PURE OLD SCHOOL DEATH METAL SUPERIORITY!!!.......2006-11-15
Resurrection - Embalmed Existence. 13 years later a CLASSIC album hands down. The songwriting, production vocals are very similar to old Malevolent Creation (1st 3 albums especially). The spoen word intros to the traks are kind of cheesy but overlall the music more than makes up for it. I am too lazy to write those 10 page reviewes where every single track is given a 2 paragraphs description. I appreciate the guys who do those reviewes though. Anyway, if you like old school florida Deathmetal with that Scott Burns Morrisound thunder, this album is for you. Resurrection never got much recognition back in the 90s so I am glad to hear that they have reformed and are working on new material. This album has crushing double bass played by drum master Alex Marquez. Musically Embalmed Existence is an absolute perfect mixture of fast and slow compositions which are balanced out very well. Some songs have an Obituary groove feel to them while others are fast breakneck speed. Vocals remind me of old Brett Hoffman. Overall, this album is a long lost underrated classic from 1993. If you like old Malevolent Creation, Solstice (Rob Barrett's band), Obituary, Demolition Hammer Embalmed Existence is a MUST HAVE.

4th rate death metal . .......2006-03-21
Why bother picking this up when there are hundreds of other death metal bands out there that are serious about their music.
Thankfully, this is the only release by this band.
The reviewer who wrote "this is a classic rarity of death metal" must" must like really cheesy death metal.
You want classic death metal go pick up Cause of Death by Obituary, or Leprosy by Death, or Altars of Madness by Morbid Angel, or Seven Churches by Possessed.
Pure Death Metal!.......2005-01-05
Personally, I found the spoken intros funny. Anyway, this band doesn't redefine the genre in any way but it does produce some ass-kicking balls out death metal. The vocals are evil, the riffs are brutal, and the drummer is incredible on some of his fill-ins and things. Also the cover of "War Machine" by Kiss at the end rocks.
Grave Metal.......2004-09-23
Brutal death metal from these guys. Dont listen to what the other dude says on here. This CD is a classic rarity in death metal history. Find it now!
HUMAN WASTE...DOG URINE...SATAN...1993...COOL..........2004-08-10
"I REST IN MY HOME DRINKING HUMAN WASTE,
AND DRINKING THE URINE FROM MY DOG,
I FEEL INSANE WHEN I DO THIS...BUT I LIKE IT!"
--Resurrection's hearfelt intro to "Track #2"
I'm on track #8 as I write this. Remember, I listened to Resurrection so you don't have to. You would have to be pretty pathetic to buy this. In my defense, I did get "Embalmed Existence" as a $0.99 special at a cut-out bin blowout. So, what's your excuse, loser?
In short, this band plays competent, but unimaginative death metal from 1993. Normally that's 3 stars, but I had to take one away for the annoying intros to tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9. Imagine these kinda silly phrases said in a really hokey, high-pitched haunted-house voice before the requisite death metal chugging:
"In the beginning of time there was darkness,
While I lay resting in my mother's womb,
I soon became a part of the light world,
Young in body, evil in heart,
With little love around, I became aware of DEATH!
I should've been executed early in life for the crimes my mind commits daily..."
--"Track #1"
"I watch the decaying bodies and minds of the old die slowly and I wonder what eeevil did they inflict on others they once knew."
--"Track #2"
"Some of us become surgeons
and cut flesh to heal the human carcass back to life!"
--"Track #4"
"How can I survive!?!
Evil speaks to me every waking day!
Realizing the monster that I have grown,
I solemly promise to leave Eeeevil alone!"
--"Track #5"
"You can swindle your mother and just for a buck,
You can turn into something vile and corrupt."
--"Track #6"
Et cetera.
The cover and the last track are pretty cool, though. Not surprisingly, the final song's a cover tune (Kiss' "War Machine" from Creatures of the Night.) They do tack on a dumba$$ intro anyway, even though it's not even their song. I leave you with the poetry of Resurrection:
"Some become Satan's prostitutes,
Raping themselves daily by doing his bidding (evil laugh)."
