Album Description
Powerful and eclectic, Seattle's premier "hotrod rock'n roll band" DragStrip Riot comes off the ropes swinging and delivers each crushing blow with an intensity not often seen in today's musical climate. Their sound harkens back to the days when Link Wray's "Rumble" was banned for inciting violence, or when Johnny Cash stomped out the footlights at the Grand Ole Opry. DSR channels this and injects it with a modern flair, reminding you that rock n' roll is still dangerous!

Nothing can change the Damange Done.......2006-04-04
This CD rocks! I love it. It's straight up greaser rock & roll! I can't wait till they tour to PA--then the damage can really be done. Usually I have to listen to a CD a couple of times before I get into it. With this one the first listen blew my mind, now I'm hooked. I can't stop listening to "Damage Done." The other songs are great too.
Rest In Peaces!!!.......2006-02-26
A friend of mine in New Jersey turned me onto this Seattle based band about a year ago. Simply amazing. All of the songs on this album will blow you away. You can tell these guys have a blast playing music they love. I can put this CD in and play it over and over without ever getting sick of it. Half of the songs are perfect for anyone going through a bad breakup-the kind where the two of you didn't leave on good terms...(you'll see.) The other half are just plain rockin' out, foot stompin', hellraisin' ballads. While the quality of recording leaves a bit to be desired, given the fact that it was done on a relatively lesser known indie label, you won't be disappointed in the least bit. The guitar work, solos, and drums are great, but the vocals and lyrical genius are what really shine on this album. Think rockabilly Johnny Cash quality lyrics meets Danzig vocals and you'll be on the right track. Through the years, I have always been a fan of Glen Danzig. He has explored the realms of hardcore, punk, blues, metal, rock and even industrial. Although at times he has borrowed from Elvis's style, I always wondered what would happen if he exclusively went the rockabilly route. Thanks to Dragstrip Riot's lead singer "Knuck," I can die a happy man.
While all are good, Best tracks are:
"Damage Done"
"Rest In Peace"
"Hell-Bound & Happy"
"American Sick-O"
the country style hilarious hidden track on the end of "Waste"
It's too bad you can't sample the music on here but I'm pretty sure you can go to their website or my space profile and listen to some tracks.
I can't wait until the next album comes out!
When they tour to NJ, I will be pushing and shoving my way to the front to thank them personally.
I'm not the type that gives every album I like on here 5 stars. This is a masterpiece that belongs in every collection.
DragStrip Riot - S/T.......2003-08-12
This is bar-none one of the best albums I've heard in a very long time. It's roots rock, it's punk, it's blues, it's so many things in one place.
The album kicks off with the riff-heavy 'Fast Cars & Fast Women' and proceeds to blow your mind with fast neo-rockabilly (36 Inch Wheels Of Death), blues stompers (Showbiz, Hell-Bound & Happy), surf instrumentals (Afterburner, Watery Grave), pure rock (The Damage Done), vintage roots rock vibe (Suspicions, She's All Talk), psychobilly (Rest In Peace, Drag Strip Riot) and abrasive punk (Waste). All the songs either ooze with a festering anger, chest pounding tough-guy lyrics, or a dark humor with tongues planted so firmly in cheeks it hurts. The musicianship and lyrical proficiency displayed here is top notch; there's not a single filler track on the album.
Having been an avid fan of punk, psychobilly, and roots rock n roll for some time, this album still stands out as something different. It's more eclectic than most albums in my collection, and more raw than a good half of them. The world should prepare because DragStrip Riot is coming.

Rock N' Roll Chris D. Style.......2005-06-23
Starts out great with 'tomorrow never comes' and then kind of sucks until you get to 'out of nowhere' its just a dull first half. Lots of bluesy/rock guitar, which is cool, but the songs are just boring (dragstrip riot is a great example. Its nine minutes long!) But, the second half is pretty cool. Highlights would probably be 'Tomorrow Never Comes', 'Out Of Nowhere', and the classic 'Agony Shorthand' redone in a way that it is easilly the best song on the album. A cd for fans.
You should be buying the debut from DragStrip Riot.......2003-04-29
The self-titled debut album from the northwest's favorite delinquents, DragStrip Riot, is finally available on Go-Kustom Rekords. If you like bad attitudes and loud, dangerous rock n roll, you'll love this album.
13 tracks of scorching rock n roll combining punk with roots rock, and pumped full of .... n vinegar. Nothing's politically correct about this album. Compared to the likes of Social Distortion, Rev. Horton Heat, Link Wray, and the Misfits, DragStrip Riot carves a niche of their own while holding court with such heavyweights.
