4 out of 5 stars The Guy Who Gave This a Bad review Wins...A Slap In The Face.......1999-11-25

This is yet another good addition to hardcore. Who Dares Wins and Counter, and even See The Damage, are all A or A+ songs, and the only truely bad song would be The Chain. At least give a listen to tracks 4 or 10.

5 out of 5 stars better then earth crisis.......1998-09-16

this band is a side project of the great straightedge band earth crisis. it has some of the same members. i like it better then earth crisis it sound like them but a little more hardcore/punk beat.

    Album Description

Born in Lyon, the Progressive heavy-metal band DYSLESIA reached rapidly the status of a leader on today's French scene. Published on the Brennus label, "My Own Revolution" (1999) asserted a very personal style, that might be placed between the works of QUEENSRYCHE and HELLOWEEN. A new band has to build up its own style on stage. That's something DYSLESIA understood quite well. Concert after concert, the band managed to find its way and its audience. Finally, all these efforts and sacrifices have proved valuable since the musicians met a real success with their second album "Who Dares Wins" (2001), produced by Dennis WARD. This enabled them to share French and foreign stages with groups such as RHAPSODY or SYMPHONY X. The third album "Years Of Secret" gave the chance for a memorable tour, captured both in sound and pictures. "Story And Live" (2004) has the particularity to be the first DVD ever published by a French heavy-metal group. So it was obvious that the Brennus label should be chosen for such an event !

1 out of 5 stars Earache Records Sucks!!!.......2006-10-05

The problem with this record is Earache Records...They continually release material without the band's permission. They also re-released the Realms of Chaos CD when the band felt there was no need for it to be re-released. My recommendation is just to be careful what you buy from Earache Records.

1 out of 5 stars ALREADY HAVE THESE SONGS.......2003-06-11

There is no need to waste your money on this if you have their previous CD'S because your not getting anything new on this release. Just a couple of live tracks, and whats going on with the sound quality on this release, its pretty bad.

          2 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing.......2002-07-17

Bolt Thrower is a great band, but something about this compilation just didn't do it for me. It probably has to do most with production quality. A lot of the songs here would be awesome if you could actually HEAR them better. Especially the live tracks. Not that I expect all the older, rarer stuff to be absolute top-notch quality, but the live recordings on here get so garbled that I find them hardly worth listening to. On the upside, the new 'World Eater' track is interesting and 'Dying Creed' is definitely one of Bolt Thrower's best songs (at least out of what's included on this compilation). I actually gave 'Dying Creed' quite a bit of air time on the radio while DJing in Nashville, TN. Though there is some good stuff on this album, I would only truly recommend it to people who are already fans. Otherwise, I'd suggest starting out with something that's already well established with better production quality.

          5 out of 5 stars Brutally Satisfying.......2000-03-23

One of the best produced offerings Bolt Thrower has made available. A good selection of their classics in a crisp-sounding format. Experience "Cenotaph" and the new "World-Eater". Cheers, Bolt Thrower!

4 out of 5 stars Wana play king of the mountain?.......1999-11-03

Well, you have to topple these guys first. Bolt Thrower's simplistic yet catchy style of death/grind/doom/thrash metal bulldozes over any and all commers without quarter. One of the most devastatingly brutal bands I have ever heard. "Who Dares Wins" is a compilation of some songs (mostly rare tracks) from their earlier recordings (Warmaster, Realm of Chaos era) and puts them all one one CD. A great introduction for a new listener and a great addition to any existing collection. Any fan of truly brutal metal is sure to appreciate this album and this band.

4 out of 5 stars Mo' Wax and Japan.......2000-11-15

This is a great collection of obscure and unreleased Mo' Wax tracks. The title refers to Sun Tzu's strategy book and there are a bunch of skits which have quotes from the book in that computer generated sounding voice. The songs themselves mostly consist of the the hip hop and downbeat vibe. There is a strong focus on Japanese production (not surprising considering that this was only released in Japan), which is great to hear. Added to this is amazing cover work by Futura 2000 (Star Wars theme?). I am fairly sure that most of these tracks will not appear elsewhere, at least not on CD, so this may be your only chance.
