        This is a convincing showcase that Chris Impellitteri may be one of the most overlooked guitar talents of the last 15 years. Consisting of 4 tracks, this takes two of the stronger tracks from the Eye of the Hurricane cd and also features two exclusive tracks.

        It is apparent that the band has been influenced by the heavier sound of modern heavy metal. Fortunately, despite the detuned grinding guitars, and the heavier riff-based approach, many of the hallmarks of the Impellitteri sound are still there. The title cut, which also appears on Eye of the Hurricane, is a straightforward rocker with impressive playing and a strong vocal performance by Rob Rock. The second track, "Stand or Fall" may be the heaviest track on this collection, but takes a Pantera-like riff into an anthemic Yngwie Malmsteen direction. It is an unusual juxtaposition, and is not as smooth as the first track.

        "Paradise" is a power ballad, and one of the best songs by the band. Its inclusion here is a break from the grind of the first two tracks, and it is more effective here than its placement on the Hurricane cd. The final track "Tears in the Eyes of the World" takes on a Prong-like intensity, until a chorus that takes on a Rainbow characteristic comes into view. Although, Rock's voice has more of an '80's hard rock characteristic, it does soar over the modern sound of the music.

        I would recommend this heavily to fans of Chris's, Yngwie's, or Ritchie Blackmore's playing. This is also recommended listening for the modern heavy metal fans who wonder where mastery of an instrument fits in with a heavy sound.

        Impellitteri is the best christian metal band I ever heard! The guitarist is as fast as Yngwie Malmsteen and even more. If you like power metal and good lyrics you're gonna love this band, they are really among the best band in the metal world.
