Stealing.......2006-12-12

I love the Von Bondies and how they just rock your socks, but you can't steal David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust's stage artwork. That lightening bolt in the circle was either painted on Bowie's forehead or on display behind the stage. That's his lightening bolt, the same design. I know lightening bolts are common, but if you look at David Bowie's use of it, it is in the exact same shape as this cover. I guess I enjoy their homage to D Bo, I can only hope they mention that in the liner notes.

Better than all their studio work.......2006-01-30

This album does the band justice that i havent seen on any studio album by them. I have Pawn Shoppe Heart, and its pretty good, but after seeing them live, it just doesnt do them justice. This album shows all the energy they have on stage, and the female vocals sound incredibly better. The sound quality is great, and the track list as well. All in all, one of my favorite new "rock" live albums.

This album is amazing, from start to finish, each track completly blows your mind, your listening to it and you think it cant get better, then the next track comes on and your in AH of it. I defiantly recomnd this disc to anyone!

Detroit Rawk at its best.......2003-07-21

Two years ago, I saw these guys almost steal the show from the headliners White Stripes. "Raw and Rare" is a perfect description for these guys and gals and this disc will help tide over fans for their next album. A collection of mostly live tracks from the "Lack of Communication" material. These tracks do sound thicker and livelier than the studio versions and a better indication of the band's explosive live perfomances. Also included here are a couple killer covers. "R & R Nurse" is great reworking of the Compulsive Gamblers tune and "Take a Heart" is 7 minutes of pure Rawk. The album concludes with two specially recorded tracks, but are pretty much throwaways.

As a fan, I really enjoyed this CD, but if you are new to the band, I suggest trying "Lack of Communication" first as an introduction to this band.

I ordered this CD and also Worchip Jamz 2 for my kids, but this CD would be much more appropriate for preschool age kids than older (my youngest is 11.)
It's wonderful music for the younger set! Very inspired.

CD won't play in player (CD-R?).......2004-04-07

This CD and another by the same artist will not play in my CD player which doesn't read CD-R's. When I play it in a boom box it will work. The songs just don't appeal to my children or our youth group. The song lyrics are well written but the tunes themselves are not catchy to the kids. They seem to like Colin Buchannan's Aussie Praise collection much better. Amazon doesn't sell it but cbd.com does. Great Effort though by this couple.

SUPER! Kids LOVE it!.......2002-07-25

This is my favorite record for very young kids who want to bounce around innocently while singing about God. It's very colorful and creative.

What a great album for getting in an upbeat worship frame of mind. I have used the whole Worship Rock series with the young kids and youth at my church and they love them all! I highly recomend all of the Worship Rock collection.

Not raw, and not leftovers -- This is prime rock.......2004-03-25

I got this cd because I'm a huge fan of Thunder, but I expected quite a few weak songs and demo quality production. This cd blew away those expectations. It is as solid as anything Thunder has done--full of great, rocking songs. It's a mystery why most of these songs weren't included on an album when they were first recorded. Most of these songs are from the earlier part of Thunder's career, and they are full of great riffs. In fact, the majority of these songs can stand up against the best songs on Backstreet Symphony or Laughing On Judgment Day. The production is fantastic throughout, and the few songs that appeared on other albums actually sound better than the previously released versions, with a harder edge to the guitar. Future Train is reworked into almost an entirely different song. There really isn't any filler, either. Every song is good. If you like Thunder or just classic rock in general, I strongly recommend this cd.

My whole family loves the mix of fun rock styles. The kids especially.

Worship Rock #1 has so many great songs- 18 or 19 I think. It's like two CD's worth. It's very fun to play in the car because the kids love the songs, but they're not just for kids. It has a down-to-earth feel that makes Worship seem just like a normal part of our lives, not all churchy with wierd words, because our family just isn't into that. I highly recommend it.
