Customer Reviews:
Not the best Clutch.......2005-05-28
First of all I am a huge Clutch fan from 92. They are my favorite band. They can do no wrong in my eyes. But this is my least favorite of their albums. Thi seems like more of a B side album than "Slow hole to china" Which is one of my all time favorie Clutch records. The title say's it all. I think this is Clutch just jaming and having fun. There are some really good songs here3 though like the opening track "Who Wants to Rock", "Big fat pig", and my favorite "Basket of Eggs". Make no mistake this is a good album and if you're a Clutch fan you will probably like it. It's just not one of my favorites. On the other hand this is my girlfriends favorite Clutch record, but she's a girl so what does she know.
A great Clutch album.......2005-02-01
First of all, this was released after "The Elephant Riders" after Clutch left columbia records due to low sales from the record labels lack of promoting the band. So Clutch released this originaly on River Road Records, which may have been their own label. I have yet to get the re-release but I will soon. But anyone who likes later Clutch from Elephant to Blast should like this. It is different and kind of strange at first but it is Clutch at their best just jamming and having fun. I agree with the other reviewers about track 2 being the best. I have been a fan since the first time I saw the video of A shogun Named Marcus on MTVs headbangers ball back in 1993. Bottom line is, yes this is a solid album, yes it is different, but listen to it a couple of times and I'm sure you will like it.
Get real this rocks!!!!!.......2005-01-28
This is in my opinion Clutch at their finest. Rerelease including three extra tracks. I would say that some of the above reviews need to be removed for inaccuracies. It was certainly not recorded in 1992 it was released independently between Elephant Riders and Pure Rock Fury. That's around 1999 and is nothing like what they played in the early 90's.
Second track is a true classic but the whole album is loose and grooves just the way I like it. Overall great album great vibe. Now great value with bonus tracks.
THIS IS A RE-RELEASE.......2005-01-22
It seems that the lack of a professional review has led to the confusion of many potential customers. This is not a new Clutch album that was released in 2004. It was recorded on the band's own funds and production skills in 1992 and then sold out of the back of their tour truck until they got a record deal in 1995. If listened to with this retrospective in mind, it is astonishing to hear the roots and direction of the even greater band that was yet to come. The sound quality may not be top-notch, but it only adds to the charm of this infectious and talented group. Hearing will make you feel, understand, and appreciate their more recent music better. A must for any long-time fan.
Huge disappointment.......2005-01-21
I have been a big clutch fan for years now and absolutely loved the "clutch" album. I also have been fond of the elephant riders and the recent blast tyrant albums. Any of these albums are good purchases. Did not enjoy Pure Rock Fury that much and absolutely hate this album. It seems to be a compilation of old songs that were too crappy to make there albums and were never fully developed or polished. Please don't waste money on this album. Shame on you Clutch.

THE band to see.......2004-12-22
Anything Clutch releases is original, well written and just good music. They blend alot of influences into a unique sound and never become complacent and stick to what they had success before.
If anyone reading this has the opportunity to see Clutch live, take it. They are THE best club band playing.
Another thought...........2004-04-07
I was just flipping through the rest of the reviews, and saw a couple negative I just wanted to throw my thoughts on. The two negatives I saw did make some valid points, one being thatthis album doesn't quite have the bowl quaking bass and drums that ya have to set the bass equalizer to -34, and doesn't quite have, some of the in your face this is Clutch like it or go away feel that previous albums have had. That being said, I get more of a refined kind of vibe I guess. Still powerful, still awesome, still the Clutch sound...refined, yet in no way commercial or sell out to the one and still only Clutch sound....
The Band That Can Do No Wrong.......2003-06-28
Clutch seems to be one of those bands that have this attitude towards their record labels that's saying "Look, we are going to do whatever the hell we want at all times. You can climb aboard if you feel the need but one way or the other, things are gonna get done.". Unlike a lot of bands that say that publicly but in the end tow the line to keep the suits happy, Clutch plays what the want and do it very well. It seems almost strange to me that "Jam Room almost has better production than their major label releases. Anyway, "Jam Room" is pretty much a straight forward title that lets you know what; this CD is about in no uncertain terms. It's almost like one long song broken up into parts.
For thos uninititated, Clutch plays a weird mesh of 70s rock and hardcore that brings to mind influences from all over the musical spectrum. They have fit on stages comfortably with nearly every band they've played with. Neal Fallon has a unique knack for writing lyrics that upon first glance make no sense but once you hear them, you believe that somehow, Neal Fallon knows exactly what he's talking about. It is this blend of 30+ years of rock music coupled with Neal Fallon humorous and strangely insightful lyrics that makes Clutch one of the most unappreciated and inspiring bands to grace a stage since rock's inception. Next time you see a Clutch CD in your record shopping excursion, make a purchase that is worth your while and buy a Clutch CD or 7.
Fantastic.......2003-05-24
The musical stylings of this release are a hybrid between Elephant Riders and Pure Rock Fury. I've always enjoyed the lyrics, Clutch has a gift for turning mundane things, like chowder, succotash and cornbread into poetry! I can really relate to this band! Go buy it, now!
It's Clutch...what more do you need?.......2002-02-18
This is Clutch's most experimental record top date, and it truly is awesome. It may not be a "refined" as their other releases, but it has a unique feel that the others definitely do not have. In my opinion, though, Clutch is one of the few bands where each release is significantly different from the ones before. It is a short CD at c. 35 minutes, but still worth it by far.

The Best Samples album out there.......2005-06-06
You will find more classics on this album than on any others. When It's Raining, Summertime, Did You Ever Look So Nice, Another Disaster, Stone Tears, Nothing Lasts For Long are all greats. For all the years they've been around it amazes me how many people don't know of The Samples. I guess they aren't for everyone, but there's always that certain someone who (like me) hears them the first time and gets hooked.
Best album by the best underappreciated band..........2004-09-21
The Samples, believe it or not, have been around for 20 years. And, on top of that, they've had the curse of being friends with a lot of bands that make it big (Dave Matthews Band, Hootie and the Blowfish), while they simply sit back and watch. Although the group is past its prime now, there was a time when they were one of the hottest college bar bands in the nation. Their devoted fan base has always been a combination of neo-hippy earthy types and college frat guys, and it is basically the constant touring that has kept this band alive (lets be honest, it's certainly not the album sales).
That being said, this is the band's finest album. Over the years, most of their songs and albums have been nailed with a barrage of criticism for sounding too similar, but this album ventures away from that. The band uses primarily acoustic guitars with subtle drums and pipes/keyboards to convey messages of everything from environmental awareness to alienation. The calm acoustic guitar on "Giants," sharply contrasts the pulsating electric riff of "Pain," for example, and that's the type of diversity that many Samples' albums lack. Although the production and general mixing of the album sounds a little dated at times (a little too "early 90s,"), it's still a solid album any way you look at it. The highlights include the aformentioned "Pain" and "Did You Ever Look So Nice," possibly the bands most popular song to date.
Be sure to also check out the Samples live album, "Transmissions from the Sea of Tranquility," for a glimpse at the band playing in the environment that suits them best, their live show.
Samples no room.......2003-06-05
Great CD, saw them a couple years ago in nashville, great show, great music. Did you ever look so nice is an instant favorite. Listent to this cd and as soon as possible see them live!
No Room.......2001-10-31
the absolute best of the Samples. 'The Samples' and 'No Room' represent the bare soul of Sean in very simple terms with a strong drum beat to boot. After listening to this particular CD for months, I began to realize the simple and strong voice that broke through and just.... liked it. The down to earth feeling and strong beat make this my number one pick of all their albums (for starters). There is no 'although' to come upon, for I believe that this is the epitimeeee of The Samples.

Album Description
This album is a live recording of the 10/13/04 performance at the Conga Room in West Hollywood, CA
Product Description
Personnel includes: Ludacris, Shawnna, 8 Ball, MJG, Carl Thomas, Lil' Flip, Lil' Fate, Snoop Dogg, Chingy, I-20, Tity Boi, Dolla Boi. "Stand Up" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Male Rap Solo Performance. In the year leading up to the release of his third disc, CHICKEN & BEER, Ludacris' distinguished drawl could be heard all over the radio on commanding guest appearance after guest appearance, most notably on Missy Elliott's smash "Gossip Folks." Not that he needed any more airplay--his first two major releases already had the Georgian rapper well established as one of the most accomplished Dirty South crossover acts. CHICKEN & BEER is an apt title for the ravenously hungry record with few moments of sobriety, as Ludacris unleashes his most gentle of furies. In "Southern Fried Intro," he unabashedly admits to throwing all styles, even pop, into his musical stew, before firing the full-out assault of "Blow It Out," a measured, righteous, anthemic response to his doubters and detractors, including an on-point slap at talk show host Bill O'Reilly over their much-chronicled Pepsi flap. He then switches to seduction of the most swaggering brand on the hook-laden, dance-floor bound "Stand Up." As with Eminem, the way he allows his goofiness to take sway, it's easy to forget his similarly supreme ability as a wordsmith, but this forgotten secret to his success is evident throughout CHICKEN & BEER, another appealing record from the Dirty South icon
