On their early 1990s tour for their hit album Empire, Queensryche performed its 1988 predecessor, Operation: Mindcrime, in its entirety. Operation: Livecrime was originally released as a limited-edition box set with a CD and video and became a collector's piece. Years later, Mindcrime is still regarded as a masterpiece, as is this live counterpart. Each song stands on its own, yet collectively contribute to a powerful statement. In the live setting, Queensryche's aggressive edge comes forward flawlessly. Vocalist Geoff Tate is commanding and emotional, while Michael Wilton and Chris DeGarmo's guitar work is immaculate. Bassist Eddie Jackson and especially drummer Scott Rockenfield add progressive, unconventional rhythms. The new bonus tracks, "The Lady Wore Black" and "Roads to Madness," are icing on the cake. The remastered mix captures the band in full force without slighting the stunning orchestration and even the rainstorm during the dramatic "Suite Sister Mary." Most importantly, it does justice to one of the most important and timeless hard-rock creations of its era. --Gail Flug

Ryche domination, and Terri is right.......2007-01-04
To hellraiser and fed up, if you watch MTV of course you'll give it a negative review, MTV only has s*it for brains, Queensryche are way too good.
Onto this album, great music, Tate's vocals are outstanding on this live release while Jackson, Wilton, Degarno and Rockenfield kick rear up til the end.
Highly recommended, but not for MTV fans, they might get hurt. Before I leave kudos to Terri.
Fed up and Hellraiser, you two are examples of why MOST music is generic
sorry hellraiser,terrence is right.......2006-06-29
Operation live crime is one of the best live albums from Queensryche one the finest rock bands ever.each and every track is a gem.buy it.FED UP AND HELLRAISER ARE WRONG AS USUAL FOLKS.
Sorry, Terri. Fed Up is RIGHT!.......2006-06-28
Queensryche sucks. So does this album. One star is all it gets. Now save your cash and wait for Jessica Simpson's new album due in August.
Queensryche rocks!.......2006-06-28
Triple H(mocking Fed Up): Queensryche is trash, buy Britney. Shawn Michaels(mocking Hellraiser): Please buy Beyonce instead! Triple H: Whoever degraded Queensryche needs a pedigree. This album rocks especially Revolution Calling, I Don't believe in Love and Eyes of a Stranger. Shawn Michaels: The Heartbreak Kid says you deserve SWEET-CHIN MUSIC if you prefer The Spirit Squad and their off-shoots like Taylor Hicks to Queensryche. Triple H: You mean Taylor s*cks D*cks! Shawn Michaels: if you are not down qith us and Queensryche, we got TWO WORDS FOR YA S*CK IT!!!
YES,YES,YES,YES,YES.......2006-06-27
THE YEAR IS 2006 AND EVERYONE IS DIGGING CLASSIC ROCK MUSIC AND GREAT BANDS LIKE QUEENSRYCHE.BRITNEY,JUSTYNC,TAYLOR,D**KS AND CHRIS BROWN ARE PASSE.QUEENSRYCHE ARE ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS FROM THE EIGHTIES WHO STILL SOUND GOOD TODAY.BUY THIS NOW AND AVOID THE UPCOMING C**P FROM BRATNEY,JANET AND BEYONCE.

Queensryche at its BEST!.......2004-12-11
This cd is the live version to one of the best concept cds of all time. Queensryche is at its best here and listening to the cd, you can imagine the live concert in your mind. I was fortunate enough to see this show three times on that tour and was not disappointed once! The concert is well represented here and if you can find the limited edition box set with the video, YOU SHOULD BUY IT!
Let's hear it for unabashed "concept album" fun.......2002-06-10
This is a review of the original boxed set with the CD, VHS video and booklet.
This performance of Operation Mindcrime is excellent overall. If you do not have the studio version, you should probably start there, as this performance is a reasonably straight ahead performance of the studio cuts. In fact, it sounds a bit too much like "Operation Mindcrime plus Reverb" for my liking. This is a minor criticism; I'm just trying to point out that it is not a hugely artistic recreation of the original.
The production is a bit too peaked. Some of the highs get a bit shrill, causing one to re-EQ your stereo. I understand it has been remastered now so I'll assume they've fixed this.
The video is a lot of fun! It's a great performance all around. Again, the production is a bit overblown, with plenty of the whirling cameras and filtered production typical of a late '80's hard rock/metal music video.
The booklet is a cool extra, with some (minimal) narrative to help explain the story. A cool addition.
I wouldn't pay the collector's prices on the boxed set unless I were a hardcore fan. But this is a really nice performance of a great album, so if you find it at an affordable price, you can't really go wrong.
Great live album.......2001-10-17
I have been dying for this album to be re-issued for a long time now, and now it is finally here. Alas, I can definately say that it WAS worth the wait. All the tracks have been remastered, and the sound is impeccable and in-your-face. Of course, we get Mindcrime performed live in its entirety, one of the most highly acclaimed prog and hard rock albums in recent memory, and for good reason. The performance is high-energy and enduring. The band is in fine form, and Geoff Tate shows why he is a consumate showman, and one of the best singers in rock music today. In addition to all this, we get two excellent bonus tracks, The Lady Wore Black and Roads To Madness, long two of my favorite Queensryche tracks. I call this album a must for any QR fan. Even if you have the original box set, I reccommend picking this up, anyway, because of the remastering and the two added tracks. A highly worthy live album.
A must have for Queensryche fans.......2001-06-10
Some of Queensryche's finest material. Geoff Tate proves his vocals are real and not studio magic. "Needle Lies" is even faster in this live version. For those unfamiliar with Queensryche, the original box set of Livecrime featured a booklet to bring you up to speed on Operation:Mindcrime. The video in the set is also excellent. I was fortunate enough to see them on this tour (they performed this on the Empire tour) in 1991, and I can attest that this is the real deal. If one ever comes your way, grab it up!!!!
If you find it aywhere Buy it!.......1999-07-30
One of the all time great sets.It tells yu wht is happening in th world around you.Think fr yourself and learn.
