Customer Reviews:
Best "Tribute" album I have ever heard........2005-04-17
The artists involved really took time to craft an album that proves without a doubt that Jason Becker is an even better writer/composer than he was a guitarist.
Piece of collection.......2002-12-18
You will buy this album not only because it's a double CD album with lots of great guitarist and with incredible songs that any guitar lover will enjoy... You will buy it because when you buy this album you do a donation to world's best guitar player: Jason Becker. That worth the money.
Great tribute album!.......2002-09-07
Its a very good double cd packed with music. Jason has inspired countless musicians and its great to see a few great names and some upcoming 'stars' paying tribute here.
Listen to Air on this cd and you'll see how technically advanced Jason was for his age. The guitarist playing this song couldn't keep it as clean or fluid as Jason.
EASILY ONE OF THE BEST TRIBUTES I'VE HEARD!.......2002-07-12
Jason Becker was a guitar prodigy until Lou Gehrig's Disease robbed him of his guitar playing ability. This 31 song collection on a 2 CD set (approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes of music) brings together some of the best artist that could truely do his material justice as well as bring a few origanals to the plate. A few of the artists include: Stormwind, Vinnie Moore, Chris Poland, Jeffe Watsn, Steve Morse, Jeff Scheetz, Jeff Pilson, Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, James Byrd, and many many others. All the artist's royalties and Lion Music's label profits from this album are donated to Jason Becker's family. All artists (including the cover design artist) have donated their work and recordings totally for free. This is a fantastic effort to provide help to a guitarist that has influenced so many others through out the world.
This is a great CD!!!!.......2002-03-29
This cd rules! All of the tracks have been redone by guitar greats like Neil Zaza and Paul Gilbert. This is definetely a must for all guitar players. The only bad thing is that there isn't enough songs, there should be more, even still it rocks.

Customer Reviews:
Great CD for a Great Cause.......2005-01-09
In case some of you knuckleheads don't know, Jason Becker was one of the greatest if not the greatest up and comming guitar players before he was sadly disabled by Lou Gherrig's disease. Some of the stuff on his CD Perpetual Burn and some of his songs covered on this CD were composed and played when he was 16-17 years old.
This CD was created as a tribute to his music and as a benefit for Jason's battle with the illness, which, by many standards, he is winning. Jason was given 3-5 year to live, and this was 16 years ago.
His playing, his courage, and his positive outlook on life diserve the greatest respect and admiration and should stand above all other superficial things such as who plays what on this CD and how popular the artists are, or who is the better player on this album.
This is a great CD, played by some great guitar players, and pays tribute and benefit to one of the greatest players.
Go buy it, and learn something not only about guitar playing, but life as well.
Another Great Tribute Album.......2004-07-16
Well as to the complaint above about having the greatest guitarists playing on this cd, to be honest this isn't a compilation of guitar gods, its a tribute to Jason Becker. These artists that played on the CD did it because of their respect and maybe compassion for Jason, which i feel means a lot since they arent really getting paid for it as well.
Anyway this is a pretty good albbum. I prefered WITW 1 more though. Hmm, sorta like a 'shred' cd but too bad i a few of the other artists i liked werent on this but overall i'd give it 4 stars. BUY THIS CD! It will help out Jason a lot.
Nothing mind blowing on this........2003-07-10
I have listened to this CD 3 times now and cannot find anything different to it to what I have heard in the past. The rock tracks on the CD are good, but the guitar compositions have nothing exciting about them. Vinnie Moore and Tony Macalpine were playing a lot of this type of material nearly 20 years ago and to be frank I would rather listen to their old albums then this hyped up rubbish.
This CD is okay but I wouldn't say great........2003-06-23
If these are some of the 'best guitarists around of the moment', then I only wish we could go back to the Seventies/Eighties. Like the first review, there isn't exactly anything of highlighted originality going on here. Unless your knowledge of guitaring is limited that is.
great stuff.......2003-05-24
don't wright revieuws if you don't know what your talking about!
you can give your opnion about it if you like it or not, but don't say that these guys can't play and just immitate one and another!
some great players from around the world will be known trough this record.
if your knowledge about guitarists goes no further than steve vai and marty friedman (great players)... than shut-up.
this is an excelent compilation of top-musicians and a perfect opportunity to get into the instrumental wolrd of guitarmusic.
i personnaly recoment david valdes's cd: paradise lost and
milan polak's cd : guitar 2001 as my favorites.
all instrumental high performances!
buy this cd and choose your own favorite artist and buy their cd's for they are all great players!

Tribute to one of the most inspiring musicans..........2001-12-14
I went to a record shop to buy some Christmas carols for my wife and found out this tribute album released. Well, It didn't take too long to forget the reason why I went there.
Although Jason couldn't play a single track himself, it's still a valuable album. We could listen to the great stuff he has done and recall to what an outstanding musician he is.
The guys playing in this album are good too. I don't know half of them though.
Best wishes for Jason.
