a great band, and I was always waiting for them to break into that upper echelon of metal bands and join the ranks of Ratt, Bon Jovi and Motley Crue. Just give their self titled debut a listen, or their soundtrack to the 80's horror flick "Trick or Treat" and you too will wonder why these guys didn't become a household name?! "Waiting for the Roar" isn't their strongest album, but it's still a great disc. I would love to have heard some of these songs performed live, especially "The World Waits for You". I guarantee that once you hear that opening guitar line you will be hooked. You won't be able to get the catchy chorus out of your head either! If you enjoy 80's metal, then try to find this album at a decent price. (I wouldn't recommend spending the $100 listed here for used copies) In the mean time pick up some of the other discs that are readily available from this band, you won't be disappointed.
This Album had class. One of the best Rock Keyboard sound.......2004-04-06
Waiting For The Roar is the final album really for Dave King's "FASTWAY"Pure power with heart & soul. A must have for any Fastway listener.Just remember good bands need to change slightly to keep from sounding to much the same. All you have to do is listen and imagine.I was hopeing more bands could of taken this route because of the deverseness to the real classics and whats makes good rock from just noise.Just look at Led-Zepp's final cut."In Through The Out Door"It was different but very good. Oh, also Van-Halen did Keyboards in 84 .So That one pretty much tells a story of why bands need Keys.Back to Fastway to a great Rock Band that didn't get the sales because of lack of promotion from Epic, mainly you can say Micheal Jackson stole all the budget and marketing them years. So this band didn't fizzle they just got cut.Just like the Movie Eddie and the Crusers depicting a band a head of their time hanging it up till 20 yrs later to have a albums Re-released and the singer get back with the old band for tour.It shall be done on earth as in heaven because The World Waits For You Dave King and Fast Eddie Clark.Time to come home. These days you still hear time to time on Vh1-Classics Metal Mania Hour and Metal Radio.Thought I add this band is still on the map.Thank you & Rock On
hard found album.....but.............2004-03-26
change is best ballard number.but this track was hard found.
but i can't buy the album. i wantto buy this album so much.
Not as good as the first one, but still worth having.......2003-05-02
Fastway is former Motörhead guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke's band. The name is a result from the plans Fast Eddie Clarke had together with UFO's Pete Way to form a band together - FAST Eddie Clarke and Pete WAY. Well, the plan didn't work out for some reason but the name stayed.
"Waiting for the roar" is a decent follow up to Fastway's surprisingly good debut. The album was released in 1986 and is more radio friendly, but still a rocking effort. The opening "The world waits for you" is a melodic number starting off rather slow with a recycling guitar riff and a keyboard background. When it's time for the chorus, the drums are brought in and they sure sound time typical with the reverb or echo. Even the vocals have a decent amount of echo which contributes to the time typical feeling. In the up tempo "Kill me with your heart" the keyboards play a major role and this song reminds a bit of Journey or Night Ranger. The same goes for "Tired of your love" - very melodic and catchy. Even if the overall approach on this album is melodic pop-metal, it's not cheesy all the way; "Rock on" gives a slight touch of Led Zeppelin (at least on the verse) while "Waiting for the roar", "Girl" and "Back door man" are straight ahead rockers without any keyboards. Fastway are also doing a good version of Janis Joplin's "Move over", and have included an emotional ballad in "Change".

Fastway - 'Bad Bad Girls' (Capitol).......2006-02-16
Originally released in 1990,this was the follow-up to their 'On Target' disc(see my review).I'm sorry, but 'Bad Bad Girls' is just too pop-like for Fastway. This effort is BARELY mediocre, sounds sort of like maybe a third-rate Quiet Riot. It's apparent that by this point,Fastway has clearly run out of steam. They were good while they lasted. For Fastway and maybe Motorhead completists only.
Music wins out.......2006-02-01
Much maligned effort because it doesn't have original Fastway lead singer. Not sure which singer I like better. Both are fine, but lets get real they aren't legends like Ozzy, Hagar, Paul Stanley, Halford, or Bon Scott for a reason.
Anyway the deal with this one is not the singing voice (which is fine) or the lyrics (who honestly listens to this kind of music and cares about them anyway), it is the guitars and drums which are awesome. Far and away the best pedal to the metal work in their career from that standpoint. I usually think it is the only album that lives up to their name. Still not sure why I have every Fastway album as I don't love them anywhere near that much. But this one and Trick or Treat are good from start to finish (although Trick or Treat has a slight lull in it) while the others are spotty.
Anyway, musically every song is catchy and fast (sometimes breath-takingly fast and you gotta give a prop to the lead singer for keeping up). I especially like She Won't Rock, but honestly if you get over the fact that it isn't the "great" Dave King singing and as a Fastway fan give it a chance then I can imagine if I asked just 25 people that did that which song is their favorite, all of the songs would get listed at least once. Thankfully there are no (and I really mean no) slow songs or ballads - which it's two slow songs was what threw On Target - well off target.

Fastway - 'Say What You Will:Live' (Receiver Records) 4 1/2 stars.......2005-12-08
I never even knew that Fastway had a legit live release out. This thing kicks ass!I've got two bootleg CD's from their first two lp's/tours in 1983-84,but this 'Say What...' is from their third 'actual' lp 'The World Waits For You' road trek in 1986.Features three power-packed tunes from the album, including the title track "The World...","Waiting For The Roar" and "Kill Me With Your Heart".Of course other Fastway goods are present, such as "Feel Me,Touch Me",the rousing "Steal The Show" and their first exposure to stardom "Say What You Will".Vocalist Dave King(thank goodness)is still with 'em on this disc. This title may be hard to find unless you're willing to spend a lot.Great '80's British metal to relive again.Fastway fans, rejoice!
Love Fastway live!.......2003-05-25
Other live cds may be better quality but I love this cd! It gives you an idea of a real fastway concert and not stuff added to it. I got this from a site that sells some cds out of print. If your a fastway fan, pick it up...I mean Dave King is singing!!
