5 out of 5 stars And I thought I had heard their best...........2003-11-20

Their latest and best album up to date (2003). This band is back on their feet and won't fall again for a very long time (let's hope). In this album you can find all sorts of songs: power metal masterpieces (La cancion del guerrero, En el nombre de Dios?, El amo del camino); slow ballads (Volviendo a casa, Cuando la luz oscurece); average rock songs (Abeja reina, Lluvia Purpura).
The other songs are also great, if not I wouldn't give it 5 stars. If you know at least 2 words of Spanish, listen to them. Their style is more or less like Kamelot, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody and others on the lighter side of power metal.

5 out of 5 stars Rata Blanca, best metal band in Latin America.......2003-07-26

For all those of you who haven't heard yet about Rata Blanca, you don't know what you are missing! It's definitely the best heavy metal band in Argentina, and probably in all Latin America. The guitar player, Walter Giardino, is awesome, and Adrian Barilari, the singer, is regarded as the latin-American Bruce Dickinson. This band has been around for many years, and you should probably check out all their albums. I reccommend the following songs (not in El Camino del Fuego): Mujer Amante, Leyenda del Hada y el Mago, Guerrero del Arco Iris, Solo por Amarte...
Now, as for this particular album, it is somewhat different from the rest, but still great. "Volviendo a Casa" is the most popular one, but my favourite is "En Nombre de Dios". It's very powerful and they play an organ in the chorus... Beautiful! Actually gives me the chills... Then, you have "El Amo del Camino" , which is a rocker, very different from what the band had been playing until now. "Lluvia Purpura" looks like it should belong to a seventies album, weird... but great. "Cancion del Guerrero" is typical Rata Blanca. "Cuando la luz oscurece" is a beautiful ballad, the typical song in which the lights go out, and everyone holds their lighters up high. The rest of the album is also great! You won't find even one filler...
Give it a try! Download some songs, and you'll see what I'm talking about... Totally worth buying!

5 out of 5 stars Oh My GOD!.......2003-03-07

Man , this is from very far the best album released in the last years by a south american metal band . It's somewhere between rock, heavymetal and powermetal . All the songs are full of magic , the guitar solos couldn't be better and every element in each song is put in right where it has to be . I really recomend this album , you'll not regret it .
    Cheers and HAIL METAL !

4 out of 5 stars good heavy metal.......2003-02-03

I am rating this disc from the preview i heard, and i must say it was pretty good. It has many good songs and great solos but there a few songs, that aren't as great but still not garbage. If you like bands like iron maiden, malsteen and stratovarius you should like this band. This is the best latin heavy metal band and with many years of experience(not the 4 albums the guy that wrote the amazon review says they have, this is the 7th I think). This is a very good album but I would first advice you yo listen to some songs first.

5 out of 5 stars They are back and better than ever!!!!.......2002-10-04

Rata Blanca most famous line up is back, well... without the drummer. This album kick ***!! This band from Argentina is the best Spanish Classic Metal band. Mr. Walter Giardino proves that he is the best latin guitarist in history (eat your heart out Malmsteen!!) and Adrian Balilari is considered the "Bruce Dickinson" of spanish metal.

There are many tracks that could become spanish metal classics, like the opening track "El amo del camino", this one is a furious and intense rocker. Their single "Volviendo a Casa" brings back memories from the best days of RB in the 80s.

If you like Heavy Melodic Metal this album will ROCK you, even if you don't understand a word of it (in spanish).
