Absolutely the BEST !.......2006-05-31

Our church choir sang a few of these songs which I loved, so I decided to order it. It is a very sweet, gentle, inspiring collection of music. Many times when you get a CD, you are fortunate to find 2-4 on there that you really like enough to play regularly. But on this one, every song is wonderful. This music is so spiritually uplifting and peaceful that you will want to play it regularly. Some if may bring some tears it is so beautiful. John Rutter has a way with this type of music. You will probably want to be giving some of these cd's away to those you love.

I had this CD on while in labor with my last child. We had a wonderful homebirth and what better then to have the spirit in our home with this music as we welcomed a brand new baby. It helped me relax and helped the birth be peaceful, calm, and spiritual.

I love this CD. My family and I listened to it over and over and over again, during the last few weeks of my mother's life. It has been a comfort to me in time of sorrow. Now it brings tears every time I listen to it. This music is like loving arms around me. It touches my soul. I've given so many away, I should have bought a case of them.

I bought this CD because I had heard "My Shepherd Will Supply My Need" once and loved it. But it's just one of the many beautiful songs on this CD. I'm at a loss to describe what joy this music brings to me each time I listen to it. I carry it from house to car and back again so I can enjoy it wherever I am. I've given away several "Consider the Lilies" CD's to friends and relatives, something I've never done before. Anyone who is facing a serious challenge in life will be uplifted and comforted by this ethereal music.

Feel good tune........2007-02-09

I still love pulling out my old cassette from high school and listening. Run Runaway is a Great, feel good tune, the drums at the start are incredible on a good sound system. If you like hard rock ballads like Sister Christian by Night Ranger, you'll love My Oh My. The other songs are hit and miss, and I agree with another review, probably not worth the high price here.

Slade? If you werent around in the 1980's and listening to rock radio, you probely would be asking the same thing. Slade was a rock band that actually formed in the 1970's, but didn't hit it big til the 1980's when they had thier hit "Run Runwaway". I dont even know if that you could call it a smash hit, because its one of those songs that I havent heard on any type of radio station since the 1980's, yet this is a pretty decent rock album. I reccomend it to people that grew up listening to 70's and 80's hard rock, but I can't see the younger generation liking this one. Its been years since I have heard this album, but since I stumbled across it on CDnow, I just had to write a review. I only had this on casssete, and I think that it cost me a whopping 2 dollars off the discount rack. I can no longer find my copy, and wouldnt ya know that the CD is a rare cause they want thirty buck for this used. Its not worth that, believe me, but if you can find it discounted somewhere, or on EBAY, pick it up and give it a listen for old time sake.

Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply.......2005-10-21

The song "Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply" is one of my most favorite Slade tunes. It's totally over the top, even for Slade.

Loved most of this album.......2004-05-23

This was a good album except for the last song and In The Dog House. I used to listen to it while drifting off to sleep at night when I was in High School. Run Runaway and My oh My still are among my favorite songs, and C'Est La Vie is AWESOME.

Run Run Away!!!.......2004-03-10

When I was 12, I must have worn out my cassette copy of this album by playing Run Run Away over and over. I usually got through about halfway of My Oh My before fast forwarding to High And Dry. I never (really NEVER) made it through the whole album because the songs were awful.

I have heard that Slade was quite a rockin' band in the 70's. This is the album that kept me from ever finding out. I'd rather listen to the Thompson Twins. Slade had a big bag of nothing by the time this came out (I guess!)

Old School Boom that is still better than the "Bragging Rap" of today.......2007-05-27

This CD is second only to Techmaster PEB in terms of pure bass enjoyment and I'd put it on par with DJ Magic Mike. It's a very mellow CD that you'll need to have the right equipment for in order to get the full enjoyment out of it. And, full enjoyment is what you'll definitely get!

If you like bass cds you'll like this one........1999-06-19

I have had this cd for a year or two and I never get tierd of hearing it because the music on it is very cool if you have a system in you car or if you don't. If you want bass you'll get plenny of it from this cd. To whoever buys this cd I recommend track 7 "bass,boom,bottom" because it hits very hard and the music is cool. So buy this cd and listen to it you'll like it

Can a Budgie change its stripes?.......2003-10-14

Unexpected and underwhelming. That was my impression of Budgie's 1980 release, Power Supply, on the first few listenings. After coming to relish the spirited quirkiness of the band's '70s releases, I struggled to find as much to like about the nearly metal styling of most of Power Supply. The songwriting veered toward plebian. And while new guitarist John Thomas showed some fire, missing was the flair and sledge hammer resonance of the guitar sound that defined the Tony Bourge era of Budgie. There are good moments - Gunslinger and Time To Remember perhaps most distinctive among them. And, a couple of extra highlights come on the version of Power Supply that includes the songs from Budgie's EP If Swallowed Do Not Induce Vomiting. Repeat exposure has tempered my initial surprise. Still, while I'm a devout Budgie defender, Power Supply warrants only quick mention when building a case for the band's stature as a hard rock heavyweight.

DO NOT INDUCE VOMITTING!.......2002-02-01

This great album is finally out as a CD and as a bonus they have thrown the hard to find IF SWALLOWED, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITTING E.P.. That alone makes this a super bargain! This is more of the typical Budgie sound; interesting lyrics, great guitar work, and a phenomenal sound. Tracks I enjoyed the most were "Panzer Division Destroyed", "Hellbender", and "Forearm Smash". This is a different sound for Budgie as it seems they were trying to fit into the middle of a rebirth of Heavy Metal in England. It is to me a valiant effort. If you've liked any other Budgie recording, pick this up. If you would like to try Budgie try best of or NEVER TURN YOUR BACK, IMPECKABLE, or, IF I WERE BRITTANIA....

budgie enters the nwobhm with this ferocious blast.i won't bother going song for song analysis but it must be the addition of john thomas that makes budgie do an about-face here.nothing before and nothing after sounds like the music enclosed here.faves would be hellbender and forearm smash.

A bit too long in the beak?.......2001-01-31

If you're only familiar with some of Budgie's classic albums from the 70s like "Bandolier" or "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend" then you might find this one a bit of a shock. Most of the quirky charm that characterised their early output is here replaced by a more standard hard rock sound.

After a few fruitless years trying to break the U.S. market the band returned to find the U.K. in the midst of a heavy metal revival. Budgie weren't the only established act to adapt their sound to this market, and arguably they did it a lot better than many of their peers, but this isn't the album the band ought to be remembered for.

If 80s metal is your thing you could do a lot worse than get this title, but would be well advised to shell out a few extra dollars for the Repertoire import version from Germany. It has four bonus tracks from the "If Swallowed Do Not Induce Vomiting" EP which neatly complement the style of "Power Supply".

BUDGIE - POWER SUPPLY.......2000-04-11

The first Budgie album 1980's recorded after a three year stay in America. A new record label and new lead guitarist produced their best effort for many years. Riding on the back of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, the band have a much harder edge and attack each number with a manner not found on the earlier material. Power Supply and Forearm Smash found on this album are the hardest they have ever sounded. However the best is left to last, Gunslinger builds from a gentle start and storms into final blast down John Thomas's patented Holigan guitar.

pounding bass cd.......2004-12-08

This is great all-around bass. It is the perfect cd for any type of system. I've only got two 10's with a 250 watt amp and it shakes everything in my apartment from my car in the parking lot. This is definitly a must have for anybody with a car stereo system. My advise -IF YOU CAN FIND IT, GET IT!- HAVE A NICE DAY!

This cd is a real good one.If you got beat then you should definetly pick this one up. My favorite track is #14.That one really knocks!This cd is not for the music it's for bass only.

Sounds like old school eZe........2000-06-25

this sounds like some nwa. This cd definitely hits some lows. I like track 4. I play this in my car when I get bored. I have 2 polk 12s and a dual 110w amp, and 2 6x9s. I can actually feel this cd. the only problem is that the music is kind of lame. kinda sounds like techno. whatever.

Who is this gifted artist? His melodious voice moves you to a higher level of being. The lyrics are simple and touching. I can totally relate to every thought and feeling in the songs. Above all, he truly cares for Mother Earth!! Well Done..

My husband and I went to see Kyle Vincent play at a coffee house in Ferndale, Michigan Saturday night. Up until that evening, I had never heard of him... I am at a loss for why this is. He has an amazing voice, has an incredibly personable stage presence, writes brilliant and touching lyrics, and is genuinely friendly.
The only reason I wouldn't give the cd five stars is because the passion for his songs and the energy he possesses is not as evident on the cd. Admittedly, much of an artist's performance is the sharing of energy between the performer and the audience, and capturing that feeling in the studio is difficult, I'm sure.
I would still highly recommend the cd. And if you can see him in person as well, so much the better! He is an incredibly talented performer.

Yes I know he's gorgeous. Yes I know he can sing like a bird. Yes I know he's obviously very well educated. But the thing about Vincent's music is how it takes you away from wherever you are, yet makes you think about exactly where you are. He's such a gifted lyricist and even a better producer or arranger. Instead of a good lyric sitting there with some nice music, he strings you along and then WHAP! hits you with a great underlying music moment that makes a good lyric a great lyric with so much deeper meaning. I could go on and on but instead you should just go out and get this CD. I agree with the other reviewers about how it's impossible to understand why Kyle Vincent is not the biggest singer songwriter in the world. He really should be that. I can't wait for his next CD!!!!

A Hidden Gem.......2003-07-01

How can anyone with a voice this great and songs so beautiful remain so amazingly obscure? Kyle Vincent is the perfect example of a true artist who writes, performs, and produces all of his material and is foolishly snubbed by the major music labels. How do total fabricated "stars" get all the attention when a real star is ignored. Do yourself a favor and listen to his oh-so-smooth voice and well-thought out arrangements. The meanings within his songs are so genuine you can feel the emotions that run so deep. Listen to some of his older stuff too. Kyle is the real deal!

This album, to be perfectly honest, is probably the best thing I have heard this year. I am a big Kyle Vincent fan and I really feel he went over the top on this one. The songs are first rate and his voice fits each song like a glove. I just wish more people would search this guy out and listen to his music. It is truly magnificent. Buy this if you can as some of his releases have gone out of print.

I would rate this CD a ten if I could!I cant find it anywhere, I feel like a desparate sex feen!! If anyone knows where I can get it new please let me know! It is the most popular Bass CD sold!!! The second release by the hip-rock crew, defenitely an improvement over their first cd. Both are still equal in sound quality and low frequency reproduction. If you've never heard a hip-rock record this is the one to start with.
