A mind blowing surprise!!er.......2007-07-18
Thanks to the Surge 106.9 in little old Renovo, PA for spinning the song By the balls off this gem! I did own the first Funny money and didn't even know this masterpiece was out!! Being a huge kix fan, starting in 1982-83 era and I followed them religously through the 1980s. After Show Business I knew it was over. Then Steve Whiteman goes ahead and puts Funny Money together and I get my faith back in real, fun kickass rock and roll!! Hey, Chocolate Chalfant is back on drums and Beau Hill mixes this gem and boy does it sound good!! Not a bad track on this disc and it does have a ballad or two but done up Kix/funny money style, not wimpy!! Mark Schenker and Mark Galpin are a good compliment to Steve and Chocolate!! I was impressed with Schenker's production and the songs are as good as anything off a Kix record and some are better!! Top picks include By the balls, all tied up(Fave), Big bang boom, Weeds and roses, hot on your heels and slow to blow. A real treat and I'm impressed and grateful Steve, Chocolate and the boys for keeping the spirit alive and keeping the fire burning. Thanx for not selling out Steve!! Funny money "stick it" rocks!! But it now, knucklheads!! Enjoy.....
Incredible a Must own if you like rock at all.......2007-02-15
I have been following The Shoes, Generators , Kix and now Funny Money since there begining and this cd is the absolute culmination of years of experience talent , mind blowing hooks , and some of the highest energy rock you will ever hear. It is one of those rare cd's that plays well over and over with no bad songs just heart pumping high energy fun. How this band never made it passed where they did is a sad testament to the commercialism of American Music. There are every bit (Better if you ask me) than Ac/Dc Areosmith and way better than any of the hair bands IE: Warrant, Great White, Cinderella etc. Most of those band were lucky to have two hit songs, Steve Whiteman and the boys crank out classic hit after hit and get no traction. Come on America wake up to one of the best rock bands ever. Thanks Steve for yet another and probably your best effort so far this cd is a must own!!! The Monkey Man

Steve Whiteman...the star of KIX.......2003-10-16
This should show that Steve Whiteman was the real star behind KIX...
KIX has become one of my absolute favourite bands of all time, but I didnt actually get into them until long after they had broken up (circa 2000), and so of course I had known they weren't together anymore. So eventually I would buy all their albums and then after that I was like "yeah, it's too bad they are gone" but I always had the albums for my KIX fix..and then I learned that Steve was in his own band..I managed to find and download some clips of their songs..and Funny Money does have some minor differences sonically than KIX, but this is still A1 work and I consider myself lucky that I was able to get my hands on a copy of this album. It's not easy to get (here in Canada anyway) but that didnt stop me. Wherever you are get this CD, it is your ONLY KIX fix at this point.
My only complaint is a lack of some real killer melodies/hooks/guitar dynamics that made KIX so great in the first place. Most of these songs are catchy but in a more rugged sort of a way. Late 70s rock is the greatest comparison to the music presented here. Want a solid rock album with no surprises? Here. 7/10
Funny Money keeps up the Kix tradition.......2003-06-19
The Funny Money Cd is fantastic from start to finish. The songs
written mainly by Steve Whiteman, continue the Kix tradition of
fun upbeat rock tunes that instantly will become imbedded in your
psyche. When Kix broke up I was depressed just knowing that the
music I had loved for so many years would not be continued, but this
CD has made my world a better place. First time listeners will be amazed at the similarities in the two bands. Buy this Cd first, then go out and see Funny Money live at a club near you. The energy
and fun they pack into each show is not to be missed.

Very fun album from Kix singer.......2002-02-07
This album is heavy with early Aerosmith influence and I think that's exactly why I like it. Whiteman's voice is classic in the Bon Scott vein. He knows his strengths and limitations and concentrates on sing-a-long songs that are light and fun. This is the perfect "rocker party" or "drive to work" in the morning disc. It has a groovy, bluesy, feel to it, and musically sounds more like old Aerosmith (I'm talking "rocks", "toys", and "wings" era)than new Aerosmith does. "Art of persuasion", "Dry eyes cry", "Monkey see..." are my favorite tracks but there isn't a weak spot on the album. This CD is for everybody that misses well written, well played, fun songs that you just don't get to hear anymore. Enough...buy it all ready!!
Pleasant Surprise for Kix fans.......2000-10-17
As a long time Kix fan, (seen them live many times @ Louie's Rock City & @ Leonardtown, Md, even the pre-Kix "Shooze" and "Generators" days...) it was inevitabe to see the magic of Kix fade away. WRONG! Funny Money isn't Kix but Steve Whiteman hit a home run with his new band- Funny Money rocks! I was more than pleasantly surprised how good this CD is!!! Steve's chops have never been better! I'm not familiar with his new band but it works. Funny Money doesn't have the same bounce to their music Kix had but it sure has something else. Plus, there is more dimensions to Funney Money which allow Steve Whiteman to showcase his voice. If you like, Kix buy this CD, you won't be disapointed. However, you've got to turn it up LOUD!

We Love Lunch Money!!.......2006-09-12
We've been lucky enough to see Lunch Money play locally several times, and they are just awesome! I could (and do) listen to this CD over and over with my kids and actually ENJOY it (can't say that about many kids' CDs).
I'm thrilled to see Lunch Money getting some national attention; they are a really talented group!
Great Fun.......2006-08-22
This CD is great. The group Lunch Money is definitely on it's way up. I have seen them in person at a small branch library near where I live. The group is just as personable and approachable as the songs are. Kids just can't seem to get enough of the music. My nephews and neice listened to the songs so much, they know all the words by heart. their favorite is the Roller Coaster song. Give it a try, and I know that neither you nor your kids will be disappointed.
Sowing the seeds for tomorrows indie rockers.......2006-06-04
I haven't seen them live (yet), but each track conjurs up images of throngs of children reciting hand motions, and parents who can't help but join in. The energy isn't from over-stimulating sugar coated Barney-pop, but rather the raw delivery that supplies a platform for honest poetic lyricism (hence the Indie-rock allusion). The lyrics cut straigh to the things that really matter: cabooses, bugs, tricycles, and dogs (or the lack thereof).
This music kneels down to address children at eye-level, but somehow manages not to stoop.
Please keep the Lunch Money albums coming!
Sweet and Fun.......2006-01-17
My two year old son and I love this cd. It was recommended to us by my musician brother who has two daughters (4 and 2) who love it too. It sounds light and sprightly and we never get sick of it. Funny, sweet lyrics, a happy mood, and not over produced.
