A great primer for the Laswell curious, but few else.......2002-05-20

This double CD set is an old retrospective of his some of his early outings with other artists and as a solo artist, and while the collection is a great primer for fans of his unique sound palette, a lot of the tracks show their age and some are even a bit out for even casual listening. Being able to play a pristine version of "Worksong" is, however, almost incentive to buy a used copy just for kicks.

Not for the casual listener, but a must-have for fans of Laswell and those seeking to uncover the roots of his current world/ambient/dub music reach.
