5 out of 5 stars Their Alternative/Punk Album...Las Chicas dig this!!!.......2001-07-25

This is probably their best album besides the new one(P)and Twinaleblood [....] The metal is all but gone on this album and is a natural progression from Twinaleblood. Pyogenesis lost most of their metal fanbase with this album, but gained many new Alternative fans in Europe. Because of this progression they haven't got much attention here in the States and their metal fanbase has all but diminished.

This album has no filler and there is a vast improvement on the vocals and lyrics. It seems that Flo has put for input on the lyrics here. "Love Nation Sugarhead" is the best track here; which features German Techno to give it a club pressence. "Alternative Girl" is a cool song that gives props to girls that dress dope and come to the shows. "Cheapo Speakers" is one of the heavier songs that rips on Tim's [cruddy] car speakers. "Blue Smiley's Plan" is about picking up girls and if you don't suceed, try,try again. Tim's vocals have improved dramatically on Twinaleblood and are even better on this album with tracks like "Silver Experience" when he does the choruses. "Sehnshuct" is an emotional number that gives respect to a German Band and features German Lyrics and more Techno.

The rest of the album is great and this is the first album I bought from them in 97. Their older stuff is Atmospheric/Goth Death metal ( which is Aweeeeesome) while their newer stuff is Alternative with Punk and Techno elements thrown in. This band in the past four years should be put in the same class as Pavement, Folk Implosion, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins(Their 1st album), The Breeders and the Great Nirvana. This band plays real alternative and not that [crud] that is called alternative on MTV. If this band got radio play in the states I'm sure that they will be huge here. By the way this is a great album to play at a house party.

5 out of 5 stars I am first to review!!!!! GREAT DOOM DEATH!!!.......2005-10-14

Part of the reason this is so unknown is the American release on ''' JR AMERICA'' was done horribley..no lyric's.no nothing!!

Now this is a little blurp of DOOM DEATH(an EP) from a band that sold out in two second's!! they started out as a death metal band even!

ATOMOSPHERIC as hell..total DOOM!! these guy's were so unique!! I love the female vocal's on here as well(1992) WE NEVER GOT A FULL LENGTH IN THIS VAIN..DAMN THEM!!!

I always like to listen to this ep..it really is one the most unknown in DOOM DEATH!!

Like their peer's ATROCITY(German as well!) they sold out so quick!! so only buy this by PYOGENESIS!!

1 out of 5 stars Ugh doesn't even come close.......2000-10-20

After hearing a pile of utter garbage that Pyogenesis hadreleased on a Nuclear Blast, I was told by a friend who had previouslybeen a fan that this was not the real Pyogenesis and that I had tolisten to their first two releases to see what a complete sell-outthis and all subsequent recordings were. I indulged him in thismatter, reasoning that if the songs I heard were as bad as the rubbishthis band has been putting out since this album, I could at least usethe tape to record something better.

Pyogenesis' first, self-titledEP started with a crappy, almost indie-sounding riff that didn't getmy hopes up, but by the time it was over, I was thoroughly hooked. Thesubsequent EP, Waves Of Erotosia, featured some of the bestviolin-family work I've ever listened to outside of a My DyING BRIDEalbum. This album is, by comparison, an absolute joke, and its numberone use among those of us who got into bands like Pyogenesis becausewe were sick of the sort of repetitive crap that "bands"like Niravana et al put out is as a coffee coaster, closely followedby a frisbee.

Sorry, whoever it was that wrote the other review, butrepetitive pop riffs and pseudo-alternativism doesn't cut the mustardagainst the gritty darkness that this band once represented. Thisalbum is one of the most embarassing loads of garbage that I've heardsince Metallica's black album. Import their first EP fromGermany. THAT is what real music sounds like...

      5 out of 5 stars about Sweet X-Rated Nothings.......1999-10-07

Pyogenesis really are the most professional rock band. Album Sweet X-Rated Nothings sounds like singular harmony of death-metal with gothic influences and, even, with some elements of pop music. It's not so important in which style the band plays [for me], the main thing is what a music they do. Following the excellent Waves of Erotasia, Sweet X-Rated Nothings is even better. Pyogenesis always think about listeners and convert every song in a hit. Songs "Sweet X-Rated Nothings", "I'll search", "Golden Sins" have a dramatic gist, based on soulful melodies and romantic lyrics. And "It's on me" may be the best song of Pyogenesis. Gentle sound, beautiful melodies, incredible vocal duet of Tim & Flo: that is not a full list of features for this album. Sweet X-Rated Nothings doesn't need to be described more. It is in need of listening! MZ.
