Fine reissue of a classic set.......2006-05-24
Think about the stupidest, most formulaic Hollywood movies you can think of: cheesy action pictures, fluffy, unfunny comedies, big but stiff epics. Now imagine that one of the greatest living composers was working in Hollywood, turning out astonishing, hauntingly beautiful and stirring musical scores for these throwaway movies. That's what you get with this set: music Henry Purcell composed for some two dozen often utterly forgettable plays (trust me--I've read a number of them!) Occasionally, when he teams up with a playwright worthy of his stature, such as John Dryden, Aphra Behn, or William Congreve, the results are even better, but for the most part you can enjoy the music here without knowing anything about the original plays.
This set originally appeared as separate LPs in the 70s and 80s, and has been long out of print. That's a pity, since Purcell spent a good deal of his short professional life in the theatre, either writing the incidental music contained on these CDs, or the music for his larger works, the semi-operas (King Arthur, The Fairy Queen, and the like). Almost all of these works are enjoyable gems; certainly, they represent a pinnacle of English 17th century music. Purcell had a genius for spinning musical gold out of the most leaden lyrics (check out his Odes and Welcome Songs on Hyperion if you don't believe me), and he does the same with the song texts in these plays.
Hogwood and the AAM offer clean, listenable performances, and the sound on these old analog discs has been cleaned up and brightened--although they were pretty good, even in the late 70s. As with most Hogwood, emotional extremes are kept to a minimum, so the "otherworldly" nature of late 17th century music, so often emphasised in more recent Baroque performances, doesn't come across here. It would be interesting to see what a group like The King's Consort would do with this music, but this set fills the major gap in the Purcell canon quite nicely.
My only beef with the reissue, as with many reissues, is that the liner notes are rather thin for a 6-cd set--the lyrics to the songs, for example, are especially missed. Still, it's a worthwhile set, and a must for fans of Purcell, English Baroque music, or anyone who just wants to experience a taste of the last days of the Restoration stage.

Friggin Awesome.......2004-04-27
I thought this was a good single. Compared to one of their singles that I saw. It only had like three songs on it. "One", and a couple others.
MaDe Me BaD.......2001-04-21
This is deffinently a good buy, although some of the tracks on it like Make me bad (kornography mix) seem more techno than the usual KoRn style it is still a worthwhile buy but is mostly recommended for KoRn fans who already have every KoRn item available and want this for a collectors item. It would also have been better if there was a better track instead of Dirty but i gave them 5 stars because no matter what, KoRn will always be the best
Where is space for the sixth star?.......2000-07-07
This is a great remix compilation from KoRn! Even though some of the Make Me Bad Remixes sound the same, they are all great. If you have to buy a great import, this is it! BUY IT!
Could it be more eerie?.......2000-06-23
Fantastic album with (if possible) more eerie, strange and hard songs. Definately worth your money. "Make me Bad" is one of the eeriest songs ever!
Make me Bad is COOL!.......2000-06-11
If instead of "DIRTY" they had something better, I would give this 5 stars. The "MAKE ME BAD" remixes are all incredible and are much better than the original song. I very much enjoy this purchase.

Great Single.......2000-06-11
I like this single, it has the album version of Make Me Bad, which is a superb song, it has the live version of Dirty, which is the last track of Issues. One last good thing is the cool video of Make Me Bad, which is the best part of the single, I think.

Customer Reviews:
Best track from Issues.......2003-08-07
I listened to their last album ``Issues``and I thought it was not great as their previous incredible efforts.
But I`m really into some of the songs from ``Issues`` and this song is one of that kind, ``Make me bad``.
The reason I`ve loved this song is because it sounds farther different from their songs on previous albums, and it sounds really new and fresh!!
This song proved KoRn`s great evolution from their previous work, and evidenced KoRn`s possibilities of survive in hard rock society(I think the biggest reason for thit is because they`re talented and they knows how to deal with other new age musics, by working on tours and keep on evolving into the best match music in that age.).
I think KoRn will go farther as they could, until they dies.
They`ll never gonna stop looking back, though the critics of the music listeners will against them.
They`re always forward, and no one can stop that.
That`s why I love their musics.
Anyways, thanks for reading this tasteless review.
Sorry for misspells and punctuations.See you on next review!!
My Favorite Song From "Issues".......2002-08-29
"Make Me Bad" was the second single from multi-selling metal group, KoRn,'s fourth album. It emerged right after "Falling Away From Me" and right before "Somebody Someone". Though I don't have this Cd in particular, I do have most the songs either on the original album or burned.
1.Make Me Bad-5/5-The best song from "Issues", and the song this single revolves around. Very spooky.
2.Dirty (Live)-?/5-Haven't heard it LIVE, but I don't like the studio version of the song, so this can't be good.
3.Make Me Bad (Live)-5/5-I've burned "Make Me Bad" live before, but there's a million different versions of it, but I'll give it a 5 because the version I have kicks ....
4.Make Me Bad (Sybil Mix-?/5-Never heard it.
5.Make Me Bad (Sickness In Salvation Mix)-4/5-This I have heard. I have the music video on my "Duece" DVD, and it is not as good as the original, though it does still kick ...
6.Make Me Bad (Kornography Mix)-?/5-Yeah...never heard it...
If you want "Make Me Bad", you should get it on "Issues", as you get 9 more songs for 2 dollars more than this single.
Forget the mixes........2001-01-29
Yeah! Forget the mixes, here's a new song! I bought the CD just for that one. You're a Child of the KoRn? And still hesitating?? Oh, no man!
Yet another KoRn single to add to the collection........2000-04-30
This CD features the live versions of Dirty and Make Me Bad, which were both recorded on Nov. 15 at the Apollo. Then there are the cool remixes. I think KoRn have the best remixes out there. The live tracks are good cuz they aren't very common. The cover art is taken from one of the Issues covers. Well, I am just rambling on an on until I eventually stop talking which will probably.......
