Solid Stuff.......2006-11-14
All in all, this a good listen. It starts out heavy, like Deep Purple for kids weaned on grunge. A tad too much for some of us glam fans, but nonetheless, it's a fine way to kick things off. Then, you feel some funk creeping up. Organs come in around the middle of the album, and it creates a great vibe that you couldn't have expected earlier on. Then the album winds down and the guitars start getting less heavy and more acoustic. By the time it ends, the album seems to have undergone a softening of sorts. And yet, it feels perfectly natural. There no real clunkers on this thing, and some tracks' enjoyable factor may outlast their playing time. Overall, a commendable effort that stands up better than you might expect.
glenn is god!.......2005-03-01
My musical taste has always revolved around the Deep Purple, White Snake, UFO, Sabbath, Dio, Tommy Bolin, circle, but one name clearly stands out from the rest and that is GLENN HUGHES. I keep buying back catalog stuff and continue to be blown away! This guy rocks and sings with a feeling that grabs you inside. This disc rocks from beginning to end. Make sure to check out his new stuff with Dave Navrro and Chad Smith, Soul Mover. I saw a promo video and heard the tune at the NAMM show in january in LA and I was blown away by it!!!
Glenn Hughes builds the machine quite well!!!.......2004-05-05
Ok, let me start saying this: It`s been a long time since I first heard this album but it stands as one of my favourite Hughes albums. I bought this album right after it came out here in Norway. I was very into Glenn Hughes and his voice from albums such as Deep Purple-Burn and Stormbringer, and Since that I have always been a hugh fan of his. Ok, I bought this album in exitement of hearing his voice in the age of 50 i suppose and was trilled about how good it was!!!! I couldn`t believe what I was hearing!!!! That voice is amazing and now i can understand that people call him: The Voice Of Rock. The music is also very good. It Rocks big time. This was a very big surprise for me, because I had never heard anything from him since his Deep Purple days. This is a must for all Glenn Hughes fans
HYPER- SOLID STUFF!!!.......2003-02-04
Building The Machine is a solid set of Hard Rock songs with a very healthy dose of funk, a Hughes' trademark. What impresses me the most is Glenn's voice still in wonderful shape as well as the great musical craft and poise of his bass playing; supported professionally by J.J. Marsh (guitar) and Gary Ferguson (drums)a pair of more than average musicians.
In a time of hyper complex guitar solos, odd atmospheres and twisted lyrical themes in Metal (which I love), Building the Machine is a very refreshing injection of joy and good vibe, recalling a clearer and simplest time.
Highlights: "Out on Me", "Don't Let It Slip Away", the fabolous Purple's revamp of "Highball Shooter" as well as Rare Earth's "I Just Want To Celebrate" featuring canadian great Pat Travers as guest axeman.
Despite certain inconstancies, specifically on the four ballads which sound somewhat generic; this CD has been spinning in my player for months non-stop. Maybe this is not a masterpiece, but is a very enjoyable and memorable musical experience.
Quality rock/metal.......2002-06-08
Fellow Americans put away your Rap and Nu-Metal. Give this Guy a listen he masterfully blends hard bluesy rock/funk and masterful vocals/bass lines. Guest Pat Travers. This is a quality Rock CD that all rock fans ages 18-40 can enjoy.

What Happened?.......2005-09-20
I was hooked on I Hate Therefore I Am when it came out back in 1991. That album had some great rememberable songs. This has nothing on that great debut. I only heard this once and I couldn't tell you anything about it. No song on this EP caught my ear.

Worship at the Cyclone Temple!.......2006-04-10
Cyclone Temple was, in the early '90s, among the forward-thinking bands that were pointing heavy rock in new directions. When its debut album, I Hate Therefore I Am, came out in 1991, alternative metal outfits like Cyclone were not considered mainstream - a few years later, they were. Unfortunately, Cyclone was not able to ride the alternative explosion of 1992-1993 to the top of the charts, but this CD is noteworthy just the same. While some alterna-metallers thrive on bombast for the sake of bombast, Cyclone is more intricate. I Hate Therefore I Am is, in its own way, every bit as musical as the 1980s fantasy metal of Queensryche and Iron Maiden (although the songs are more angular). But Cyclone is alternative all the way, and its forceful yet melodic brand of alterna-metal draws on influences that range from Living Colour to Anthrax and Metallica. The material is mildly funky, but not extremely so; while Living Colour is among the influences, Cyclone doesn't pour on the funk to the degree that Living Colour, 24-7 Spyz, and the reunited Mother's Finest were pouring it on in the early '90s. Again, I Hate Therefore I Am was not a huge seller; Cyclone only had a small cult following. But that doesn't make this CD any less appealing.
Severely Under-rated..........2003-09-01
I remember hearing this cd once back in '91 (And buying it immediately LOL). When hearing about them coming to my state (CT) my band and I promptly got tickets through some people we knew. Saw them at the Cheshire VFW in Connecticut and had a great time. Afterwards we spoke with the band while they broke down and at the trailer they had for the tour. Great band, great album, great LIVE performance and they were all very nice on top of it. Definately an album to hear, one of the best for the whole year. If any of you guys read this, I really wish things could have happened for you...bad timing, thats all...Good luck in everything you do.
Too Late for the Craze.......2002-11-05
Cyclone Temple did not fit in with the normal "Hair Metal" bands. Strong lyrics and great thrash/metal music put CT head and shoulders above the average 'metal' drivel of the 1980's. Unfortunately, CT debuted while metal was on the downward spiral. The band was never able to be heard by the masses, and faded into obscurity. It is too bad that this good band did not get a decent chance to realize its full potential.
This cd rocks.......2002-03-08
I owned this tape, yes that is how long it was...I didnt even own a cd player at the time...I dont remember the year...but I loved this CD...It reminds me of when I was teenager...and now that I teach highschool...it reminds me all over again....
I love you guys.......2002-01-12
I know the vocal singer, so I know what hard work went into putting this CD together. It is an great CD. I love it, it's has some really wonderful songs! Not only is the music great, but so are the people in the band!! It's a great CD for someone that likes the Thrash metal. I would refer it to anyone I know!!!

SURE WOULD BE NICE IF YOU WOULD TELL US WHERE THE "IMPORT" IS IMPORTED FROM. FOR EXAMPLE , IMPORT, JAPAN. IMPORT, GERMANY. ETC. THIS WOULD BE AN IMMENSE HELP TO COLLECTORS LIKE MYSELF. IM SURE OTHERS HAVE FOUND THIS FRUSTRATING AS WELL. SOME PICTURES SHOW THE 'OBI' OTHERS DON'T ITS HARD TO TELL. GLENNS STUFF COMES FROM VARIOUS COUNTRIES, AND THE QUALITY does VARY. THEN AGAIN I DON'T LISTEN TO THESE CD'S ON A 'BOOMBOX' EITHER. THANX FOR YOUR TIME.
