Best Heavy metal Album in the world Ever.......2006-07-31

While the songs themsleves were good there seemed to be slight different quality in the recordings that was a bit annoying. I have many compilations where even old tin like sounds were re remastered. They could have done better.

The Best Glam Rock Album in the World... Almost!.......2004-11-10

Is this the best glam rock compilation out there? Yes. Is this the best glam rock album compilation there could ever be? Not quite. This album does a great job of showcasing the biggest hits from the biggest UK glam rock bands of the early 1970s, such as Slade, Sweet, Mud, Mott the Hoople and Roxy Music. What are especially welcome are one-hit wonders such as Geordie and Cozy Powell. However, there are a couple tracks that don't fit in, ("Radar Love" and the Faces' "Stay With Me", in particular) and a few bands are not represented at all. (such as Barry Blue and the Rubettes) The two biggest sins of omission, however, are with Gary Glitter and T.Rex. All of the T.Rex tracks on this album are from "Tanx". Their only US hit, "Get it On (Bang a Gong)", is absent. And since his conviction on child porn charges coincided with its release, Gary Glitter is not on this album at all! Just his former bandmates, the Glitter Band.

Not exactly comprehensive........2002-05-25

This CD will serve as a fine addition to your budding glam rock collections. It allows you to skip searching out actual LP's by the likes of Mud, Wizzard and Blacfoot Sue. (Blackfoot WHO?)

But the tracks contained herein are really more of a glittery glam-spackle to fill in the cracks left empty by other CD's which are far more vital to understand glam. A lot of this stuff strays dangerously close to straight-up classic rock and some of it just doesn't cut it. (Lulu's rendition of "The Man Who Sold The Earth" - !?! This can ONLY be explained as the compiler's attempt to include more Bowie under any possible circumstance when they were only thrown the delicious "John, I'm Only Dancing". After all Bowie was glam's centerpiece!)

So, here are several records that you should buy to fill out your glam rock collections before garnishing it with this CD:

This album has the best glam songs ever. If you have never listened to any glam rock album, this album probably is the best for you. If you are a huge glam rock fan, then you must own this albums a valentine to all those beautiful stars that created glam rock.
