Loudmouth ROCKS!!!.......2002-09-27
I discovered this band thanks to a review in Metal Edge magazine. The review said that Metallica was covering the song "Not Free" in concert and that they really liked this band. I brought it on that recommendation and I love this album!! It has twelve great songs and should be a must have for any hard rock fan. Just a piece of advise-listen to "Maybe" on head phones. It's a real trip! Boy was Metallica right. This is one of the best newer albums out now!

I first heard Loudmouth when I bought the playstation game Omega boost. They were on the soundtrack for the game with Static-X and I was amazed by both of the groups and just had to go out and buy Loudmouth's CD. It's a great CD with good songs that really rock.

Dead Band That Rocks.......2006-07-23
Loudmouth rocks! That makes it an even better reason to get the full lenght LP rather than this EP. This sports good songs but the LP is them at their best.
By the way, Loudmouth sounds a little like this. They have plenty of sweet guitar solos (a modern hard rock rarity), timely additional instruments (like a harmonica stretch), and powerful rap-rock singing to match the music. Loosely compare to Papa Roach, Second Coming, Soulmotor, Mandmade God, and Eight Stops Seven.

Customer Reviews:
Great variety.......2006-04-16
Loudmouth throbs with the kind of pulsing beat you hear at late night bands in Irish taverns. Several of the songs are superb - the eerie nihlism of a high school massacre 'I don't like Mondays' the batchelor rat pack 'Rat Trap', the transcendental 'This is the World Calling,' and the, well indifferent, 'Song of Indifference'.
Not Enough Boom.......2003-05-26
I have to admit when I first bought this disc I did so because it was hard to find original Boomtown Rats' discs. Geldof's solo career only took off because everyone was keen on the guy who gave us "Do They Know It's Christmas" and his humanitarian work.
Now that you can at least find "Tonic For the Troops" and other Boomtown Rats' discs, this compilation is not really worth the investment.
Don't listen to that prat..........2003-01-05
Sorry Adam,
While your review for the album is fairly accurate (It is a rather lovely piece of work), the assertion that it's identical to the US (or rather, Canadian) release is false. Track 5 "Love Or Something" is replaced by "Never in a Million Years", Track 11 "House on Fire" is replaced by "Up All Night", and Track 12 "The Beat Of The Night" is replaced by "Rain" (Interesting side note: This song was originally called "Dave" on the Rats LP "In the Long Grass", but Geldof & Co. were forced to rewrite the lyrics and rename the song as "..you're singing to another guy...faggots don't sell records". (Quote taken from "Is that It?" - Geldof's autobiography). The version included on the Canadian release is actually the original recording of "Dave", but listed as "Rain". This is the only known CD track release of any song from "In the Long Grass). Oh, and btw, "Crazy" is Track 7 on BOTH CDs.
Regardless, for any fan of the Rats (and to a lesser extent Geldof himself), this is a most worthy acquisition.
Loudmouth truly is the "Best of Bob"!.......1998-07-31
This compilation, issued in 1994, broke into the British Top 20. It is masterfully produced, and is truly a greatest hits' collection of one of the most underappreciated men in rock. Geldof's wide range of styles, from the punk of "Lookin' After No. 1" to the reggae of "House on Fire", to the sprightly nature of "Love or Something" shines through. There is something for everyone on this disc; it is well worth the investment. This album is identical to the American release "Great Songs of Indifference" except that Loudmouth has the added track "Crazy". Buy this version; "Crazy" alone is worth the cost.

Album Description
The genre-blending music that Battery Life creates on "Shotgun Loudmouth" rockets effortlessly between roots, punk, country, pop, rock and roll.
Battery Life's music (written by Almanza and Lawrence) is aggressively melodic with heartfelt lyrics that are both uplifting and inspiringthink in terms of Social Distortion without the cynicism, "Hang Time"- period Soul Asylum and the first two Rank & File records. The comparisons are only valid in the broadest terms. These musical touchstones are quickly forgotten when "Shotgun Loudmouth" invades your eardrums.
Anchoring all this is a blistering live show that ends in everything from bloody faces to broken instruments.
Customer Reviews:
Not your teenage daughter's spineless sensitive-guy stuff........2004-02-17
BATTERY LIFE's sound is a raucous brew that draws on a half-century of country, rockabilly, 60's garage rock, and punk influences. There's even a track that sounds like the Monkee's gone dark and twisted ("Delusional") and some great surf guitar. These guys write songs with wry, clever lyrics and plenty of hooks (especially notable are the title track, "Stay Cool in the Dark in the Summer," and "Double Wide"). If you're looking for something to play loud and move to, this is it -- catchy punk barn-dance music.
Best CD out this year.......2004-02-04
What more can I say? Really this is the hottest group out this year. If you dont have this disc, GET IT.

This is simply a great album. It's one of those albums in which every song is listenable and you never have to skip a track. Loudmouth can appeal to any type of rock fan, classic rock to metal. I definitely recommend it.

Hello Swindon
Manufacturer: Hello Swindon
ProductGroup: Music
Binding: Audio CD
ASIN: B000QU31VO |
Product Description
Like the Violent Femmes meeting James Brown at a Jane's Addiction reunion show, Hello Swindon come with a high energy approach to music, both in performance and on record. Formed in 1999, by singer/guitarist, Scott Semple and singer/percussionist, John Vick, Hello Swindon has had the requisite line-up changes, but with new bass player, Jeff Leece on board and long time sax player/vocalist, Todd Sisk, this band is just hitting its stride. Armed with a sweat drenched live performance that is fast-paced, furiously entertaining and often hilarious, Hello Swindon win over every audience, wherever they go, whenever they perform. Tight vocal harmonies and a musical blend of rock, blues, funk, jazz and punk allow Hello Swindon to go from straight up acoustic funk to intense, sax-soaked rock raves in nothing flat. Loudmouth Soup is a seven song EP by the original lineup.
