Customer Reviews:
Early 90s lost gem..........2007-07-26
I just plunked this CD from my collection today to download to my I-pod. Haven't listened to it in years and now that I'm listening to it right now I'm brought back to when I heard these guys and discovered this CD. It's really an amazing collection of music on here. Ballads, rockers, a bit psychedelic in that Jane's Addiction'y kind of way. Great instrumentation, killer vocals and a combination of melody and harmony that more people really should have gotten a taste of. Why some bands hit it big and others don't is one of life's great mysteries but I agree with some of the other reviewers. This is an excellent CD, worth tracking down and giving a chance to. Bakers Pink where are you now? Wherever you guys are, you did a hell of a job back in '93 on this CD. You shoulda/coulda been a contender. Take care people...
Looking for the Front.......2007-05-10
Way back around 1989, I saw a band called "Front" at a small club in Syracuse NY. I thought they were a great live band, had a pretty good hit, and sounded a lot different from anything that was out at the time. I expected big things from "Front." But they disapperaed, never to release another album and never to be heard from again. So, I put in that old cd the other day, remembered how much I liked it, and did some digging to find some memebers, including the singer, released this album in 1993. I bought it quickly and was very impressed. The last 3 tracks are the best of the album and also some of the finest songs I have ever heard. If I had one complaint, it is the album mix. The opening track is a snoozer of a song, and the disc kind of plods along a little until the last 3 songs. Truly, Madly, deeply should have opened the disc, with track 8 in the coveted 3 spot. Anyway, I was a fan and missed this the first time around. 14 years later and I think it sounds good. Give it a shot.
Couldn't agree more with Pleasurville !!.......2004-12-12
It never ceases to amaze me how much undiscovered and/or under appreciated talent there is out there! THIS musical effort is one of them!
Pleasurville.......2004-08-16
I've brought this cd maybe a dozen times since it release, if i break or scratched it i always find a way to replace asap...
the singer Michael Franano-has one of the most breathtaking
voices that didn't get a chance to make it big..if this cd
was every re-released they would more then take the music world by storm...it's more then worth listening too!
